Ignoring that this is apparently just a few months after the fight against Vegnagun but feels like it's at least a few years, this is an incredible dive into each of the character's personas. Yuna enjoyed sphere hunting but after living both a quite life and an adventurous life, she feels like she knows what she wants. Rikku is dependent on her friends and doesn't want to grow as a person, which is hurting her and may one day hurt the ones she loves. Paine, who has given the impression of not caring for companionship from day one, orchestrated the whole thing because she feels like they need more time to figure things out together than alone. Rikku, who went through Yuna's evolution and stemmed it, oftentimes relied on Yuna to get ahead in life especially after her tribe got decimated and the fact that they ended up saving Spira twice. Her annoyance toward Yuna settling down stems from her dependence on Yuna and her friends given how directionless her life seems to be without the Gullwings. Keeping her busy and travelling all the time doesn't negate her inner turmoil and patented brand of loneliness despite being so light-hearted and fun-loving. Paine, who after growing apart from Nooj, Gippel (breaking up with him, they were an item) and Baralai in a tragic way, came in the picture as cold, cocky, aloof and reluctant to open up but spending time with Yuna and Rikku gave her back a sense of trust, sanity and humanity. She plotted this reunion to regain what she lost at one point and saw it as an opportunity to honor what they had and thank them for renewing her faith toward mankind after the unwarrantesd yet unvoluntary blood-soaked betrayal she suffered at the hands of Nooj. Their friendship will forever sustain even though it's distant now but the distance and the tower's exploration made them realize how toxic their bond turned out to be, how they relied too much on one another to grow and how separating is necessary to maintain their bond intact.

@@tamashii6670 he had no name in the sense that the game lets you pick his name, so the voice actors never say Tidus to account for that, they have to dance around it
Wait wtf is this isnt she with tidus? Ima assuming when she says " she met someone" it's tidus right? Rikku says "but if he is back" which must also be a reference to tidus. If not then the translation from jp sucks and the perfect ending means nothing.. No actually the translation sucks anyway
I understand it like it's without happy ending from "FFX-2" and Tidus didn'r come back. But anywat, there are light novel and audio drama as continuation of this story, it's kinda weird, because Yuna, Wakka and Lulu believe again in things about Yevon etc, they creates Yevoners and they prey, like in old times... But they known at the end of "FFX" that everything about Yevon was lie, so... Sin came back, also weird... And Yuna broke up with Tidus saying that she love someone else. ;) There shouldn't be anything after "FFX-2"...
the translation was not done well yes, people who speak Japanese have clarified it saying she is referring to tidus the whole way through and Rikku/Paine are not talking about not knowing him
Well, thankfully this side story was not cannon. Yuna did not meet someone else, nor lost a certain "someone" either. (Tidus) There are three side stories that have very strange endings which again, thankfully, are not cannon...like the one she felt Tidus was cheating on her and broke it off with him while he was hurt playing Blitzball and...yeah, it got way too confusing with that story and should never be mentioned in another FF X series game.
It still drives me crazy that they don't just call him Tidus in X-2 and this. I know they gave you the option of renaming him in the first game, but sheesh, the dialogue is jarring when they dance around giving him a name.
@@markellzey1531 yea if they ever remake it I hope they just stick with his canonical name like FF7 remake did. I was always puzzled they kept the nameless thing in ffx which had full voice acting, it should have been left behind in the PS1 era
The real reason they couldnt get poeple interested in a 3rd game for this universe is because they can settle on a style or tone. This dlc feels so pointless, and there was no reason to make this a tactics game, I know that turned alot of poeple off the dlc.
The story is interesting tho, it was so much.. realistic. In FFX2, everyone seem to get along bcs they didn't have much time to get to know each other, they're all busy protecting Spira. I feel like now they're finally closer together. I like this sequel, kinda shows what's going on after "Happily Ever After" endings. Yep, there's never a happily ever after.
This is like...17 years old? fans, Square, and Nojima need to let FFX alone, X-2 was already unnecesary, Yuna saved the world, and Tidus somehow came back, that's it, no need for sequels, teenage drama, or Sin coming bacl...glad they scrapped the X-3 idea.
I agree, but if life has taught us anything. Money talks. Not to mention, a lot of fans want sequel to ffx-2. There's demand, which means more cash for SE. Look at Final Fantasy VII remake
That's not even the worst part. Appearantly in the official novel story Tidus died for real shortly after the fayth brought him back. And then Yuna basically wished him. The audio drama continues on that novel.
Last Mission came out in 2004 with the international version of X-2, exclusive to Japan until the HD remaster in 2014 or 2013 when it finally got an english dub. I haven't played this extra mode yet, but I like the cutscenes. It's a nice final bow on X-2. I hope they don't make a X-3 or continue with that awful story from the audio drama.

@@romeostruedudeWhat you mean he had no name in "FFX"? "FFX-2: Last Mission" is older than "FFX", I played in "FFX" on PS2 and he definitely had name.
@@tamashii6670 he had no name in the sense that the game lets you pick his name, so the voice actors never say Tidus to account for that, they have to dance around it
Would have been better without to 20 adds I had to sit through ever minute
Sorry about that...
Hearing Rikku talk all I get is Harley Quinn vibes
Is this still applicable after the true ending?
And Yuna broke up with Tidus saying that she love someone else. ;) There shouldn't be anything after "FFX-2"...
the translation was not done well yes, people who speak Japanese have clarified it saying she is referring to tidus the whole way through and Rikku/Paine are not talking about not knowing him
@tamashii6670 Nooo mi ship 😢
Popular video game.
Bullshit... Sad ending... I hated how they made FFX-2 sading endings just like FFX.... goddammit....
I'm waiting for the third game, but unfortunately they're giving priority to other stupid games.
For me, this is the last piece of canonical work on FFX series. The novel and audio drama are non-canon and shall not ever be a FFX-3.

The real reason they couldnt get poeple interested in a 3rd game for this universe is because they can settle on a style or tone. This dlc feels so pointless, and there was no reason to make this a tactics game, I know that turned alot of poeple off the dlc.
I feel like a third game is inevitable, especially if they go the route of the first game. But is see your point
Yep, there's never a happily ever after.
shes obviously talking about tidus
I feel like they should’ve been fighting throughout the whole game instead of just here. It would’ve been better for development tbh.
😭😭😭
This has more context than the actual main game. Still mids, but this was cool to watch.
Gotta admit, I'd be annoyed if I grinded through hours of that tedious dungeon game to see *this* story.
The audio
drama continues on that novel.
@@Locomotion94 wait what? Where can I read this novel
Why do they insist on destroying the ffx legacy 🤣🤦♂️ worse than the last of us pt2 that nobody asked for
The Last of Us Part 2 is way worse.
You are just a misogynist because they are all female characters i bet you won’t say that if they had male characters as main characters
the gameplay is terrible, especially the tower.
Agreed but worth it for the cutscenes 🙂
