Please let me help you with your math there Wattles. If you get a 16.7% chance of getting an armor trim and you have 3 chests the chance of getting at least one trim is 42.2%, not 50.1%. What you did was 16.7 * 3 = 50.1? The correct formula for this kind of calculation is, if x is the chance of getting something and y is the number of chances you get: z = 1 - ((1-x)^y). If x = .167, and y = 3, then z = .422

Actually, the chance to find the coast armor trim in a 3 chest shipwreck is below 50%
I believe you simply multiplied the 16.7% by 3, which results in 50.1%
However, that is not how random chance works.
Instead you need to take the negative case of not finding a trim
100% - 16.7% = 83.3%
and raise it to the third power
83.3% ^ 3 = ~57.8%
Since those are the odds of finding no trims, you need to once again look at the inverse case
100% - 57.8% = 42.2%
So the odds are actually less than 50/50, although they're still not bad odds
EDIT: this only applies for full shipwrecks. A lot of shipwrecks are missing one or two chests, so the real likelihood is a bit lower
Same thing with the Tide Trim. The actual odds with three Elder Guardians boil down to 48.8%

What does raising to the third power mean?

Basically you need to multiply it once with the chance of no trim spawning and do that for each chest. Since they all have the same odds, you can simplify that equation by using an exponent
So
83.3% * 83.3% * 83.3% = 83.3% ^ 3

Trimming Elytras should be the next step, I want my wings to look stylish too and they should also include echo shards as a trimming option(Idk about tools, probably couldn't see a difference). I feel like the Wandering Trader should have a chance to sell a random overworld trim since he's always traveling to distant lands.

I already colected 1 stack dimond blocks in my hardcore world and a half stack in the survival world with some friends and also a geat exp. Farm for entchantments and 1 and a half stacks ancient debres. So I concider myself as ready.

Wow thx for the tip I just got Silence Armor Trim right before i watch this video didn't know that the chances of that is extremely rare. Lucky for me I dupe that trim first before using it on my Armor. 😀

The first armor trim I ever found was the Wild Armor Trim in a Jungle Temple. It was pretty cool, but I think I’m gonna look for something a little better.
I really like the armor trims and I think it’s a really good addition to the game, but I have already explored almost all the structures with in a 10K radius of my base, at least u can duplicate them :)
You can use software to reset any chunks in your world. That way you keep the stuff you built, reload the rest, and get the new stuff easier
@@Draco8573 Thanks for the advice but, it will take a while, as when I go to a new biome like maybe a mangrove swamp to collect resources, I build a base there, and by now my world is filled with tiny bases and storage places, and shulkers lying everywhere around my world lol.

Try spire armor trim with gold on enchanted netherite. It looks amazing
Managed to find 4 Coast trims on a single shipwreck, feeling good about that
Took me about an hour, but I went to the end looking for end cities with the spire trim. I think it goes best with netherite armor. It was difficult finding it, but it was worth it.
I watched this video to know what the trims look like, this explains why the ribs trim was so hard to get, however the snout trim was quite easy, I had 3 in my first 15 minutes in 1.20, albeit I had an elytra
Found a couple trims in a pillager outpost…probably just gonna save them for a rainy day…however I also recently found an ancient city I’m hoping to get lucky with bc the trims in there are my favs

I found two raiser armor trims in a ruins that looked to have been a horse stead. Very cool

I like to organize these trims into groups for memorizing them. I go by "themes" Water, temple, pillager, archaelogy, ancient city, miscellaneous. Coast and tide, Sand Dune and Wild, Sentry and Vex, Host, Fraser, Shaper and Wayfinder, Ward and Silence. Then for misc Rib, Snout and Spire.

I was playing minecraft today, and I raided a ocean monument and I got one one these. I had no idea you could get one there lol.
I went into my second ancient city I ever went into in my world yesterday and got to chest number six and found my silence trim around a part of the structure that had no shriekers whatsoever. I almost did a damn backflip out of my chair!
For me , it's a tie between eye and silence , not to mention I'm a subscriber B)
What armer trim in having trouble getting is the Vex armer trim I even found the Silence Armer trim and have it in my armer in my survival would I also don’t have Ward.

One thing that i discovered while searching for the coast armor trim is that it has less than 16.7% of spawning (if not 0%) in the shipwrecks that have dark oak trapdoors

Hey so idk if bedrock experimental is different or I’m super lucky but I found two silence armor trims in the first ancient city I looked for and they really close together too
I actually found both snout banner pattern and trim first try!
For anyone wondering:
16.7% = 1 in 6 | 14.3% = 1 in 7 | 8.3% = 1 in 12 | 6.7% = 1 in 15 | 1.2% = 1 in 83.3
Idk why the Silence trim is 1.2% instead of 1%, but it is
i have opened 518 chests and still no silence. got a full stack of ward tho
1 to 1.2 is a significant increase in odds. In the end, it save you about 1 ancient city you DON'T have to find before you should find Silence.
Imo the snout armor trim is one of the best ones if not the best & it looks awesome with gold on netherite armor
I somehow managed to find the Sentry Armor Trim in my first Pillager Outpost, the Rib Armor Trim in my first Nether Fortress, and the Spire Armor Trim in my first End City on my survival world.
Did they change the inside of bamboo back to yellow or make Eco shards trimmable yet?

I like to put sentry on the helmet and chestplate, wild on the legs and snout on the boots. Restone for most of the trims but gold on the helmet, and put all that on a set of Iron armour. Very Medieval England and I find myself using Iron armour a lot honestly.
When I got my silence trim there was already 12 warden walking around the city. It was hard😢 but worth it😊.
A few days ago I found 3 ocean monuments, I killed 5 elder guardians and when I killed the 5th one I got the tide armor trim! :D

I personally think that the snout armor trim definitely suits netherite armor especially if you trim it with gold.
My favorite trim is Shaper without the pants.

Is there a different way to get the tide armor trim because I’m on my fourth ocean monument and still haven’t gotten one does the vertiginous matter because I am on hard mode
For reference on how painful the Silence trim is, on my hardcore world I got it on my 5th AC
A tip for the tide armor trim is that because it’s not in a chest it can be save scummed. So before going to kill a elder guardian save and quit the game. Then go back in kill the elder guardian(or all 3) if you don’t get the trim force quit the game(don’t save and quit) rejoin the world and it will put you back at the last save giving you more chances to get the trim because the drops of the elder guardian are different each time.

The silence trim chance (1.2) equates to one in eighty chests, an ancient city averages at about 30-45 chests so if you want to guarantee it you need about 2 ancient cities. Good luck, I’m attempting to get one myself on my survival world. Edit: I forgot to include the world generation factor so it could take anywhere from 2-20 depending on how the loot table generates and if you’re unlucky then well… I don’t know.

It still took 17 more cities and over 40000 blocks 😪

I love armor trims, I hunt them down all the time for my friends.
I personally wear silence on my chestplate and leggings and sentry on my helmet and boots all made of gold.
And my friend wears Redstone dune armor
FINALLY FOUND SILENCE TRIM! TOOK ME NINE CITIES
It took me 4 hours, raiding 3 different ancient cities, spawning the Warden like 50 times, disabling over 130 shriekers, and opening nearly every chest in those 3 ancient cities to find 1 silence armor trim. I found THIRTEEN enchanted golden apples before I found 1 silence trim. And yes, they were enchanted, not regular golden apples.
I got lucky with the Rib Armor Trim, because I went to the nether looking for a Bastion to get the upgrades for future use, but found another Nether Fortress nearly 1,500 blocks from my portal. There was 4 chests at the first couple corners of the entrance I went into, and found one of the trims. It seems desaturated on bedrock edition, with my Netherite Armor getting nearly no vibrancy. Amethyst was nearly invisible, and the diamond trim style looked like lapiz. Kind of underwhelming. Luckily, none of the other ones I found did that.
Was looking for silence and found a chest with 4 god apples in, the most I’d found before that was 2 so it was so cool, anyone know the odds of that?

I like Silence... because I have it. I was actually so confused because I found an ancient city by accident when I was looking around the caves under my starter cherry base and my main goal was swift sneak. I didn't get it. I got silence instead. Before getting ward or enchanted golden apple, I got silence 😎. RNG gods love me. Spend most of my diamonds duplicating the heck out of it when I realized this is indeed the 1% trim. And it is so gorgeous, isn't it? Mine goes from redstone to copper to gold and it's such a nice gradient on netherite.
As someone who found 3 God apples, one Silence and one Ward trims plus one other-side disc in one city, I consider myself lucky
Can you silk touch susblock and I got super lucky on my newly generated world had a anchent city directly under spawn and it even had the trim there didn't realize it was that low chance to get it
