He presented it as a funny crazy story. I know he had to appeal to be emancipated as a teenager because his father was stealing all of his acting money. I think that most child stars experience abuse, whether sexual, physical, financial, etc., and getting into self-destructive behavior is a natural consequence of that.

Check the Top Gear review on it from back in the day, it's a very, very highly regarded drivers car that often got overlooked because it's a bit 'girly' looking.

That son was also skimming money off what his dad earned, and Mickey Rooney only found out a few years before he died.

@@johnbacon4997 goodness yes. Weighs around a ton, a variable valve timed 1.7 engine that has 90% of its torque from 1250 - 6500rpm, a highly balanced, nose pinned chassis and a very playful back end.
Had it for five years, bought for £650, spent around £2000 keeping it on the road but don't regret a moment of it. Check the Top Gear review on it from back in the day, it's a very, very highly regarded drivers car that often got overlooked because it's a bit 'girly' looking.
