J Rez in Northern Ireland we are a fleet of 100--200 land rovers and range rovers for police use and BMW for the rest of the fleet mainly. We have some estate cars as well but they are all top spec ones so 100 BMW is nothing
Hope Was hes referring to 100 electric (i3 I think) BMWs that were leased by LAPD but aren't used or are only used for errands. No actual police work. Patrol cars here include Ford Explorers, Crown Victoria's, etc

I used to work for Metro and let me tell you, this wasn’t for everyone. This company is based on seniority. Metro lets the operators with the highest seniority do pretty much whatever they want. And the suits at Gateway (corporate building) do the same for themselves. Even division managers get special treatment with chefs making them meals (sometimes). The operators who work the bad lines and times didn’t attend this because they were driving the buses while these high seniority operators got to chill with pay. High seniority operators get special treatment, they never get an assignment that works weekends. When they need people to work (forced work) they only call the operators at the bottom. And even then, supervisors give special treatment to operators because they’re “cool” with each other or because an operator brought them something as a bribe. Very few high seniority operators even have their own bus. Like no one but that specific operator can drive that bus. If they want a new bus then they get it while low seniority operators get the older buses. To be honest, the only good thing about Metro is that they pay good and benefits and the union. Thought it’s very expensive.

It happens maybe once, sometimes twice, a year. Otherwise, the company shows its appreciation to us by paying us fairly and providing jobs for us. The woman defending this is a poster child for what's wrong with public funded employees having the benefits of the supervisors not being held accountable for unnecessary expenditures. Nothing new here though, and no surprises. ANYTHING the government runs will be run poorly and with a LOT of waste.
