Will try 2.5 turns on air screw see if solves bogging issues got same carb on my beartracker sat 10 years at my moms drug it out the woods just gotta get this china carb running right
Have the same carburetor with exactly the same issue. And the same bike. You will need to remove needle and put clip to its lowest and put washers under it. Its running lean. Mines runs day and night. Now.
I've got a 250 bear tracker 1999 that I've owned for 23 years maintenance is everything and if you don't beat it like a kid they'll pretty much last forever
Take your carb to a reputable shop and ask them to ultrasonic clean it and replace the jets. If they are the originals regardless of how clean they may be they're probably corroded out of spec rendering the air bleed adjustment useless, also be sure to check your valve adjustment and make sure the air filter and pre-filter aren't soaked with fuel from running too rich and backblowing through the carb, that fuel gets atomized and sucked back through causing issues and also the filters need to be clean, dry, and in place cause it needs a little back pressure to run properly, these were the main issues on my 2001 beartracker, they're kind of finneky but once you get it all nailed down they're a darn good machine.
Hey man! Got the same fourwheeler i use for hunting..mine had a horrible flat spot just like yours...and I actually re jetted the main jet with a bigger one and also changed my throttle needle to a bigger one...jets and needle came from a 97 polaris 425 magnum! Basically the same carb just bigger jets perked mine right up! Hope this helps
The jet the company put in it just the top of the main jet is to big it is a 145 size you need a 1.05 I had the same problem with mine same exact carb off Amazon too and to adjust that fuel screw you take a short flat head drill bit and adjust like that .
best china carb for a 200-250cc bike is the jfg racing 30mm. amazon for 50$. the ones with a clear bowl, flat slide, and power jet. i put one on a wilderness 250, and the difference was very noticeable. that was with zero tuning.
@@leecrumble3921 yea it was the jfg pwk 30mm. Built a custom chromed steel intake. I can tell you, it increased power to the point where my clutch slips if i pin it in any gear. So with your other mods, i would definetly look into HD clutch springs. (I also have 26" tires on it)
@@ElPatronGamefarm i built the intake myself from some scrap parts i had laying around from a snowblower teardown. I beleive it was 1.5" i.d. chromed carbon steel tubing. Also built a 2" custom header/mid pipe, to a low restriction mx style silencer for exhaust. Also added a gy6 dc12v powered adjustable timing cdi. Thing scoots pretty good, and runs way cleaner.
Just remember shitty low voc brake cleaner will lower/kill the rpm if there is a leak not rev it up Does the same job though 👍 The last good old school break clean that blasts cold and dries fast is John Deere General Putpose Solvent Nice video thanks I’m On here because the one I am working on had the same issue I took it apart and cleaned it now it revs good but loads up at idle I also goofed and didn’t count the turns on that idle mixture screw when I dissembled carb So hunting for that answer now
7mo ago, no update lol, I'm guessing you mean the approx 1/2" hose going into the motor, that's the PCV hose, it should go to the rubber intake thingy!
Did you ever check the needle coming down from The diaphragm. Put the old carburetor back on you will get your power back. Good job enjoy your videos. Tony
I've had the same problem with the one my wife has its a 1999 Bear Tracker 250 and I have the same exact problem I've done everything and cannot get the dead spot out of it any advice would be greatly appreciated
@@HotRodDave got a bruin 250. Replaced the carb with a cheap Chinese one and I figured it out today.. tore the old carb apart and the jets in the new Chinese one are way bigger then the stock carburetor. So when you give it gas it dies out or bogs down at half throttle Solution was to take 2 out of 3 of the jets out of the old carb and put them in the new one. I believe I had to change the main and the secondary jet. Runs perfect now. Tldr: new carbs have the wrong size jets
@@HotRodDave awesome I have a Yamaha Bear tracker 250 myself and it's an awesome little four wheeler I can ride me my wife and my two kids on it at the same time

You can adjust the air fuel mixture while it’s running you just need a very short flathead screwdriver

How do you put it in reverse

Use just a screwdriver bit by itself to adjust that screw while it's running
