being eldest myself sometimes it means hold all negative emotions alone and try to be strong when things aren't going well in the family since if parents can't do it then the responsibility will be yours, so you learn to be quiet around family members, pretend to be indifferent tho actually you want to scream bc others, your parents and younger siblings already screaming
Thank you so much for this video. I'm getting divorced with two sons, and I live in Italy without any friends and family. I have been through a lot, and I feel depressed every day because I have no money, no work, I'm not much educated, or professional work, but I chose to be a live for my kids seeing your video has motivated me a lot I hope I watched this video again and say yes I made it some day thank you
To the mother: I suppose you’re aware about your son’s artistic skill. This will be your common understanding of encouraging him to go to any art courses.
If drawing is his passion and his way of expression, it should be nurtured and encouraged. As someone already mentioned, he doesn't say much but his actions speak to his character.
😢 I can understand where she’s coming from. It can be hard reading children at that age. You never know what’s going on and you want to be close to them. He’s not cold he’s normal. Most Korean boys his age are like this. It doesn’t mean they are bad or cold. They just want space and are finding themselves in this world. You did good mom. He’s a good kid ❤
I felt the same way as the eldest son when I was that age. It’s really hard to be at the age where you’re expected to plan for your future but you may not feel ready. It looks like he’s really good at both art and music. Mom should encourage him to try art school, or at least a couple art classes if the structure of school is too overbearing. I wish them all the best 💗
Most eldest son in korea is matured and a lot of responsibilities....stand as a father...good job! As a mom of 3 kids..you're doing great...strong and brave mom....you are not alone as a single parent in korea....i have a lot of divorced friends like you....they're striving hard hard everyday for the sake of their kids...but their lives are getting better like you...fighting....go for it..and never give up! god bless...
His letter has me crying. My son is like him, quiet but caring. Many people misunderstand him,and when I’m worried the most I failed him he says in a few quiet word or gestures how wrong I am.
I also cried after reading the eldest son's letter. I'm also raising our son now not sure if we will have another one in the future. After I deliver him last year I recently become emotional whenever kids say something good to their mom from the bottom of their heart.
Each one of us God gifted us in certain talents. Her son seems to loves music 🎼 If a teenager likes what he/she is doing that is what makes him/her happier. Anything can be a business profession such as, teaches music, cutting hair, cooking and so on….. God bless mom and her three kids and may the Lord Jesus guides them during hard times and protects her family.
i feel like im like the son... quiet and aloof but i show my love in different ways. i didnt think about my future at his age too, i was quite clueless, i didnt even want to go to college.
Her oldest son is probably depressed right now which he should really get some help mentally, emotionally. We all can tell that he has alot on his mind that his keeping it to himself. This show k-doc should help her out with counseling for their families.
yes, his responses during the meat barbeque scene shockingly reminded me a lot of my own responses when i was depressed. seeing someone mirror me, i think he is definitely going through something...
Well done mummy❤ it's been a journey for you. Not easy to be a women..let alone a single mum. I believe all your children will grow up fine and well..they will take good care of you till old age 🙏 ❤❤ God bless
16:11 I used to not want kids ever, but this changed my mind. I hope to raise a kid that loves me even though he or she may not seem like it. I think that's the best cause they show you they love you instead of just words.
Wow having her own salon in south korea is amazing..! Ang galing mo po ate ! Ako ngaaral pa lng para sa 미용 license ! Fighting po nakakainspire po ang story mo😊
There’s nothing here about culture, but a story of Khmer-Korean mom facing obstacles and moving forwards. Culturally they are more Korean from what I can see. I think it’s a good thing.
The impression I get is that the Cambodian heritage is completely erased which is kind of sad. Just an impression based on a snapshot of their lives though
@@GneskosIt's still a sad thing. Having a mastery of second culture and language (especially the one that belongs to their foreign-born mom) in addition to the mainstream Korean one should be a great advantage. Their communication with their Khmer relatives or grandparents could be easier and same goes to understanding intricacies of Khmer culture (do's and don'ts, music, level of politeness etc.). But I understand that every mixed-ethnic family has their own circumstances that make learning their ancestral cultures seem difficult. Sometimes foreign-born parents are so focused in getting their kids to be able to succeed in the mainstream society of their adopted countries that they don't have the time and chance for teaching and passing their culture & language to their kids.
@@Gneskoswhy wouldn't it be a sad thing? of course people assimilate to the country they live in, that's a given, but that has never equalled erasing the culture that they previously had. if anything, people often bring it over to their own homes and families once they move. the food, practices, customs, language, clothes. this is unusual.
Just so any kids happened to watch this video, I am very regretting not being with my mom in my teenage years, now I'm a 53 year old missing my mother very by watching this video.
Your children are good and have been raised well. Thanks to you. Pls tell the oldest son to learn to smile so that good vibes will come into his life more. He looks angry all the time and this is not pleasing to the eyes.
Lots of people are blinded by what’s in front of them. I think it’s one of those things that can never be figured out as to what makes a person see right through it. But I l believe it’s multi faceted as each person comes with their own experiences. His mother probably wasn’t brought up in a way where artistic ideas could be seen as a future. I know that Cambodians went through lots of hardship and is still significantly a high poverty rate. Plus their in Korea, a country which prides itself with the stereotypical be a lawyer or doctor which is seen as successful. All the mom probably knows is the good ok Asian wisedom, “study hard, stay in school, so you don’t have to fail”. Which is not encouraging, especially if you want to be a Artist from a middle or lower class family.
If you watched the previous episodes.... it was the eldest son - who encouraged her to divorce. He saw how hard it was for her. She initially didn't want to. He's just an introverted teenager going through puberty.
the brother must be really interested in japanese culture it seems. he's drawing in an anime style, has mecha figurines, and plays dj okawari on the piano lol
the subtitle they put should not be 100% reflecting what the character actually thinks, I think those subtitle should be more straight forward then self-interpreting of the editors etc.
Obviously the son should be going to an arts focused school. But, only well off people can afford that. Didn’t see what city they live, but looks too small to have magnet public schools.
I think being the only guy in the family and being the eldest is what he is always thinking, that is why he likes playing the piano he wants to see the results. He feels the pressure.
I’m the second oldest of three brothers. No sisters. My oldest brother is turning 31 soon, I’m 26, my middle brother is 24, and my youngest brother is 20.
Hahaha the oldest just like my lil bro. He's good with art and not bothering to answer silly question. But he did something warm non verbally without anyone noticing.
The eldest son seem very introverted and withdrawn. He doesn't appear to engage much, his personality is not very outgoing but he seem to love his art. Perhaps that is something that mom could help natured in him.
I enjoy watching my fellow Cambodian women’s living in another country also it’s hard to start a life without your close love ones being there to support you. Over all I admire her strength to continue having to take care of her kids alone is the hardest job in life!!! Prayers to you and the kids that things will look even more brighter in your life also the kids as well we are all rooting for for you!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🫶🏼❤️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The eldest is "poker face" but he got the warmest heart...
He just like my brother 😊

feel like a k-drama, but she totally a strong woman with good children. Wishing you guys the best :)
All kids do, every kid just shows it different and some people can just not show their feelings so openly
You can tell how great of a mom she is with how well her children turned out. They're such wonderful and sweet kids in their own ways.

Your son is an artist. Nurture and encourage his natural talents.
He is talented. Math is ever in their society but he can excel in other ways instead.
I teared up when Yesul read the letter from her eldest son.
Well done raising up such kind children !!
You're a star Mama Yesul!
😢😭😭
To the mother: I suppose you’re aware about your son’s artistic skill. This will be your common understanding of encouraging him to go to any art courses.
My little sister is like her eldest son. She's always by herself and never interacts , but when u need her she's there for u
If drawing is his passion and his way of expression, it should be nurtured and encouraged. As someone already mentioned, he doesn't say much but his actions speak to his character.
they're all adorable in their own right, the second son got the idol bad boy quality yet clingy, while the eldest got the boss quality yet warm
100%agreed with u
what the hell

Great family. Proud of your son for writing that card
Her son's an artist for sure. People say artists can be introverted.

The second son is really pretty handsome
I’m confused by the mom who looks at her artist-pianist son and wonders what he wants to do in the future. He wants to be an artist. Let him do that.
Right, I’m amazed by her sons talent.

Yoooo am i crying😢
Silent love 😢😢😢 from son and grate mother
The oldest seems depressed
I think the son's energy and attitude is affected by his dad not being there.

I to raised my kids practically by myself after a divorce. It’s not easy.
Beautiful and amazing family 😍,am mother of two🇬🇭🇬🇭🇨🇮
how you feel after yoouer divorcing make me smile
Wonjong has main character energy ✨
Its not easy mum bt yu will fight all will be well
The Mom looks like a Filipino half Pinay half Korean children
4:57 top left Cambodian flag so I assume kids mom is Cambodian and kids are half Korean.

Why does she have a Cambodian flag on her name tag? I'm so confused
She's from Cambodia. Married to Korean man and already divorced. Hope this answers your question 😅
The racism toward south asians in South Korea is kinda mad
If it is hard to live with kids without getting support, why not living in cambodia with kids?? I am sure her family will help her out.
She probably feels her kids will have a better life in Korea. She is from poor village in Cambodia.
