My jacket will be delivered tomorrow, so I havnt seen the hood yet, but I dont mind it. One thing I never liked about a hood (which I very rarely ever put up), is that it blocks my peripheral vision... this seems to eliminate that problem while keeping rain or wind off of your head and neck. Good review though, thanks!
It is definitely subjective and depends completely on personal preference. Similarly, I only like to have hoods on my outer layers to reduce bulk, so this is alright for me. But, someone who wants more of a hood would prefer the original Catalyst probably. Thanks for watching and the comment!
The hood was designed to be out of your peripheral vision and only cover your neck. I don't know that I'll use it either, but the design makes sense. In a light drizzle I could see myself wanting it, but otherwise It doesn't do much for me.
I can definitely see the logic behind what they were attempting to accomplish, but like you I don't know how much use it will be for me personally. Time will tell!
That is a great question. Depending on where your saddle sits on your waist, you probably could pass a removable bridge through those pockets. As my bridge is not easily removable, I have not tried it. That is a great idea, though!
Looking to get the catalyst jacked but don’t have one nearby to try on. 6ft 175 lbs and pretty skinny. Think I can get away with medium or should I go large? I typically wear medium hoodies. Thanks in advance!
We are pretty similar in size and I went with a large. I am happy with the large as it is an athletic fit and I almost always have layers underneath. Hope that helps!
@@michaelklein3244 Yeah, it is. With the little bit of elastic in the front, I can see how it might not fit over a person's head! Interesting that you say that as neither of the ones I was feeling have actually been washed. So maybe it is a little softer? Tough to say. Thanks for watching!
@@the_atomic_punk487 I hope this will serve that exact purpose for me too. I think with good base layers it should do the job. However, a cold and windy November day might prove otherwise!

Great review man!
Thanks!

Will the kit link allow for a removable saddle bridge to pass trough?

How tall are you? Did the large come downstairs far enough in the front?
I'm about 6 foot and I think it is a good length for me.
I heard noise...
Nice
Yah the hood is trash. Atleast yours actually fits over the top of your head 😆 mine does not :(
I was thinking the new version was softer than the old until I realized it's because once you wash it it looses a bit of softness.

I’m stuck between this and the solitude for a set to take me up to thanksgiving weather here in pa.
