Now seeing Baker this year and especially in the interview with Allen where the interviewers completely disrespected Baker, I don’t either. The guy clearly has a rocket for an arm (not the best in the league but definitely top 8)

It just comes from people on both sides not understanding the reality of Baker Mayfield.
His haters don’t like to acknowledge good things that he’s done, or how well he can play when he’s at his best. (As well as the fact that his arrogance from college is all but gone).
His fans (and people on the outside looking in) don’t like to acknowledge his that he’s incredibly inconsistent, and while he has a high ceiling, his floor in insanely low, and lots of the ways that he contributed to instability get scapegoated.
Overall, he’s just a hot/cold mid QB. Baker at his best will give you elite play, but the amount of elite games you get from baker has always been inconsistent. He ranks really highly in bad throw percentage because he makes risky throws constantly. That’s why he can have an 8-10 INT season with some amazing throws, or 15-20+ ints and a terrible season.

Ive seen Dak throw an 80 yard pass at manning passing academy. Most of the strong arm qbs like Mahomes/Dak/Allen(maybe Hurts) can throw 80 yards without pads outside of a real game.
Ik u said maybe hurts but pretty sure his arm strength/down field accuracy is his biggest struggle 💀

Rodgers Hail Mary against the Lions was like 70+ yards. Watch the video of it. He lets it go from his own 35, and if nobody jumped up and caught it at the front of the end zone it’s going at least another 5-6 yards. Weird that that one isn’t in here, especially because it was a completion

@@joshlynn3012 that’s literally how the stat is kept. That’s why there’s never been a 100 yard passing TD in the NFL, because they don’t count yards behind the goal line or line of scrimmage. 99 yards is the longest possible play involving a forward pass for that reason.

@@DJHogue right, but the air yards are counted from the line of scrimmage, not where the QB is standing when he releases the ball. If the los is on the 50 and the QB drops back and throws it from his own 40 to a receiver on the goal line, that’s a 50 air yard pass, not 60.

The longest throw ever, college or pro, is going to be Kordell Stewart's 1994 Miracle at Michigan for a very long time. Go back and watch it. He throws that ball from the 27 yard line, and it gets tipped at the goal line, and caught in the end zone. He threw that ball 75 yards.
