@@summerrose8110 My issue is the same problem I have with the domestic violence episode about his sister. The writers want to have it both ways by making something shocking as humorous for the longest time and then try and turn it around dramatically. I know a LOT of late 90's-00's humor is semi-ironic shock that did not age well, but you can't build Quagmire up all this time as this funny little pervert knocking out women and saying "jackpot" to an underage cheerleader and THEN say that he's actually this pathetic victim and it's the girl's fault for not saying her age OR his mother's fault for him being a pervert. I mean, I DO like his sex crazed stuff to an extent, if it's at least over the top cartoonish. The weird bestiality, being surrounded by blow up dolls, saying "giggity" whenever someone does a phrasing. Some of the earlier stuff's kinda cringe, and I forgot the roofie jokes existed since the early years. I don't think the character needs that unless he gets called out on it. Like in the Cleveland Show where he whines about not getting the spinoff and Peter straight up calls Quagmire "a r*pist." But if they were going for an episode giving his behavior some excuse, they did it the worst way possible. At least with the dating app episode they give him an "I have a problem" that was reasonably handled. And I do legitimately enjoy episodes where he's in a relationship, but it doesn't work out. Loved Candy Quahog Marshmallow. Chasing something he can't get is a legitimate character flaw that feels like a genuine theme to grow on. Mom was a pervert and it's all her fault was disgusting. Plus, the episodes where they mocked Bill Cosby for doing the same thing and calling him a monster for it kinda feels hypocritical in retrospect.
@@mightyfilm Very true. I don't think there's any redemption for Quagmire. I hated that manipulative sob story victim crap they had Quagmire do in court when he slept with a minor. The writers really thought making Quagmire a victim would diminish all the evil he's done. Same with Lois who surprisingly I hate more than Quagmire. I'm actually mad at the writers for trying to manipulate the audience by making Lois a victim by showing her being bullied and abused to eliminate any accountability. If anything Lois being abused and then abusing her children and husband makes my hatred of her grow even more. Because SHE KNEW better and yet she willingly chose to repeat the abuse cycle. I still can't get the image of Lois raping Peter very aggressively when he wanted to be abstinent, which is stupid because he's married and has children it was really for the kids at Meg's school. And it pisses me off how Lois got away with raping her husband. I hate this narrative that people think women can't be rapists, but they only see men as that. Double standards really grinds my gears.

His best relationship was definitely Joan. Peter doomed him to status quo. And seeing him get his comeuppance from Peter, Cleveland, & Quagmire's Quagmire is cathartic. I prefer the one note character jokes and only either taking it seriously or having him be out-Quagmired in Quagmire-centric episodes. 1:30 I agree…he has always wanted Lois….the difference between quagmire and Brian tho, Peter doesn’t financially take care of quagmire…he doesn’t live in their house and eat their food and all that. So….still fucked up….but there’s a difference.

@@sophieelizabeth04 Which again makes him the worse character to bash Brian because while Brian may do sleazy things Quagmire does far worse - kidnapping, SA, drugging etc.
@@itazuranakisuThose things are very long ago and are played for laughs, they're not his actual personality. Glenn was hypocritical about Lois, the rest he was dead on about. The proof is Brians behaviour in every Vs Quagmire episode,he is just the worst there.
@@christofferjenzen78 He only really became right about Brian after the fact. Brian was a great dad to his son until they specifically mentioned he actively ignores him. Brian has dated women for their personality and intelligence in the early days and even actually fell in love with Jillian despite originally just wanting her body. Brian has had more impact on society and politics than Quagmire, fighting for his own equal rights, gay rights, legalization of weed, etc while Quagmire just works at a soup kitchen and was an obstacle to Brian legalizing gay marriage in Quahog. Quagmire's rant was either only true later when they made Brian worse, or grossly hypocritical because he does the same...but worse. And even if its played for laughs, its a recurring theme that Quagmire is a necrophiliac, a pedophile and a rapist, they bring it up multiple times, even Peter calls him a rapist so yes, it is actually his personality because it is consistently brought up. A one off gag like say Peter being addicted to meth doesn't mean Peter is now addicted to meth but multiple, consistent jokes of Quagmire being into underaged girls, dead girls and roofie-ing women, kidnapping them and tying them up does show its an active part of his character that they make fun of.
You actually missed the episode where Peter goes to talk to him about something and Quagmire is dressed up like a baby because his family is over for game night and they're playing "...sex"

Would love see this type of video for American Dad's Roger. His love life is just as crazy. I know a lot of the time, it's played for laughs but it's still fascinating.
The biggest part of the problem is that he’s a selfish partner, he is capable of love but as soon as there’s any sort of inconvenience or he grows bored he ends things.
I think that quagmire was genuinely happy in his first marriage (or at least I assume that was) because while with Joan, he didn't tap into those desires. Not to say desires are bad of course. But it was good to see that Quagmire settled down. I'm sure if the guys didn't try to bring him back into his perverse ways, maybe he could've had a peaceful life.
Personally, I loved Quagmire's character development, his love for cats, and the moments he can actually care for his friends is wholesome and shows he can be a good guy(even though he committed some serious crimes). And I thought that when he ended up married to Lois they both looked so happy, much happier then when she's neglected by Peter.
I found a leak footage of the cancelled episodes of Season 22 Episode 19 where Brian slept with Quagmire, and they fell in love with each other. I just hope it is just a prank, or i will exactly lose my mind
Given how people can easily gloss over Quagmire's behaviors with a little fluff from the show Brian moving back to his old self should be an easy task since he started out as a good person from the start of the show. However, it comes don to the writers. It took them years to start treating Meg better. And Quagmire's antics were more of a response to metoo than an organic change of the character being held accountable, actually viewing women as more than objects and taking accountability instead of bashing someone like Brian who has done far less than Quagmire ever did.Of the two, Brian is capable of loyalty and love but he needs a character that not only is smart, will put him in his place when needed but will also support his goals. Jillian was probably the closest decent relationship for him but as kind as she is some of her quirks could become annoying long term. Brian is a lite version of Quagmire. Even the whole "abandon son" pales in comparison to Quagmire having multiple children he abandoned and then wanting to have unprotected sex with a teacher right after.
i don’t necessary think Quagmire was being a hypocrite because at the end of the speech he was like “i could forgive all of it if you weren’t such a bore”
Yo!! I had to watch this again and again for me to find out that Peter and Joe were actually looking at Quagmire like this isn't very convincing...and I'd be in the same camp as them. Like where's the Family Guy death animation here at 10:15?? 😂😂
Quagmire hates Brian because of Stewie. In New Brian, Quagmire allowed Brian in his house. He asked Brian don’t mention her leg. Stewie shows, mentions leg, Quagmire left, blamed Brian. You never saw them two together by themselves ever
The artist is called Matt Thornton. You can find him on Twitter through Spidermatt2. He's a great guy and he's done most of my avatar art on this channel
I honestly think that despite the COUNTLESS bad things Quagmire has done in the past. In my opinion, he’s still a better character than Brian. Again, not excusing the terrible stuff he’s done. But I still think he’s much better and less of a hypocrite than Brian
He's a bigger hypocrite because of the things he's doing and then tries to act like someone doing less bad things with the same end goal is worse than him and more deserving of a lecture. Lois (or even better Cleveland since he has the best relationship with his wife and children) would've been a good character to give BOTH of them a lecture but Quagmire got to do everything he did with very little consequences or push back from the characters. Meanwhile more than once Brian gets lectured about his dating habits or romantic partner (Jillian). Seems like if he was worse and creeping on people like Quagmire the characters would've called him out a lot less or joked about it.
Honestly don't mind if Quagmire becomes less one note and gets more of a personality outside of being a creepy perv. My issue is that the show, instead of slowly transitioning from that to something else, just pretends he wasn't a creepy perv. I saw the whole "You're my best friend's wife" bit and that isn't character growth, that is the writers pretending Quagmire never once tried to make a move on Lois when he actively did in multiple episodes, actively and knowingly trying to steal Peter's wife as he has also slept with Cleveland's and Joe's wife. That bit makes no sense with the entire series where he had no qualms about that. Also seems like the writers are trying to transition him to the more moral character and Brian being the sex pest but again, this isn't natural. Suddenly Quagmire is this amazing guy who works at soup kitchens and protects and takes care of his family while Brian is now a sleezeball sell out who abuses and hurts his family. There was no character development, they just essentially flip flopped their characters which makes me dislike the Quagmire rant because it wasn't really accurate at the time (and can be applied to Quagmire himself far more..) and just seems like the writers going "Brian is the asshole now, get over it". If they naturally moved Quagmire into something more that would be cool, but they didn't. They seem to just be downplaying his horrific traits either to spite Brian or because they fear being socially cancelled for joking about the topics Quagmire used to partake in and either is just annoying and pathetic (distancing yourself from tasteless jokes is fine, but not having an actual desire to and just a fear of retribution is pathetic). So for me, Quagmire went from the funny pervert I wasn't suppose to take seriously to a character I should take seriously...but that character is a pedophile, a rapist, a necrophiliac and a known spreader of STDs so actually being expected to take him seriously makes him go from the funny character to the most horrible person on the show because he's done most crimes the other characters have done WAAAAAAY more than they have.
I feel like Brian should've helped Quagmire and Sheral Teigs get back together instead of taking Sheral from Quagmire. Because that was low, even for Brian
18:28 Thet sentence of Glenn's father is just funny for me because It gaves the idea that he has no idea about what is gonna happened or even he is okay with it.
if you think about it Quagmires obsession for Lois goes back even further than the lethal weapons episodes. there's that episode where Peter gets death to take him back in time to when he was 18 for a night, Peter being Peter screws it all up hooking up with Molly Ringwald (and at some point marrying her); after Peter finds out that the dance was where she falls in love with Quagmire. he goes back and "fixes" his mistake by punching Quagmire, then kissing Lois; my theory is that Quagmire isnt just Peter's best friend and neighbour, but actually an obsessed stalker of Lois. think about it, in Quagmires eyes Peter stole the only other girl he's ever loved (Cheryl Tiegs being the other) so who's to say Quagmire didn't form a deep hatred towards Peter; like the man literally moved next door to them which means he can keep an eye on them (sure good friends might do that, but so would obsessed stalkers), he obviously knows how to sneak in and around their house if he's been caught inside their fridge.
Quagmire’s rant on Brian should go down in the “Top 10 Most Hypocritical Rants Ever.” It was so stupid to hear a guy that has obsessed over his best friend’s wife, roofied a woman, and even had sex with another close friend’s wife try to tell someone about themselves. (Of course there are other WORSE things he has done, and his character is not redeemable).
1:25. I don't think Peter is Glen's best friend and he certainly doesn't owe him a life debt the way Brian does. I see Glen as more of a buddy and while he certainly shouldn't be lusting after lois it is not anywhere near on the same scale of inappropriate as it is for brian to be doing.
@@andyblanton6570 Brian sucks. Quagmire is also awful, and in the real world he should be in jail for multiple sexual crimes and I make no excuses for him. The difference is Quagmire is a caricature and his behaviour is at least earnest while brian is a betrayer to the most noble of trusts
I honestly thought glen had a lot of nerve coming at Brian like that the way he tried to shame him for the way he lusts after Lois like the way he does isn’t waaaay worse , he’s been in bed with Lois , watched her undress multiple times , jerked off literally standing in front of her even had the audacity to go after her DAUGHTER THE MOMENT SHE TURNED 18 and much worse I could keep going on but the worst Brian has done is kiss her unexpectedly and got rejected but he backed off afterwards but glen … oh no he never gave up no matter how long the show went on and Peter is supposed to be his best friend/neighbor and Peter never said shyt to him about all those times he disrespected his marriage but he beat the crap out of Brian for kissing Lois and also mooning him while he and Lois tricked him by saying Lois was gonna flash him but it was Peter’s nude body instead under the bathrobe 😂 and ik brian can be a piece of crap sometimes more in the later seasons but atleast he’s not a rapist/pedophile/ crazy enough zoophiliac ( someone who commits bestiality) and takes advantage of women by drugging them like quagmire… bro he’s so much worse by a long shot .
11:07 I'm some ways yeah, Peter was being very selfish wanting the old Quagmire back, but the show always runs with the "Status Quo" so they had to get him back to normal. They just should've went about that in another way
I think the difference between Lois and Brian is Quagmire actually does things for Peter. Helped him diet, helped him learn how to actually f*ck Lois, helped his daughter with her bullies twice (Although, the first time he went after Connie and her mom, second time he went after Meg), and took care of Stewie Quagmire is an actual family guy, as we see with his daughter and with the alternate timeline kids, as well as helping out Peter's kids multiple times

@@summerrose8110facts it is this very double standard that allows these female sexual predators to get away with molesting little boys and having children by them not doing any jail time then putting them on child support, so there victims are forced to have to see them for the rest of their lives
Perhaps my favourite Quagmire line sums up how he feels about Lois:
“Thanks for checking our floorboards, Glen.”
“Well, when you asked me to tear up your carpet I came as quick as I could.”

Well, it's little wonder that many fans consider Quagmire one of the most evil characters in television animation.
Evil? He's not really presented that way. Hugo, Mr. Burns, Mom, Joker- those are evil characters
@@kelleygreengrassWell,for their support of Brian and their childhood to make sense, they have to go back about 15 years to find him being a sexual criminal in a scene and then hang all their arguments on that. No, he's not evil.

Who's Hugo?
His best relationship was definitely Joan. Peter doomed him to status quo.
He's a straight up scumbag but overly dark jokes usually get a chuckle out of me similar to Herbert for how outlandish they are. And seeing him get his comeuppance from Peter, Cleveland, & Quagmire's Quagmire is cathartic. I prefer the one note character jokes and only either taking it seriously or having him be out-Quagmired in Quagmire-centric episodes. Him having an actual relationship episode akin to Brian I often find are more boring.
The fact that Joan was willing to threaten him with a knife if he broke up with her shows she was a psycho all along. He would not be happy for long.
1:30 I agree…he has always wanted Lois….the difference between quagmire and Brian tho, Peter doesn’t financially take care of quagmire…he doesn’t live in their house and eat their food and all that. So….still fucked up….but there’s a difference.
Brian didn't try to sleep with his daughter tho.
Quagmire telling Brain off just made no sense makes him big hypocrite you can't take your cake and eat it. Because he wanted Lois like Brian and then simps on Meg.
Projection
In his rant he says something like he and Brian are similar with women but he’s honest about it whilst Brian pretends he’s some “intellectual”
That's insane😢
One thing that made me laugh about Joan is that she is voiced by the same woman who voiced Shego in Kim Possible.
Nicole Sullivan is hilarious. She did a great job as Joan though this is a much darker part compared to the deadpan humor of Shego, but it works
@@LucyLioness100 exactly. I love her delivery when she goes 'i love you Glenn.' It's one of those small things that just randomly pops into my head at the worst time and i start giggling. She's really good.
She also plays Super girl in the DC Super Hero Girls, which is a very different character than Shego.
Would love see this type of video for American Dad's Roger. His love life is just as crazy. I know a lot of the time, it's played for laughs but it's still fascinating.

He could easily be Norman Bates if Family Guy ever parodied the Psycho movies.
To be fair, Quagmire saved Peter's life after Pweterschmidt tried to kill him, so he still has that debt to him.
The more lore they added for qaugmire in later seasons the more he reminded me of guys ive actually met

"Who else but Shirt Pants?!"
Ngl, I don’t think quagmire is capable of love fr.
He’s rlly not
I'd say he is but not for a long time. They're like Peter's phases, strong but short.
The biggest part of the problem is that he’s a selfish partner, he is capable of love but as soon as there’s any sort of inconvenience or he grows bored he ends things.
He is. It's just mostly with cats
He doesn't deserve it
I think that quagmire was genuinely happy in his first marriage (or at least I assume that was) because while with Joan, he didn't tap into those desires.
And I thought that when he ended up married to Lois they both looked so happy, much happier then when she's neglected by Peter.
if quagmire wasnt a rapist he would easily be my favorite character. he can be so damn funny sometimes
I would really like to see the dating history of the griffin siblings. i feel like meg and chris are super different :)

14:27 Should be known that Quagmire is one of the very few characters in the show who's still nice to Meg.
Im really happy you did this video
I found a leak footage of the cancelled episodes of Season 22 Episode 19 where Brian slept with Quagmire, and they fell in love with each other. I just hope it is just a prank, or i will exactly lose my mind

This helps so much with the lore
AWW YEAH I WAS WITING FOR THIS! 💪 AND DAMN NOBODY CAN BEAT SAM, AND BLANCHE BUT MAYBE QUAGMIRE CAN 😂
Quagmire has slowly gone through some character development. Let’s just hope Brian can get gain some too
Given how people can easily gloss over Quagmire's behaviors with a little fluff from the show Brian moving back to his old self should be an easy task since he started out as a good person from the start of the show.
Quagmire has more love interests than Barney Stinson wow
I can agree with quagmire. I love cats

I honestly think that despite the COUNTLESS bad things Quagmire has done in the past. In my opinion, he’s still a better character than Brian. Again, not excusing the terrible stuff he’s done. But I still think he’s much better and less of a hypocrite than Brian
I agree. Brain is a kiss up and a sellout. He'd trade his morals for the sake of being famous/successful. Quagmire is open and honest about who he is
He's a bigger hypocrite because of the things he's doing and then tries to act like someone doing less bad things with the same end goal is worse than him and more deserving of a lecture.
He literally called out Brian for making a move on Lois even though he does the exact same thing.
@@callanightshade8079but quagmire kidnapped women, drugged women, tried to RAPE women but because brian is a suck up that makes brian worse?
This is one of the reasons why he's my favorite and I wish they had a spin off for him...
He started out as a pervert, but he’s become a more well-rounded person over the years
I love your channel!
I just want to say that as of right now there are 6.9k views and that could not be more perfect since this video is about Quagmire lol

I feel like Brian should've helped Quagmire and Sheral Teigs get back together instead of taking Sheral from Quagmire. Because that was low, even for Brian
18:28
Thet sentence of Glenn's father is just funny for me because It gaves the idea that he has no idea about what is gonna happened or even he is okay with it.
What else can I say but, “Giggity Giggity Goo!”
if you think about it Quagmires obsession for Lois goes back even further than the lethal weapons episodes. there's that episode where Peter gets death to take him back in time to when he was 18 for a night, Peter being Peter screws it all up hooking up with Molly Ringwald (and at some point marrying her); after Peter finds out that the dance was where she falls in love with Quagmire. he goes back and "fixes" his mistake by punching Quagmire, then kissing Lois; my theory is that Quagmire isnt just Peter's best friend and neighbour, but actually an obsessed stalker of Lois. think about it, in Quagmires eyes Peter stole the only other girl he's ever loved (Cheryl Tiegs being the other) so who's to say Quagmire didn't form a deep hatred towards Peter; like the man literally moved next door to them which means he can keep an eye on them (sure good friends might do that, but so would obsessed stalkers), he obviously knows how to sneak in and around their house if he's been caught inside their fridge.
Personally I like the way by Quagmire has grown and matured. He's almost like a completely different Glenn Quagmire now
i love that Quagmire had development
I pretty sure Quagmire is the real number 1

I think the difference between Lois and Brian is Quagmire actually does things for Peter.

Quagmire is an actual family guy, as we see with his daughter and with the alternate timeline kids, as well as helping out Peter's kids multiple times
