    Great video! I’ve also noticed quite a difference in adequate settings across different colors. Ultimately, my settings came out pretty close to yours. I will definitely go back and try the LPI you used to fine tune getting those pesky lines out.
    At the end of the video, you talk about the taper and the appearance of your logo… the taper didn’t affect the stretch. Your SPR was set to 10000. I believe it is supposed to be 8050. With the correct SPR, you may have needed to stretch the logo about 8-10% on the height to accommodate the visual appearance of a circle logo on the round object.
    Look forward to more of your content. 😊

      Good morning Lisa - thanks for the great advice. I think you are right on with both points and greatly appreciate the advice on increasing the circle by 10% as it helped alot after I adjusted the SPR. Appreciate it very much - have a great week!

    Another great informative video Gord. We use Bar keepers friend and a magic eraser. We find if there is any stubborn residue, if we get the cleaner set on there a few minutes, it comes off easier. I noticed that your materials settings didn't have an option for overscan. I wonder if the bolt does not have that option? It basically lets the laser head move past your engraving so you don't get scorched edges.

      hey thanks MDIY! It does but I have not learned how to use it yet. Thanks again - I will try to research more into the overscan function soon. Cheers and thanks again!

      LOL! _ I am - I realize now why it is so important to have one - there is only a tiny bit of room in there without it Robert so I can't do much bigger than a 3" tumbler without it. Will talk about it soon on an upcoming video. Thanks again!

    Hi Gord, I find on my laser I have to do a circle test on each diameter piece that I want to engrave. To do this I put blue tape on my tumbler/round object and create a 1" or 2" circle in Lightburn. I turn my power way down so that it just engraves the tape but doesn't cut through. Measure north south and then east west on your design. On a round design they are usually off. Then change your steps per rotation up or down and run it again. I keep doing this until I get the circle perfect. Keeps notes of your new steps per rotation for that particular piece (16oz wine tumbler) so that you can use it again the next time you do one. It takes a little time but it's a one time thing for each different size tumbler, dog bowl, etc. I hope that helps.

      That helps a lot Dailey! Thank you so much for your advice and sharing your experience. I will give it a try soon. Cheers!

    Yep - You need to modify the graphic for tapered items. I hear lightburn 1.5 is going to be able to do it automatically.

    Another great video! I don’t get to play around with mine until the weekends because I work during the week. I don’t have the rotary attachment for the Bolt aka “Zeus”. I do have it for my Xtool F1. I might take it out of the box and give it a try. You made it feel less intimidating. By the way, I love your apron.

    I just want to say I tried this settings last night (on my Bolt) for the first time on a light colored Stanley and it turned out excellent. I think I’m going to try and record all of your quick shot settings. You don’t have a single location that you keep updated for all of your settings by chance do you?

    • @LaserNUG
      @LaserNUG  22 дня назад

      That's great to hear! You may find that different colours need more power (or not). I think I am currently running at 80% power 600mm and 800 LPI. So my cleanup is quick. Yes, I maintain a Materials Library in Lightburn. I am happy to share it but don't know how I would do that. I started with the base materials library from Thunder Laser USA a while ago and I add to it as I go.
