    First video I've seen in a long time that actually gives out helpful tips that I haven't heard tons of times from beauty gurus.
    I also love that they explain the causes of the makeup problems we tend to run into. They're both obviously pros!

    Yes, yes, YES!! Fantastic tips! Now I need a few more recommendations - how to keep complexion products on the nose instead of being rubbed off by sunglasses AND how to prevent makeup from settling in smile lines. Thanks, loves! A little tip I’ve learned - keep a few dryer sheets handy to combat staticky hair in the winter!

    I would love a video on working with color drops and foundation; to change the undertone or make it cooler/warmer or less pink/more yellow. Everyone talks about white mixers for pale skin but for me, I have a lot of redness and then end up with a pink foundation and that combination just equals ashy/grey skin. I feel like no one talks about mixers, other than darkening and lightning. If there is a video, I would love a link. Thank you :)

      I’ve never tried this trick for under the eyes but for the sides of the nose, i put some eye shadow primer over the areas that usually fade, apply foundation over the area like normal and then bake the area. I try not to spray that area with setting spray as I find the drier the area, the better.

      I got a good tip about applying liner that to look away from the pencil. In other words, when you are applying in the inner corner of your eye, angle your head away from the mirror so you are looking out of the *outer* corner of your eye, and your pupil is away from the pencil. This works really well for tightlining.

    I keep a mini hairspray in my purse for 3 things, of course the fly aways are #1. #2 is my brows; I also keep a little disposable mascara wand that I grabbed from Sephora ;) and if your brows are falling (cause mine are unruly even with my gel!) you can just spray a little in the wand and it fixes it right up 😊 last is for runs in my tights! Clear nail polish is actually the best way to fix runs but you can’t do that when you’re wearing them but if you spray some hairspray where the run is starting, it keeps it from getting bigger throughout the day and you can fix it with nail polish when you get home 😊loved the tips here too! Especially the primer tips

    I never knew about the liner truck! Thank you!!! I love IGK speechless! It doesn’t weigh my fine hair down and bonus that I can fix my dry less with it. I hate lotions bc of the feel. This feels like nothing and wakes your skin up. It’s expensive for an oil but the multi use makes it worth the splurge

  • @youfoundheidi
    @youfoundheidi 6 лет назад

    A tip I can recommend has to do with hand lotion, which almost everyone has, and since it's non-aerosol it can even be in the car. If you have flyaway or static hair, put a small amount of lotion on your hands, rub it almost all the way in, then run it over/through your hair. You want a light film on the hands, so you can barely see it in order for it to work. Also, if you are dealing with static cling on clothing, use the same process, but run your hands underneath the clothes. It works on the outside of nylons too to keep your dress from clinging, just run lotioned hands over the nylons, and bye bye static cling. It works best with lotions that don't have heavy oils, as that can stain clothing, but it does work!

      I usually find it’s because the oil in the eye cream or moisturizer i’m using usually breaks down my mascara. I always have to bake my undereyes and really apply the powder up to the bottom lash line and the outer corners in order to prevent any oil from breaking down my mascara (especially since i wear waterproof mascara and oil is the primary ingredient that breaks it down). Applying my bake with a dampened makeup sponge that been throughly squeezed out into a towel helps my bake be 1000% more effective than using a dry sponge or brush to apply it.

    • @P3Nails
      @P3Nails 7 лет назад

      Scarlett Sexton are you setting your chin with powder? It sounds like the oil from you foundation and lipstick are grabbing each other. If you set your chin all the way up to your lip line with powder this should help. I clean up my lip line with concealer when it gets a little wonky and I always have to put powder even on that little line of concealer otherwise the lipstick kind of blends into it and then I’ve got a tint of color around my mouth. Like wth is that lol.

    • @P3Nails
      @P3Nails 7 лет назад

      Also, the powder could help to keep your foundation in place better when you try to fix the stain later. Use a damp beauty blender to press the powder in your chin to set. Then try the primer trick they showed in the vid. Should be gtg 😊

      becca311 I watched a video the other day on here from another youtuber. She was talking about creasing under the eye,but maybe this could work also for what your dealing with. she said not to add a lot of product under the eye and to only use your concealer there using a beauty blender to blend it out with that same sponge to immediately put which she used was Laura Mercier brightening powder to set it before it dried. I tried this yesterday and it worked for the most part. I would do it again. She brought her foundation up to where her under eye would start then used the concealer to do the rest and it looked nice couldn't tell She didn't have any foundation under her eyes. Everything blended well and she said don't let the concealer dry powder before it does she did both eyes and powered immediately after.

    • @davinalau1648
      @davinalau1648 7 лет назад +1

      Sometimes when I use a thicker powder (like a foundation powder) and apply it in sweeping/wiping motions with a paddle shaped powder brush, it tends to wipe some of my concealer away because the thick powder grabs onto my tacky concealer and the heavier wiping (or honestly sometimes even patting) motions with the brush will pick up the concealer. What I like to do is grab a loose translucent powder and bake my undereyes with a dampened makeup sponge. When you use a dampened makeup sponge instead of a brush, you are only applying the residue powder that isn’t actually touching the surface of the makeup sponge which means that you won’t be picking up any concealer with your sponge. Make sure to let it sit at least 30 seconds (to allow the concealer to fully set) and I actually prefer to use a very fluffy brush with a looser style of dual fibered bristles (something like the it cosmetics airbrush mega powder brush or eco tools airbrushed finishing brush) which will help sweep and buff away any excess powder with a featherlight touch. If there is any excess powder remaining, you can always go in with a fluffy blending brush meant for eyeshadow to lightly sweep away the rest.

    • @P3Nails
      @P3Nails 7 лет назад +1

      becca311 I use my damp beauty blender for setting my under eye. I have dry under eyes with fine lines so I have to set it or the creasing is crazy but I too find that brushes can remove the product at times. Try using the damp beauty blender to press the powder in and then go through all your other makeup. Then I use a tiny tiny bit more powder in a brush and super feather light brush the under eyes. Works every time. I do the last step because it helps smooth my lines but if you don’t have fine lines you may not need to do that last step. Hope that helps! Let me know if you try it 😊

      aleksandra83mercury so what I got from the video is that we can use primer to wipe away pigment like shadow liner and lipstick or lip stain because it leaves behind moisture instead of dryness like a makeup remover does its a Lil quick fix when you make a mistake or don't like the look you have

    I have a weird issue that maybe you guys can address at some point. Before I put on my eye shadow, I clean the eyelid, apply foundation, set it (these two steps done according to my research and do help but don't prevent the problem), use concealer for my primer (like it better than the eye primers I've tried), put on my shadow, then set that. But on one eye in particular, I literally have makeup disappear in a specific area sometimes (around the crease near my inner eye). It doesn't slide, it just goes away sometimes before I'm even done with my eyes!, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern I can discern to determine it'll happen. I've researched options and seem to be doing what I should to fight it, but these things don't always work. Help?

      Use blotting/patting motions with a paper towel. Never wipe or rub and definitely do not use toilet paper, it breaks up too easily.

    The toner/moisturizer trick - is that great for the smile lines? That is the most embarrassing! I'll be at an event all night and after, I have a huge hole on my left smile line... eeekkkkkk. Just spray with toner and pat??

      I’ve never personally tried this technique but my friend likes to puff out her cheeks while applying powder to bake her smile lines. That way the powder can better settle into the lines (since it’s pulled taut) especially if you have deeper lines that may be a little harder to completely reach by just patting the powder on top

    Omg yes that eye primer tip got me through my SrA certification!! My new favorite tip (from Kym Volk!) is to set/refresh dry undereye concealer with setting spray! Take a barely damp beautyblender, spritz the point very lightly, and LIGHTLY press it over concealer to set dry under eyes, or to refresh your concealer to touch up!

      But I have done it before to go with the monochromatic look which can look cool. Honestly no rules in my opinion.

    Wouldn't applying an oil break down the make up?! Oil removes make up, so how would adding on make up not do the same thing?

    How would I fix a pimple that may show up through my foundation as the day goes on?

    • @davinalau1648
      @davinalau1648 7 лет назад +2

      I like to apply a very sheer layer of a translucent eyeshadow primer over the blemish and then pinpoint apply a thicker concealer with an eyeliner brush all over the area. I only blend around the edges of the blemish to help concealer look like it seamlessly transitioned to surrounding foundation (I found that if I blend over the actual blemish itself, I tend to blend away too much of the concealer and the redness will show up again) and make sure to set with a powder (sometimes I even like to press a thicker foundation powder on top like the Kat Von D Lock It Powder Foundation). A lot of the times the blemish pops back up during the day or just refuses to get covered up by even the most pigmented concealers is because blemishes usually have an extremely smooth surface since the skin is being pulled taut from the blemish which means that the concealer has nothing to hold on to. Finding the right concealer for your skin (for example I prefer the Nars Soft Matte Concealer over Make Up Forever Full Coverage Concealer or even Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage although all three are amazing for spot concealing) in addition to the thin layer of eyeshadow primer will help the concealer to better grab onto the skin on your blemish.

    toners are the second step in the skin care rutine,
    use to lift the skin and also to remove the excess of dirt on the face after cleanser (first step). don't use toner more than one per day. If your going to give advice get informed whit a dermatologist or aesthetician.

    I'm an expert at getting mascara on my top lid and ruin the eyeshadow. Every single time! What am I doing wrong? It's even worse when I'm in a hurry in the morning before going to work. I often tend to poke my eye with the mascara and then have a really irritated red eye that won't stop crying and all the eye makeup is all smeared out and I have to take it all off.

      Mon Soymon I don't know if you're already doing this, but try looking down while applying top mascara (so hold your mirror lower than your eyes), and looking up when applying bottom mascara (hold your mirror up like you're taking a selfie). Take your time when getting ready to go out (because you're not going to save enough time if you're rushing to make much of a difference in the long run anyway, since it basically amounts to seconds) and especially with spiky wands, practice when you have nowhere specific you need to be and learn how close you can comfortably get to your eye without stabbing yourself. Hope that's helpful! ☺

    Could you guys help me and my oily lids? I have tried every high end eye primer (Nars, urban decay, too faced, smash box) and I use good quality shadows, stuff from tarte mostly, and my eye shadow fades in 10 minutes after applying!!! It is so shameful for a makeup junky like me that my eye looks are always faded. Any advice on getting stuff to stay on super oily lids?

      @haspletzer22 7 лет назад

      abo3791 I believe smashbox has a new one (not the 24 hour one). It pretty much looks like a concealer and I've heard that, that one is the best one for oily lids. Oily girls swear by Mac paint pot too.
