I ran into this lady who had curly hair as curly as yours, who told me about taking care of curly hair. I used to have curly hair like yours when I was younger, but gradually through torment and a love hate relationship I can honestly say I've destroyed my hair. I've learned so much in the last couple videos of yours about your hair routine, than I have ever learned from the endless amount of hair salons I've been to over the years. I hope by following these that I get the life and curl back in my hair because you've inspired me to tackle it! You're so fun to watch and make me laugh and smile. I just washed my hair after watching the video! Ive been letting it dry without touching it! Oh my word what a difference it makes! It's almost dry, and it looks fantastic! Im 51 and never heard this tip before, im gonna tell my curly friends! Its not easy, you automatically go to touch it, but the results are worth being patient! Thanks curly sis!
I've always wanted videos and tutorials like this since I was little. I'm the only one with 3a/3b type curls in my immediate family and none have their natural textures anymore due to excessive heat styling. I'm only about 2 months into this as well. Didn't straighten but didn't know how badly I want taking care of my curls all these years. The, bonnet, the pillowcase, the right ponytail holders, squish to condish, diffusing, scrunch the cast... I feel like I'm learning a new language, LOL! MELL IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND MAKES IT FUN AS WELL. Just gotta hone our products and skills and not get frustrated cuz it takes time and more time. 😊😊😊
Today is my wash day, and I wished I had watched this earlier in the week so I can buy that silicon brush thing. Literally looks like heaven! And now I have to wash my hair like a regular person... But thank you so much Mel for the informative video! I now style my hair how you showed on your sisters hair. And my hair has never looked so good! So now I know how to properly wash it! OMG the blooper reel! I am one of those people that looks forward to washing their hair, but I also have wavy hair that doesn't tangle nearly as bad, and dries "relatively quickly." And yes, I got one of those silicone scrubby brushes and I am never going back!

Oh my God you’re hilarious! I discovered you today after needing to trim my own hair & then trimmed my hair & my 6 year old daughters hair too. I’ve just spent the whole evening watching a load more of your videos whilst my husband watches car shows on TV. After watching your amazon top pics I’ve just spent £100 on brushes & products. I literally watched this out of curiosity. I have fine wavy hair so was bit confused why people can't wash their hair. Omg that looks like hard work! I just assumed everyone just rubs a bit of shampoo into their roots. Smooths over some conditioner and then brushes their hair without tangles just to smooth it before styling 😆 I think I just found a perk to my hair finally x

10:58 - question of the week : "why are my roots straight and the rest of my hair curly? how can I fix it?"
mel's answer: "it could be the way you're applying your product but it could also be your hair type. if you have a looser curl type, your roots may just not be long enough to form that curl, as you notice it starts to form later on in your head because of the size of it. or you could be applying your product incorrectly. (see mel's video on "HOW I STYLE MY SISTER'S LONG CURLY HAIR FOR THE BEST VOLUME AND DEFINITION "
Now finally learning that the reason my hair is often frizzy is cause I never knew how to do my hair properly so coming to youtube I am glad to have found your channel cause your way of doing things seems like a good way to go about it. Gonna have to spend some money getting some of the different products I now need but it'll be worth it in the end.

My shampoo has a applicator bottle it’s the carols daughter wash day delight so i just use the bottle and my shampoo brush
TY so much for informing us that we can wash in warm water! Everyone else says cold water and I just cannot bear to be under cold water in the shower... that is just wrong! TY!

I worry about hair lots also. Unfortunately, I work in an industry that requires me to wear as hard hat every day but recently watched a summer hat vid where she's talks about the importance of putting silk/satin between the hat and your hair for protection.
