  • In today's video, I explain in detail how to use the official Battlefront Flames of War list builder. I also go into detail the list in which I took to a recent Late War tournament, it got me third place (YAY!). Let me know what you think and what you would've done differently?
    I've also noticed I've made a few mistakes within the video, I mention the left side at the start with reference to the books, it's actually the right side. I also said to add the command card to the formation, they're a minus card so it's actually subtract and the Russian tanks at the end are IS-122s ... DOH!

    Panzer IV/70s and Hetzer very usefull vehicles. But there is something you have to keep in mind if you are using them: Their cross check is 5+ - that's very bad. So you have to depoiy them carefully thinking about where on the table they should go or can go.

      Fantastic point mate, it's a great vehicle when you're a defensive player like me 🤣 I think ill have to pick your brain with my next list 😉

    An excellent video, but the title is a bit misleading. This isn't really, as the title suggests, a general video on how to build lists in FoW: what are the combined arms elements to consider in a list?, how does list building work in terms of formation diagrams and mixing books?, what are things to consider when choosing between options?, etc. Rather, this is a video that might be better titled "Building a Flames of War Bagration German list using the Flames of War Force Builder"

      Hi Brent, thanks for your awesome feedback. I'm sure you can tell but I'm still new to all this and trying to find my footing. I'll amend the name as you're spot on, it was meant to be a very basic guide to using forces opposed to an in-depth look into list building. You've given me plenty of questions to answer in a future video 📹 😉

      Thanks a lot mate 👍 it's a defensive list which is my go to strategy as I'm pretty ordinary at attacking 🤣

    List building is something I haven't done yet, however after a years time and several hundred models later I should probably start now...🤔🤪👍

    Hey man! Im curious which pack you got the Panzer IV/70 from? It would be awesome if you can send a link from the pack you bought to get them! And how did you make the net on the barrel on one of the Panzers IV/70?

      Thanks a lot buddy. I see you had a few comments deleted which is weird, I don't know why!
      The Panzers are actually from an older resin boxset GBX36 which included the net on the barrel, etc 😉 you might be able to snag a set on ebay or a Facebook seller? 😊

    I am confused - can you select multiple of the Grey support boxes in a formation? Or is that not allowed

    • @paintingpanzers
      @paintingpanzers  Год назад

      You can select as many support options as you like. You can't select multiple support options within the same support box. So for example, Iron Cross Force has a support box which is labelled armour. It has a Ferdinard Tank Hunter Platoon and under it a Stug Assault Gun Platoon. I can only pick one of those to take.
      It's probably easier to explain with pictures so hit me up on Facebook and I'll explain it with pictures if you're still confused 😁
      Sorry for not explaining it that well 😅

  • @Dancagallifan
    @Dancagallifan Год назад +1

    Is there a reason you decided to take the Hetzers over a 2nd 4x Platoon of Marders (which are available under the 7.5 tank hunter box in the general support) considering you sound like you prefer marders > hetzers? Bagration lists can take a total of 8x Marders which bulge cannot take so it gives you a reason to keep a bagration list. it's also 16 points, identical to the hetzer cost

    • @paintingpanzers
      @paintingpanzers  Год назад +2

      My main reason for avoiding a second platoon of Marders is the weak armour. I wanted something that would perform well against medium armour that could take damage and potentially withstand it. Also, I was being a little lazy and didn't have a second platoon of Marders painted 🤣

    Im not sure i understand how you can make a 105 point list legal. I thought you had to have 100. Im new and just started painting HTB and decided to build a German list myself but im confused.

    • @paintingpanzers
      @paintingpanzers  Год назад

      No problem mate! I'm here to help. So basically 100pts isn't a set point limit that you must adhere too. You have the freedom to use whatever points you want when creating a force but if you know that people in your area play 100pt games, then you'd build a 100pt force. The typical game is run at 100pts but some people play games at 50pts to keep the games quick. The tournaments we play here in Western Australia are 105pts, the reason for that is because they allocate the extra 5pts to be used for your command cards, you can spend the extra 5pts on models but it just gives a little extra for those that wish to take command cards.
      The starter sets are usually based on 100pts (I believe) which is awesome as must people play 100pt games. If you need any help, don't hesitate to jump on Facebook and join my Painting Panzers Support Page as others can help explain it better :P

      It really depends on the tournament organiser. I'd ask first but for us it would be fine.

    List building is easily one of the worst aspects of the game, so many restrictions and limitations and arbitrary things, it's frustrating

      Oh yeah I can definitely see that. I must admit, I found the V3 format of list building much better but that's just me.
