    What about now? Did you change your mind? Do you recommend buying the ks5l now?

      Well when I did this video a number of months ago what I said is then is true the KS5 and KS5 Pro the price has dropped big time to over half of what it was then and... The Kasoa hashrate has continued to climb. That being said they are great machines but . If you have to buy a miner, and I mean your hell bent on it the Ice River KS5L for the price point and hashrate is a better buy.

    I think everyone is a bit overreacting to this... It's not really much cheaper per Th nor is it much more efficient.

    • @miningwithunclechuck
      @miningwithunclechuck  7 месяцев назад +1

      At the 32k price point it puts these KS5s out of reach for the average guy but ... based on history a few months down the line Bitmain will drop the prices so the regular guy can afford to buy in... at that time is when we possibly could have a problem. If the kS5 price stays high I don't see a problem. At the moment I'm not too concerned.

      Nothing wrong with the BTC route if you have cheap electrical or... you have a business you can write your electrical costs off through but... personally I stopped mining BTC many months ago and sold my remaining S19XPs along with. I only mine alt coins these days and have never looked back. For me personally it just didn't make sense anymore when you can purchase as an example one Ice River KS5L and make more profit from one miner than 15 S21 200th miners then just swap your Kaspa for BTC at the end of the day. Only an opinion of course but again nothing wrong with the BTC route at all.

      Well for the price it's a great entry level miner that won't bleed the bank if you want give mining a try. They are pretty cheap $239 on Ice Rivers website now. If you use the coupon code Chuck you get a little extra discount. That being said there are a number of full size asics coming online now with Ice Rivers price reduction and the Kaspa hashrate is continuing to climb so you have to way it out but... It gets you into the mining game.

      I would take a look at the pool you're using and try another stratum address for the pool if available. Also try a different pool and test your results. Always try to select a pool stratum address that's closest to your location if possible.

      Yeah the KS5 uses a C20 to P13 cable similar to the Antminer S21. The C20 side of the cable you can use with many of the available PDUs out there.

    So are you saying its not too late to invest in kaspa mining? Looking to get the new ibelink.

    • @miningwithunclechuck
      @miningwithunclechuck  6 месяцев назад +1

      To be honest with the KS5s shipping I would wait and see what happens with the Kaspa hashrate when all these new miners hit the network, as Bitmain is already producing a second batch. Profitability is going to take a big hit. I wouldn't waste the cash at the moment. If profitability takes a big hit then miner prices could fall as well in the future.

  • @mkingscott
    @mkingscott 6 месяцев назад +1

    "If you are a Kaspa miner, you are going to be affected very soon" - could you explain this, please? Affected how? Less profitability? More miners on the network?

    • @mkingscott
      @mkingscott 6 месяцев назад +1

      Also, how will things "go crazy"? Thank you 👍

    • @miningwithunclechuck
      @miningwithunclechuck  6 месяцев назад +1

      In short as mentioned the Antminer KS5 is double the hashrate of the current most powerful Kaspa miner and as more of these new miners come online, not specifically the first production run but the second and third this is going to balloon the Kaspa hashrate at an even faster rate and add in the combination of the regular Kaspa emission schedule which reduces the miner rewards on a monthly basis means less profits. If the price of Kaspa were to increase this would help offset this slightly obviously, but we aren't seeing that at the moment with the price of Kaspa.

    • @miningwithunclechuck
      @miningwithunclechuck  6 месяцев назад +1

      If Bitmain decides to flood the market by dumping the price on the KS5 to a point that the "regular" guy can afford to purchase one of these and let's be honest, most home miners can't afford to dump 35k but... say these were 3k? They would fly off the shelves and send the Kaspa hashrate to the moon. Just a possible scenario of course.

    Still considering purchasing a KS3 Antminer 9.4th even though everyone says its too late

    • @miningwithunclechuck
      @miningwithunclechuck  7 месяцев назад

      If your hell bent on mining buy sooner than later as miner prices are continuing to climb with the market the way it is, especially Kaspa miners. Everybody is buying now don't let anybody fool you as re-sellers are selling miners like crazy. Try to buy a Kaspa ASIC? Tough to find one in stock. I just received an Antminer KS3 8.2 today and haven't even set it up yet.
      This I will say and I hate to say this as I'm a true miner spending money sometimes I shouldn't on new hardware lol.. but... Buying the coin at this time really isn't a bad idea over buying a miner and getting into the game and again I hate to say it this but I'm trying to be honest with you and save you some potential aggravation. Now If you have cheap electrical or a business you can purchase your miners through and write off your electrical and hardware costs that's a different story but.. not financial advice of course.

    • @miningwithunclechuck
      @miningwithunclechuck  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@cypriotguy-kw7qe Well personally I would say no with the price of Kaspa where its at today "which could change at any time" but only you know if you have that kind extra money sitting around. Is your electrical cheap? Do you have the ability to purchase your miner through a business you own and write off some of your electrical and hardware costs? Well then maybe but this I will say, the chance that you ever ROI will be slim to none unless Kaspa goes to the moon which we all hope of course but again only you know based on your personal situation. For me I run my mining operations through my businesses so it makes sense,.

      Ks5 pro will cost me 15 thousand euro at my door.
      So its very cheap compared with the price other people get it.
      And yes i have a business so i can show the electricity burned as expenses of my business.
      I believe it is a huge opportunity at this price so i pre ordered with not thinking it too much Keeping in mind that kaspa didn't have a full cycle yet and we have at least a year of upward trend in the crypto market in front of us.
