  • Most visitors arriving into Milos will arrive either by plane from Athens or by boat into the main Ferry port at Adamas.
This is the largest settlement on the island and home to around 1400residents. The population increases in the summer months and this is an ideal place to base your stay on the island.
Adamas sits in a large natural bay and its port is well connected to both Athens and the surrounding islands. A short walk from the ferry port to the East will bring you to the town’s second port where private boats can moor and excursion boats depart to other parts of Milos. This is also the port where fishing boats unload their catch and it can get quite busy with islanders eager to see what’s available. Further moorings can be found all along the seafront as the road makes its way to the south East and the small beach at Papikinou.
Behind the port is the town square and where you will find the bus station where you will be able to connect with other parts of the island.
Adamas features many restaurants and Tavernas, mainly located along the seafront either side of the square where you will also be able to find travel agencies and gift shops in addition to car rental agencies.
Places of interest include the mining museum and the Ecclesiastical Museum in Agia Triada Church which was built in the ninth century.
As well as the beach at Papikinou, there is a further beach located a short walk from the centre on the north side of the port. Just around the headland, Levada beach is located just in front of the hotel which bears its name. Sunloungers are free for the hotel guests but a small charge is made for these if you are visiting.
Milos has many places of interest and Adamas can provide a good base for your stay on the island with a good choice of hotels, connections with other parts of the island and direct access to the Ferry Port.
