117 bands live in my lifetime and without a shadow of a doubt the best live band I’ve seen. Tears for fears come close but for the sheer fact they change their set for every show clinches it. 18 times for James 19th coming up
I have seen about 200, not blowing a horn, I saw James at Manchester Academy in the early nineties and they were fantastic, I have seen Van Halen through to Metallica, but the best band I have ever seen have to be REM, at Huddersfield and Old Trafford cricket ground ,Michael Stipe was a frontman personified, what a voice ! Engaged with the crowd, knew where he was...genius 🤩
I wish I had been old enough to have seen Queen. Just from the plethora of their stuff on RUclips, don't know if there is a better frontman with a better voice and stage presence than Freddie. For me, Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip was second (re stage presence and command of his audience.)
I was REALLY hoping when he 'slowed it down' that at some point he would speed it up again!! still very good though, makes me want to watch American Pie!
JAMES: The energizer bunny of the Music world. Tim Booth; a man with an amazing gift and talent that doesn't use it to show off big notes and vocal aerobics as many singers do. James simply uses his gift to emote the required emotion of the melody. And he does so, better than anyone. A well balanced, musician, poet, artist and least not vocalist. JAMES, and Incredible band,, Booth and incredible man, and we, the incredibly fortunate witnesses, of this beautiful medley of musical talent that is James. Thank you for the decades of great music. Hope to see you live one day, but I live I Kentucky, and don't believe you're touring near anytime soon. But one always hopes.
Saw James supporting The Courteeners a few years ago. It kind of felt like James set the bar quite high before The Courteeners came out😂 they were unbelievable!
Always loves this song. Was lucky to have seen them live in the mid-90s. The lyrics of this song are absolutely brilliant. This bed is on fire With passionate love The neighbours complain about the noises above But she only comes when she's on top My therapist said not to see you no more She said you're like a disease without any cure She said I'm so obsessed that I'm becoming a bore, oh no Ah, you think you're so pretty Caught your hand inside a till Slammed your fingers in the door Fought with kitchen knives and skewers Dressed me up in women's clothes Messed around with gender roles Line my eyes and call me pretty Moved out of the house, so you moved next door I locked you out, you cut a hole in the wall I found you sleeping next to me, I thought I was alone You're driving me crazy, when are you coming home Laid Laid
I love the slow version and I hate slow music. They did this song on CBS Saturday Sessions last year and that was an awesome version but it's not anywhere I can find. It was a mix of slow and fast.
A mournfully underrated band. Missed the 'Brit-pop' spotlight, 'rave-alternative' scene too. Paully know though... Paully knows. A fantastic, unique and peculiar band xxx
When I was a kid, in the early 80’s, my sisters “dressed me up” and named me Carol. I’m straight as an arrow… but those WERE the best of times, looking back. Berets in my hair, hated it and loved it at the same time.

Song from 1993 and the singer can still hit the high notes? Almost unheard of.
One of the most best bands of this generation
Listen to John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival, still sings in the same key he sang in in 1969
@@t4omas yes sir I will agree!!! Saw him and zz top down in south haven few years back. Brilliant show
He was ill, as a lad, so was always a bit more of a clean living type.
I’m a sloppy drunk and hit those notes nightly!!🤪😂😂😂😂
The best band to come out of Manchester. Vastly underrated.
Fuck right off mate. Tims a massive Leeds fan. Fuck all to do with scumchester.

You're driving me crazy, when are you coming home
Laid
Laid
Drawer, nor door? 3rd verse
Original version is door, most other versions seem to be drawer. Drawer fits better I think, the till drawer :)

There is a version on a CD single, similar to this version. Think it's Run Aground.
How can you sit down in a chair while listening to James?? O_o
Still outstanding Scarborough 2024
Manchester does knock out some belting bands
2024 anyone
Yup, and just as defining as it was 30 years ago.
my god this song is good.
Mr White "will live forever baby. We're just like roaches, never dying, always living, and on that note let's get back to the 90s"
