Mighty if you do the diamond skill set for speed and all contact perks than you guy will be fast and his contact will stay high instead of it going from a 95 to a 72
There’s a way to do it but you wouldn’t be able to for the series you do. You basically have to create a brand new ball player and start going for other things such as a power hitting player or fielding player. But you cannot have more than one ball player at a time skillset wise

And also why don't you use the show time throwing mechanic where you use the right stuck to aim where to throw it and then you hit right trigger to throw the ball and you can also choose to run during the cpu at bats you can do it through their whole count

If the cleats you removed were let’s say 4 speed and you get new cleats with 8 speed you only gain 4 maybe that’s why?

If you do some baserunning and steal some bases you will get more stats on your speed
Try creating/downloading, the deepest and highest walled ballpark for a series.
