This is like if BiBi was a full kpop girl group 🥲. The aesthetic and R&B influence is immaculate. I'm so hoping they will keep this vibe and sound because if so they will dominate the scene. Talk about coming out of nowhere and knocking us out with such a fresh sound.
I don't know about that. There are plenty of great K-R&B female soloists. To pick someone as super edgy like Bibi doesn't really make sense to compare. NewJeans are young and fresh. They're smooth, not edgy. I love both NewJeans and Bibi, but I don't agree with this comment. "Hurt" could be compared to other artists like Lee Hi or DeVita but the other songs are very unique to Korean Music. I can only compare to 90s/2000s R&B artists like TLC, Just Timberlake and even Dr. Dre production.

New Jeans is a very impressive K-pop group. I love that they had the confidence to lean into the more natural makeup look and styling along with the cook, laidback R&B sound. I am very excited to watch them grow and develop as a group!

I love Danielle she is so cute and kind, the way she takes care, looks at and treats all the other members, the way she responds and encourages each one even though she is shy too, I really admire her she is beautiful on the outside and on the inside, Dani is definitely my bias!
when you started talking about them reminding you of someone i immediately went "loona?" because that's exactly how i feel😭they've really got something different going for them. this album immediately went into my "real kpop music" playlist😄oh and i don't remember if it's all the songs but some members worked on lyrics for the songs.

@@girlwhowentbazzinga I would definitely recommend Odd Eye Circle's Max and Match album. They are a subunit of Loona. Sweet Crazy Love is an absolute legendary song!! Some of my favorites are Eclipse, Twilight, D-1, Love Letter, Universe, See saw, Rosy, and the whole [X X] album just to name a few. Definitely recommend checking out their whole discography to see what you like!

Before their group name was released, they were known as Min Hee-Jin's girl group! Min Hee-Jin was behind many successful groups at SM before working for HYBE.

I love the alternative vibe of this group, their r&b sound, the natural hair colors, and the off-kilter cinematography! I remember seeing Attention MV being dropped out of nowhere with an odd thumbnail (not the present thumbnail) and I went, who the hell is NewJeans? Then I watched the MV and was blown away by the refreshing concept and sound! Also, I looove that HYBE's murky vocal mixing has not entered the doors of ADOR. I hope they keep it that way. This is it. The new era of in k-pop has emerged. This is historic.
This really feels nostalgic to me. As an r&b listener at heart before kpop, I'm glad we getting some different vibes in kpop groups. Need to bring r&b groups back like TLC.

I get what you're saying, the groups concept (for example their styling is reminiscent of Asian-american babygirl) and sounds is extremely westernized but the execution is still Kpop which kinda gives a fresh vibes to fans and honestly that captivated me as well and I'm ulting them as well

all of their songs are basically the “bside better than the titletrack”. It’s not the usual song kpop groups would put out today as a titletrack but these songs are just too good and different from the noise songs these days

Every generation of Kpop has that ONE girl group that steals the nations heart. 2nd Gen had Girl's Generation; 3rd Gen had Twice; and I predict NewJeans will be that group for the fourth gen. Your correct that it is different. All members being able to speak English will be a huge benefit for breaking them in the West. If they recorded all English versions of "Attention" & "Hypeboy," they would be on regular radio play here in the US. Those two songs are just that good. I personally haven't found a 4th gen girl group that I was crazy about, until NewJeans.

I loved this debut. For me its rare to decide to stan a group during their debut era (for me 1-3 songs are not enough to show a group's musical identity) but not in this case. My favorites are Hype boy and Cookie (the only thing I'm worried about is cookies lyrics, it's a bit weird knowing how young the members are. I personally don't like it when companies debut idols who are younger then 17. But it's not a reason to not support the group) Their concept and sound is amazing

The cookie is a metaphor for their music which is why at first the cookie comes Rollin in and in the end the CD replaces it . If you think the lyrics are inappropriate for their age you simply misunderstood their meaning .

But why you think its metaphor for their music?(genuine question) I mean is it your personal interpretation or did you've read it somewhere ? The only information about the lyrics I've found was : "girls try to seduce the boy they like. The way they try to attract him is not explicit; they don’t try to be provocative ... They are good girls; in this case, they show it by baking a special sweet treat for him, inviting him to come and try it." Of course the explanation of the lyrics isn't inappropriate but it doesn't change the first impression of it.
I'm not denying that I maybe misunderstood the meaning. But I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who did which proves that the lyrics are a bit tricky. In my opinion there shouldn't be any space for misunderstanding lyrics for groups like new jeans (full of children).
I find debuting 14 yo weird but it gets even weirder when they're singing about love in the way they does in cookie (just look at the lyrics without thinking it's some kind of metaphor, isn't it weird?)

@@valeryfil7469 i do agree with you on that , they definitely should have avoided controversial lyrics regardless of the meaning behind them. So yeah in that sense they should've been more careful when dealing with minors.
@@valeryfil7469 I've read that the english translations are wrong. The ones complaining about it are international fans while k-fans are quite confused about int-fans. K-fans said that there's nothing wrong with the lyrics. Ador needs to hire a new translator.

Yesssss Fifi! I share that same sentiment, I honestly haven't felt this strongly about leading tracks in K-Pop (Attention, Hype Boy, and Cookie are all the title tracks, Hurt is the only b-side) since Loona dropped Eclipse with Kim Lip. Seeing a group leading with R&B as their focal sound is something I didn't think I'd experience in K-Pop, and I've been into it for over ten years. Love you, and I'm so thankful you shared your discovery of them with us. 💚

I can finally say this a true real changer in the scene of kpop now. I feel like I've observed from the labels when they are debuting groups now they are so focused on making a different group and now that has become like one color if that makes sense. They all kinda looking and sounding same. Unlike this, newjeans's attention was an excellent and bold choice for a debut song wow that's some real built different
