The DR is almost twice the land size of Haiti. But because of the way Haiti is shaped, it has a longer coastline which they're not taking advantage of in terms of tourism investments.

If you think this is scary, if you plan to go to "la Gonave" by boat, make sure you bring your own life jacket and even then it will still be a scary ride, because the boat be packed with people going back and forth from Port-au-Prince to la Gonave.

Instead of giving your money away to an NGO, I'll be visiting Haiti in 2 weeks and this place could really need your help. They haven't received any assistance from the government and this town is totally and completely decimated. It's close to Aquin. It's called L'asile.

Hey Dom a few questions is Amiga Island the same as “Ile a Rat” and what fishing village did you take the boat from to get to the island? Was it Camp Louis Beach?? And how long was the boat trip and konbyen goud? I took a boat very similar to that from Port Au Paix to Tortuga island, Haiti it was about 45 mins and they were bailing out water from a leak in the boat! Lol
