Now I am so proud of that boy lost in the world...for his amazing alternative to the world he lived surrounded by choices.

Cillian Murphy was so epic in this AND he had a class A bunch of peers acting just the same with him. BEST crime drama I have ever seen! I HAD TO binge watch it at times. Had me on the edge of my seat!
I wonder where in the hell Steven Knight pulled this story out of his creative soul? Then again it was the music sound track that made this series high up on the satisfaction scale of cinema viewing.

Wow. Nick Cave wrote this song and basically knocked it out of the park with powerful production.
This is my first hearing of PJ's version and I love it. PJ knows how to make the song her own, toning it down so we lean in 🎶. This is an excellent example of her genius. Her new album I Inside the old Year Dying is another. ❤

Whenever I hear this song (every single time) I envision Tommy Shelby deep in the Birmingham projects in the manufacturing districts, walking with tight black leather driving gloves on, his hands held somewhat open but turned downward, his arms swaying widely down by his sides as he walks on, his iconic black coat flexing and rippling down around his legs, his eyes just, JUST out of sight.. walking with such immense purpose that if you were to step into his path, his purpose alone would skull fock your soul and Lucifer himself would remove you from Tommy’s path out of fear of retaliation from Tommy for the devil not holding up his end of the deal, to pave the way for Tommy’s bloody but wildly successful life. The steel workers’ flames and bits of hot metal, ash and sparks showering down around him. Symbolizing his eternal struggle after the war. Where, long ago, his “being” and soul perished. His body and mind somehow survived, he said everything afterward, from there on out, is extra. It is not taken as given, he will take everything he wants from there on out. Tommy is THE (singular) man.

God I fucking LOVE you PJ. This was just utterly perfect for the episode, right after her death.. it spoke so powerfully, especially with how Tommy was staring into nothingness, just purely numb. So hauntingly captivating 🥀

i remember this theme playing in season 3 and it got me kinda sad-
They should ask people like PJ, Nick Cave, Anna Calvi or Laura Marling for a guest appearance in the series.
Well I don’t know about Anna or Laura, but Nick and Polly can NOT act outside of a music video if their lives depended on it!! If they had either of them on a stage performing a song they’d be great, but anything more I’m afraid just ain’t their bag!
Nick Cave should do this. He made an appearance in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, for which he also composed the score.
Noor Gielen - he had one line in that (besides his singing) but whenever he delivered it everybody (quite rudely) fell about laughing. They gave the line to someone else. Yet while he’s singing he seems like the greatest actor ever! You should see him in the Brad Pitt film, "Johnny Suede". He is cringingly appalling. "Ghosts... of the Civil Dead" might be his best role.
