That painter was right about one thing though. A certain group of people he was targeting he said they were bad and he also said I have left some of them alive so the world can see how evil or bad they are. And here we are today look at what they doing to the people of 🇵🇸
1. Nero didn't burn Rome because he wasn't there at the time, he was in Antium. Also, he never burned anything down. 2. Fires were very common in Rome because buildings were made of wood and they were tightly packed. 3. The harp/fiddle/guitar wasn't invented at the time and Nero actually helped the people during the Great Fire. To a Roman, Christians were silly billies, so they barely questioned Nero and went ahead with persecuting them. Historians like Suetonius said that the persecution was a good thing, whilst Tacitus had no comment on it.
Nero's story is still unsure. A thing romans did was to eliminate records of an awful emperor (this started from Caligula's end). So it's possibile that the stories told by roman historians are possibly greatly exaggerated. As for the christian genocide, It happened even before Nero and it was mainly done by other emperors out of fear that aristocrats might lose power when poorer people would start believing in this religion all about how "we are all god's child" and claims of equality. The main reason people would associate Nero with the christian genocide was due to how awful he was.
@@stefanolenzi599 I thought Nero was the first person to overlook the persecution? Christianity was only about 30 years old by then. I'm certain that Augustus would have never heard about it because the crucifixion happened under the next emperor, Tiberius, but even then Christianity was probably not large enough to be severe to him anyways. I think Caligula and Claudius saw the Christians and jews as the same people but I couldn't find anything on them killing lots of them as much as Nero. But, the later emperors like Diocletian and Decius would carry on this persecution. 'damnatio memoriae' (the removal of records) began under Tiberius, when Sejanus was executed for treason and he was obliterated from everything afterwards. The first emperor to have this was Caligula, like you just said. I agree with everything else said.

5:15 you forgot that most of Ivan's madness came from him using Mercury to treat his Scoliosis and this led him to think he was the archangel Michael. There is also an amazing painting of Ivan holding his dead son and it is a traumatizing thing to see in its grim detail.
The story of Nero playing harp while rome burned is a myth. He wasn't even in rome at the time of the fire. Plus, considering how much he was hated by the romans, there are probably a few exaggerations here and there about Nero's insanity.

Interesting fact: Nero Claudius Cesar Is in Polish book called "Quo Vadis" by Henryk Sienkiewicz, and it is about a patrician, who fell in love with a girl, who secretly was a christian, and, when he followed her, and learned who he is, he also joined the christians I'm not going to spoiler more btw, in Polish schools, this is a mandatory lecture... and sorry, if my grammar was bad...
The funny thing about Franco is that he dictated that after his death Prince Juan Carlos de Borbón-Dos Sicilias was to become King of Spain because his father Prince Infante Juan was too "liberal-minded". Well after Franco's death Prince-now-King Juan Carlos almost immidietly began reforms to dismantle the Francoist Regime and actually transitioned Spain to a Democracy. Like Father like son eh?
In fairness, post-Franco Spain was always going to end up similar to the UK in terms of governance. Before Juan Carlos became King, he was appointed deputy Caudillo, but there were factions who wanted all of the old order purged, so he had to make a deal to prevent a new civil war. As such, democracy was inevitable.
Its always funny because the masses could’ve overthrown these leaders if only the military didn’t interfere and the military were also suffering from these crazy leaders
I mainly don't remember Vlad being a terrible ruler. In fact, Romania to this day see him as a hero for defending his country. Not trying to say he's a good guy.
Isn’t Kim Jung Un also a psycho leader?, i mean, he literally executed teenagers for just watching squid games. maybe if yes then you can add it in part 2.
The explanation of Franco is a little too oversimplified, as the civil war was already underway before he even became the leader of the nationalist faction. The coup was actually started and lead by a military junta which was a collection of Spain’s top military generals

The coup failed, and Franco was stuck in Spanish Morocco clay at the time. Since the sailors were sympathizing with the “rojos”, Franco got the Germans to fly him back to Spain, so the African army that struggled against Moroccan tribesmen could run through the divided rojos armies. The Spanish civil war was wild in general. The republicans effectively sold their entire gold reserve for some scrap, and the Soviets incited a civil war within the civil war so the stalinists could kill the anarchists, which contrasts in how Franco somehow got the monarchists to let him be dictator for the next 30 years and not have the king return after his death (who then actually transitioned to democracy lol)
