This run uses a 60fps cap.
This run was done on the most recent patch (Version 1.2.0416) and beats the Previous World record of 4:00 set by Yimmeryams
From an outside perspective this run is absolutely absurd so I'll explain everything.
Firstly Redguard male is the fastest race to use due to the adrenaline burst ability which helps influence the first 2 clips and also allows me to get through the goblin room faster. Later on I also choose the steed stone due to the 20 Speed bonus it gives.
Clipping in this game is quite simple. You walk into a wall and then as you are walking you quicksave the game and return to the menu. Then you reload the save and while it's loading you hold down whichever key you use to walk and by the time the game loads up you should be on the other side. This is because Oblivion loads your character first and then everything else.
I punch most of my ally NPC's to manipulate them and get them to do what I want them to do. This mainly speeds up sections where normally they would be walking but when I aggro them they are now running thus making it go by faster.
What you might be wondering is how I get to the end of the game. One of the developers put a door underneath the Temple of the One that literally takes you straight to the final quest. This is because when you reach the final quest the normal door which takes you to the normal instance of the temple is switched because the temple at the end of the game is a special instance only used for that quest. Luckily the devs at Bethesda left the door above the ground and easily accessible. Without it this run would be roughly 30 minutes longer.
Finally the reason why loads are timed out for this speedrun is because loading in Oblivion is hardware dependent so better specs=Faster loads. With loads timed out it makes it an even playing field without any unfair advantages.

Loadtimes are also just pure RNG and can varry greatly even just doing the same load over again
I always wondered of the NPC's in the games would see you doing a speed-run and just wonder, "Why is this man running into walls, and jumping in and out of reality?"

I don't like that though. I would rather see if I could speedrun the main quest without using glitches. But I have encountered a bug where I can't progress through the game.
TimeVortex look up a 100% speedrun of oblivion then, two typical runs exists with speedruns, any% like this one abusing glitches and skipping part sof the game but 100% speedruns may use bugs and glitches but will not skip any required sections
PianoPerry you may be able to find a completion without glitches. I recently saw a Skryim completion on Legendary without glitches that was over an hour, but with glitches it was barely over 30 minutes

isnt there a sgdq15 speedrun? I didnt watched, so i dont know if its a full run.
It's in the official rule of speed running that if a bug or a glitch is used then it's still allowed because it's still part of the game and not a mod
If you want legit runs then search for an "in bounds" speedrun.
or search for glitchless. I think most of the joy of speedruns comes from seeing people breaking the game.

Hey man. I'm wanting to learn this run, but I can only get the first clip like 10% of the time. Even if I just reload the same save that I just got it to work on I can't get it sometimes. Can you explain to me any like visual cues you use?
DrLoLGPO This clip is a complete pain when starting out. I use the black dot on the wall. There is a corner on the wall right in front of the black dot that you should somewhat get stuck in, that is the right place. Also as someone who has done almost 2000 attempts this clip is not a 100% guarantee.

DrLoLGPO We've had a few people discuss a route but none of them ever did it. There was one guy who did a glitchless "100%" run in around 16 hours so take a few hours out if glitches were used and if an actual route is made.

In my first playthrough of oblivion i just ran through everything because i did no damage and got knocked back all the time

HM Daruu It's the clipping glitch that is used throughout the run except we use a door instead of going back to the main menu. We quicksave, enter door, quickload, which then clips you out of the map.

I bought oblivion way back in 2006 and could never figure out wtf I was doing, I managed to beat it tonight in 11hrs which I thought was really fast considering skyrim is well over 100 hrs and all three dark souls I'm in the 90-100 hr range

CherryIsTrash When I did this run I had nearly 2000 attempts so my muscle memory for clicking shit In the menus was really good. Even then none of the menus look programmed. The one “inconsistency” you point out is a sloppy mistake because I was most likely nervous because I was on pace to break the record at the time. That’s what it is, my guy.

To paraphrase Inigo Montoya from "The Princess Bride:" You use that word. I do not think you know what it means. Without loads means what nebel said. Load screens don't count towards the total time.
I think you're thinking of save/load, which is different (although I'm not sure it's called save/load in speedrun times, FTR).

The load times were taken out after the run because this run is old and was done before a timer existed to do that for us. I agree it looks mad dumb when the finishing time is 5:02 but that's just how shit worked back then.

that's just detracting times while loading... We are probably talking about two different things, what I am thinking of is - he is using a loading glitch, where at the beginning he goes to a wall, saves, quits to main menu and loads save which "throws" him through a wall which, at least in my opinion, is a glitch. I know, I know he didn't write "glitchless run" but still that's what buggers me a lot as I just hate speedruns with glitches :/
