I played the previous iterations here and there, but Dream Match '99 is when I really got into KOF; I've been a fan ever since. I got burnt out of SF and wanted something different, and I always thought the SNK characters were always cooler for some reason.

kof 12 was let down by a rather thin roster of characters. having seen kof 98 ultimate match and kof 2002 unlimited match include characters that weren't in the respective rosters originally, my idea would be to have some of those very characters in kof 12 that weren't dead, plus some that debuted in the previous two games making 36 in total. if snk and the series creators had concentrated their energies on 12 and not done UM editions of kof 98 and 2002. i would have had the following in kof 12: mr big, wolfgang krauser, eiji kisaragi, may lee, jhun hoon, choi bounge, kula diamond, whip, maxima, kasumi todoh, b jenet, malin, goenitz, mukai and ron being playable for the first time.
Stil kof 94 has the best opening and next is 98, but the far worse kof opening in my memories was 2001, and still the art style gameplay and music are just horrible lol
