- The Bogen UTI1 is a universal telephone paging system that uses an analog line to allow for paging. I do an overview on the system and test it. I explain the ports, the functions, and testing in a bad video. I guess try and and enjoy it.
Does anyone even read this?
Whatever

These things are awesome! I'm very happy with mine
I did not think you were going to show what I needed, but you did. You can use a standard analog phone and hook it in to the override rj-11 and make a page. This does not require dial tone. My plan is to just extend from this port to office where the page phone will be located. The only disadvantage is this is the only phone that can page and it has to be hard wired back to the unit. When you have it hooked to dial tone or a pbx page port most any phone can make a page.
Where do you get the tones that you have loaded into your voip system? I've been looking for the Bogen Multicom tones but can't find good quality versions.
I believe I downloaded it off Bogen’s website, however, I think that downloadable audio files page was taken down. I did that around 3-4 years ago. If I find anything, Ill replay here with a link!
I know this is an older video, was just curious if you knew about how to get rid of the loud bing noise that plays over the speaker when the page is initiated. I have the exact system and I am currently using the station port with a connection into our cisco VOIP pbx. I just want to get rid of that "bing" playing over the speakers..
I think you answered the question at the end. I'm checking the programming features. Edit: Did in fact get it to work. Awesome video thank you so much!
@@Hanzotaco Definetly an older, bad video, but im glad it helped! Im pretty sure in the programming its 04 for inhibit tone or something along those lines. (I havent played with it since the making of this video).
@@nm4fsv684 HAHA true so here is my updated comment, awesome video for helping me out!
For real though, videos like these bring back old youtube memories where not everything needs to be of high production value. This video served its purpose and it helped so thank you.
What it on the t-r terminals?
If I was to put a book shelf speakers that has a positive and negative can I put those wires inside the t-r terminals?
The t and r terminals are for the audio signal. However, I am not sure the UTI1 outputs enough power through those terminals to run a normal standalone bookshelf speaker.
What ohm and wattage speaker can you use for the bogen UTI1(sorry if I don't make sense)
According to the manual specs, the UTI1 has an output impedance of 8 ohms. It doesn't really say much about wattage.
@@nm4fsv684ok because i was thinking about using a 8 ohm 15 watt speaker or higher
One question are you able to program the uti1 to dial a code to activate voice page
Nope, you would need a phone system to be able to do that.
is it possible to setup a code to dial on the phone to page?
Nope, you would need some sort of phone pbx for that
i have an bogen uti-1 and an bogen ceiling speaker. does my black and 4 watts wire goes in the page only to page. i hook my phone to the override?
Hey! If the speaker is two wire, hook it to the R and T ports on either music/page or just page terminals. If the speaker requires power (if its 4 wire) Use the T and R terminals for signal and the + and - for power. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND REFERRING TO THE MANUAL. I have not tried it with a speaker and I'm unfamiliar with it. If you have an ordinary telephone, just hook an rj11 to the override port for simple paging! Heres the link to the manual: www.manualslib.com/manual/18771/Bogen-Uti1.html#manual
@@nm4fsv684 Okay. I have an Avaya 4610 but I’m still confused. Is their any accessories I need?
@@intercomsystemsandpaging unfortunately you would need an Avaya PBX server to run those phones strictly. Any typical rj11 phone will work though.
what brand of stereo was used in the beginning?
Its a Harmon/Kardon AVR 40
does it work with no phone service?
Yup. It can be as basic as just plugging a telephone into the override port, and hooking up some speakers
@@nm4fsv684 alright, does it work with no self amplified speakers? I couldn't tell from the video
@@trincolio Ive never tried it, but I believe its possible. I'd refer to the manual for voltage outputs and whatnot
ok thanks 👍
