Would you be willing to try and make videos about Godzilla and King Kong when it comes to their stories(depending on there versions)there is a lot of stuff about loss, loneliness, tragedy and nature's power, rules and our connections with her(good and bad). Although you will probably need to do some diging until you will be able to make videos about them. Also your Kung fu panda videos are great👍.
You know if you think about it the thing about Tigris about her growing bitter if Poe never opened up to her or if she met the other members of the five she would have just been like tai lung
The scroll will show the self when clarity into self is achieved. But clarity is just one point in time. Consensus is the human ordeal. It is what unifies us. But due to its strong influence it also confuses us. So the dragon scroll is meant to temper consensus. Thus it brings clarity into others.
To me,the best moment of Po is when,on the second movie,he has his final fight with Lord Shen. (Which is my favorite villain out of the 3 movies kek) Because you can see that he,after everything Shen did to him,all the PTSD,all the pain,he wasn't fighting him. He was defending himself. He didn't wanted to fight Shen. Bro this is gold
" Your mind is like murky water my friend, if it is clouded it becomes difficult to see, but if you allow it to settle, the answer becomes clear " :- also Oogway
I love how this question comes together in each movie: - I'm not a fat Panda. I'm the fat Panda (Accepting his abilities) - I am Po. And I'm gonna need a hat (Acceping himself) -Am I the son of a Panda? the son of a goose? A student? A teacher? Turns out I'm all of them. I am the dragon warrior( fully embracing all facets of himself, both his past and the present and striving towards the future)
As fitting this quote may be: Tyrion Lannister "Never forget who you are, the rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor and it can never be used to hurt you."
Every Kung Fu Panda villain was a dark reflection of the lessons Po had to learn in each film: Tai Lung was the body. He craved the power behind the Dragon Scroll and, in his own words, "trained until [his] bones cracked". He was fit, skilled, strong, and fast, everything Po wasn't. Yet, he did not have the capacity to understand that true power came within, not an external source and thus, his quest was doomed to fail. Shen was the mind. He was shackled by the past and incapable of moving on or coping with it in a healthy way. Instead of reflecting on his actions, he continues down his self-destructive path to the very end. Po, however, learns his past, accepts it, and chooses to be a good person in the here and now. Shen is what Po could have been if he let the darkness of his past consume his present and future. Kai was the spirit. Where Po shared his chi and received it by those who were willing to save his life, Kai simply stole it and could never understand it the way Oogway, and later Po, did. To Kai, chi was simply a key to more power. To Po, it was the final step in his self-realization; the son of a goose, a panda, the dragon warrior; he was all of them. This is surprisingly deep stuff for a franchise called Kung Fu Panda and I don't think it gets enough credit for how well it handles its themes.
I really like that in order to get stronger he didn't have to lose weight. His outer appearance didn't change at all but he still built up muscle and he learned how to fight. I don't know. I think it's a good message.
yeah both of you are right po gains muscle under the fat but does not lose the fat in order to have more weight behind hits and to better manipulate enemy body's but in order to do this he learned to fight from shifu and oogway
In this case I think Po couldn't lose weight simply because he's a Panda. Pandas are very large and sedentary creatures that spend most of their existence eating and sleeping. Po was a Panda to his very core, he couldn't change who he was. But it's because he eventually accepted himself for who he was and used the fact that he was a Panda to his advantage was what made him such a great Kung Fu master.
That moment in the first movie where Po says no matter how many times Shifu hurt him he was never able to hurt him as much as "just being me," could hurt is where I think Kung Fu Panda really shows how mature and emotionally intense this film series can be.
Dude..are you straight up a sensei?! Between that calm, focused voice and yr balanced approach and understanding of characters, you seem like an actual sensei!
@@jet-blackjo2455 This is exactly what we need to realize. Through the course of life we come across many living and non-living things, from whom we have something to learn. Our entire life is nothing but a curve of learning and spreading our knowledge.
My favorite movie is the second. The first dreamworks movie to ever make me cry. How Po deals with his trauma through inner peace, and how you can see shifu’s calmness between the first and second movie, showing he acheived it. Po’s final fight with Shen shows that while yes, Po hates Shen for what he did, he also knows there is nothing he can do but defend. Yin and Yang. Perfect balance. Also, my favorite scene is the one where it shows the journey of Po’s Mom’s love through the raindrop that flows through Po’s arms. You can see his pain throughout, but he is making peace with himself. So tell me, Po, who are you?
The only part of this that I disagree with, is about Po hating Shen. I just don't think he has the capacity to truly hate anyone. Sure, he doesn't understand why facing Shen is so hard for him until he faces his own trauma, but even after that, during the final fight, he doesn't face him with anger, he doesn't want to kill him, or make him pay for what he's done. He still comes to him with compassion after everything that's happened. No, I don't think he hated Shen; but once he understood Shen, once he understood how Shen's own character drove him to do the horrible things he did, he still believed there was a chance to redeem him. Shen died by his own choice, but Po still held out a hand to him to save him from himself.
Didn’t realize how much I need this. Especially the stuff about the Chinese mythos of the dragon; it filled me with a new sense of hope and purpose. Thank you!
Movie 1: One cannot be a true teacher or student if they never let go of failure. Movie 2: One cannot be free unless they know and come to terms with all of themselves. Movie 3: It is in confrontation of the past that one finds the path to the future.

This was a incredible look into Po and why he’s a fantastic character all 3 films showcased powerful and valuable lessons about accepting who you are discovering your sense of the self the past does not define you and achieving inner peace. The first film was the body the second was the mind and the third was the spirit Kung Fu Panda is one of the greatest trilogies because of being well throughout out and masterfully handled. And this video showed that perfectly and incredibly well as always thank you so much for the amazing content you always deliver.
Kung Fu Panda is way deeper than one can expect at first impressions. This show has a perfect example of what true self love and acceptance looks like.
Po as a character is the definition of the hero's journey. He started out as pretty much nothing, but he had dreams, and desires of kung fu and becoming a master himself. Others put him down for it, even his own adoptive father. However, Po did give until he realizes that he has potential as everyone learns in their own way. Throughout the films, Po is constantly being challenged, almost like life is preparing Po for something... a goal to achieve each time. When it comes to goals there come challenges, struggles, and obstacles. This is why Oogway chose him as he was everything but wanted Po to see it for himself. Even though Po's journey is essentially over, there is a chance that it's still going on. Po may be happy and fulfilled with all he has done but there might still be more for Po to learn still. Like for example, what if Tai Lung returned how would Po deal with him? Or if Shifu goes away similar to Oggway how will he get through it? This is why Po is a character you should root for and believe in, which is why I love him as a character as I can relate to him when I was growing up. I know this may be long but I thank you for taking the time to read this. You earned a subscription from me.
One of the things that I always felt was overlooked was the Wu Shi Finger Hold. Po talked about how it was one of the most feared techniques, able to take down even the strongest of martial artists. Even Tai long, who was a master of martial arts, hadn’t learn the technique because it was passed down and Shifu hadn’t taught it to him. Yet Po, even though he had only seen it once, figured it out and used it to defeat Tai long and sent Kai back to the spirit realm. Like Po said, the Dragon Warrior would be a master of the ancient arts
"Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. That you will stay who you are. Not a perfect soldier, but a good man." Po was more than just a Kung Fu master, he was a good man.
Tigress is one of my favourite characters and her character ark over the 3 movies is something I can truly relate to and is the perfect embodiment of being a serious person yet still a good friend and person to those around you.
Po is one of my favorite characters of all time. I have asked myself a million times who am I? I don't know who I am but I hate myself. I thought I had to change to find that out. And it was impossible for me find a confident person I love in myself. But seeing Po's journey in becoming confident and believing in himself makes it all feel possible.
I watched King Fu a panda yesterday after having not watched it for ages, and then this video comes out?! As master oogway would say “There are no accidents”
Notice how every Kung Fu Panda villain is a dark mirror of an aspect of Po… - Tai Lung = breaking free of their chains - Lord Shen = facing and embracing destiny - Kai = leaving behind a legacy
Yesss, I really wished for another Kung Fu Panda video, I think one question everyone needs to answer for himself is: Who am I when the world tells me who I should be? I think the Kung Fu Panda trilogy displays this perfectly by going from a Po who doesn’t want be himself to a confident Po who answers this question with "I‘m Po!“
No one would expect Oogway to be the greatest kung fu master ever, hes a turtle. Same with Po. Oogway was always the proof that Po could step into his role.
Im not gonna lie, i feel like I needed to hear your analysis. It made my mind clearer on my own personal journey that being able to understand and remember “who am i”. Thank you so much it honestly made me cry by how you word things. Thank you and have a good rest of your day sage.
One of my favorite trilogies of all time! I recently rewatched the first movie, and the way it blends action, comedy, and conflict is so masterfully executed. Timeless
What I love about the first movie is that it shows through Po that nobody is able to change who they are (a panda), but that they can change something (Kung Fu) to work for them. Po didn't have to change, he just made it possible with adjusting the training and looking at his somewhat flaws to work as advantages (like his belly to push the tiger away from him). I think this is a great lesson for children: if it doesn't work out right away, you can make it work for you with dedication and self-acceptance.
To me Kung fu panda will always be one of the best trilogies in animation history it has so much depth and so many lessons that can be seen in all the movies, and for a "kids" movie it teaches you so much about knowing ones self
I've only been viewing a few of your videos for a couple days, now. But your viewpoint that I've been able to witness throughout the videos that I HAVE watched, are each well descripted & represented. I applaud you. I may be no one. But the chance to have a one on one conversation with you on any conversation would be very appreciated.
These films are better written than more than half the films coming out in current day. All I can say is.. Message. The kind this world and future generations need.
I had caught the circular symbolism between his dream in the first movie and clothing in the third but I never got that Oogway's stuff was part of it. Damn these movies always have something new to discover about them
I already know this is a great video because I watch your videos a lot, but I just came here because I am watching “Garden of Words” and I say the “rainy river” image that you always use. Great taste.
Rewatching KFP 1 and 2 as an adult made me realize how good the messages in them were and still are. My favorite one is the Soothsayer's "Your past does not define you" lesson to Po.
Make one for Sasuke, his philosophy changes throughout the series and you could easily talk about Sasuke's character and his philosophy for an hour or two, he is deeply written so it will probably pay off.
Im so glad you blew up the way you did my guy. I cry way too much st these videos sometimes but fr absolutely stunning editing and your voice be like chocolate 😂
Love the Kung fu panda content literally the greatest movies and works of art ever written. So much personality and something so many people can relate to.
The one thing I really dig about KFP and other great movies from Dreamworks in general, is that they all portray underdog protagonists (eg. Shrek, Po, Hiccup, etc), and grow them in more ways than just getting out of their lowly status and accepting themselves. For example, in Shrek 4, Shrek went through 2 movies ( not including 3) worth of developing his relationship for Fiona and growing to accepting his ogre demeanour and mannerism despite common stereotypes posed upon him. In 4, he goes kinda through a backwards development with him wanting to go back to the old days without Fiona and Donkey, reveling in his old self. This works because the whole thing with Rumpel’s deal pressured Shrek to change and to think about his choices and to remember the development he went through. Same case for Po here. Instead of just sticking with an underdog story, KFP grows Po as a person through different aspects that most people tend to brush off. Good Video, Sage.
You video about po really helped me to stop being Worried about my future , and I have to make sure that I won't fall just because I'm afraid of who I was in the past.Action speacks louder the words💙💙
Hello there!! I discovered your Chanel trought that Taí Lung vídeo. Now i honestly love this Chanel, even subscribed already. Keep up the good work friend. Greattings from Brazil!! 🙌
I grew up with Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon. The lessons that were taught in these movies were what helped me shape my own personality over the years. Thank you for keeping these characters alive even after all these years. And of course your videos are always top tier.
I always loved Kung fu panda, having watched the first film a million times when I was a kid Years passed by and I had watched at the cinema the other two films, with Shen scaring the hell out of me and I still remember how cool was Tai's entrance music. Being quarantined in the last week, I just rewatched the trilogy and discovered all the hidden messages and philosphies that only when life happens you can rrally appreciate, expecially the doubt in Po's mind in the second film of acceptance of whatever he is and the human growth he endured. Best pixar saga hands down
Honestly, Tai Lung is my favorite animated enemy ever. Not just because of his cool attacks and how he almost beat Po. But its about how much Tai Lung and Po have in common. Both raised by different species fathers, they both thought at first that the title of Dragon Warrior meant power, and control of others, but what strikes different about Tai Lung is the way he went about getting revenge. The Furious 5 was brought together so another Dragon Warrior could be chosen, and protect everybody from the possible threats that could arise. When The 5 lost to Tai Lung, Master Shifu had to use Po, with the title of The Dragon Warrior. Shifu was so fearful that Tai Lung was going to wreak havoc if given the scroll. But Po understands what the scroll being blank means, but Tai Lung doesn't. Tai Lung wants Shifu's approval and the power of the Dragon Scroll. Po wanted the same thing before, but when taught he learned that the scroll wasn't about power and control, it was about peace, and defending those who need it. Tai Lung was going to defeat anybody he needed to to gain the scroll. Even though Oogway denied him, he accepted Po. Tai Lung took Shifu's love and training for granted. Just so he could have the power, and Po came to defend the scroll and keep it out of Tai Lungs paws. The one bad thing about the first movie, is the last fight scene. It just didn't make sense, as if it was trying to make fun of Tai Lungs power and dreams. Just kind of a waste of potential there.
he understood what the scroll being blank meant INDIRECTLY thanks to his stepfather mr. ping, and it was about how the "secret power" actually comes from within and the last fight scene was po finally starting to throw hands, showcasing that "secret power", thus humiliating and destroying tai
This series is underrated and deserves more praise for a lot of good advice and good story of self worth. I used the watch the first movie like crazy as a young tween.
That stuff about who you are being dynamic and something that you can always choose is such an incredibly profound message, indeed you can have done terrible things, but that does not define you as a person. You really are what you choose to be in the moment, not in the future or in the past. Also, I am just now realizing how good the lighting and environments were in these movies
I would really love to hear your thoughts on the themes of What if Episode 6’s ending. Unrelated to this video but your black panther episodes is one of my favorites
Thank you for doing this video so that I now have an alternative to Cosmodore's analysis on the series since I just learned about him being a groomer three days ago.
Thank you for this analysis video. I love kung fu panda; it’s one of my favourite movies in this medium and general. I love the hero's journey, and Poe is a great character who I connect with and listen to his story about identity and confidence and who you want to be in the present is something I find inspiring. I’m dealing with my anxiety about my future career, but hearing all of this puts me in more perspective in my life, and I’m going to take it to heart and try to be better. "humanity of Eren jaeger"
catch me in a few months 💯
Im not gonna lie, i feel like I needed to hear your analysis. It made my mind clearer on my own personal journey that being able to understand and remember “who am i”. Thank you so much it honestly made me cry by how you word things. Thank you and have a good rest of your day sage.
You’re breakdowns are unmatched! Great video!
One of my favorite trilogies of all time! I recently rewatched the first movie, and the way it blends action, comedy, and conflict is so masterfully executed. Timeless
“Identity is dynamic and fluid” I really like that
how did it take me years to realize the dots under po's nose
i also still believe to this day that Po and Tigress had a thing for each other and were somewhat more then just friends = )
In my opinion I’d say this is a perfect trilogy
What I love about the first movie is that it shows through Po that nobody is able to change who they are (a panda), but that they can change something (Kung Fu) to work for them. Po didn't have to change, he just made it possible with adjusting the training and looking at his somewhat flaws to work as advantages (like his belly to push the tiger away from him). I think this is a great lesson for children: if it doesn't work out right away, you can make it work for you with dedication and self-acceptance.
An excellent video, Sage; thanks for sharing
You will never be rid of the way others might define you.
You will only care about it differently
To me Kung fu panda will always be one of the best trilogies in animation history it has so much depth and so many lessons that can be seen in all the movies, and for a "kids" movie it teaches you so much about knowing ones self
as all children movies should be. Teaching and inspiring instead of flashy effects, colors and explosions
I absolutely love Po; he is so amazing for the very reasons you are talking about.
This video gave me goosebumps. You're a true wordsmith. Genius.
That moment when a movie about a fighting panda is better than most other animated movies.
Oh boy this sums up Po's journey soo well
Very well made😊
Master sage with another banger!
These films are better written than more than half the films coming out in current day. All I can say is.. Message. The kind this world and future generations need.
Sage's Rain, love your videos man. Love the dialog. Love the ideas you share. It's awesome.
I had caught the circular symbolism between his dream in the first movie and clothing in the third but I never got that Oogway's stuff was part of it.
Damn these movies always have something new to discover about them
I think the 3rd film and Kai is hugely underrated.
I already know this is a great video because I watch your videos a lot, but I just came here because I am watching “Garden of Words” and I say the “rainy river” image that you always use. Great taste.
Kung fu panda is that one movie that ill look back an still enjoy it
This way kung fu panda was one of my favourite movies
Rewatching KFP 1 and 2 as an adult made me realize how good the messages in them were and still are. My favorite one is the Soothsayer's "Your past does not define you" lesson to Po.
Whenever I watch this I get goosebumps ,this trilogy shows that we cannot be perfect but we can be our best self , thanks for making this video
The goat has uploaded
a beatiful end to a jorney
dream works announcing kung fu panda 4
One thing I just noticed is that Shifu ended up learning more from Po than Po learnt from Shifu.
So true haha that's an awesome detail
Wonderful work. Thank you for the time and work you put in to this piece.
Make one for Sasuke, his philosophy changes throughout the series and you could easily talk about Sasuke's character and his philosophy for an hour or two, he is deeply written so it will probably pay off.
I love to say “What you’ve done is not as important as what you do.” Love that you (seem to) agree. 🥰🥰🥰
4:19 The thing that I can say about kai is like he's the most overpowered but not really the best villain out of the 3. Like he's good, not great.
Im so glad you blew up the way you did my guy. I cry way too much st these videos sometimes but fr absolutely stunning editing and your voice be like chocolate 😂
Love your videos, man! Are you going to analyze Stephanie Brown's role in the Batfam? She's my favorite! ♥️💜
The most best/most sad scene for me is the one of him where he is in the second movie and the soothsayer saying “Who are you?”
This analysis had me crying. Such a great lesson!
This makes me want to rewatch all three films.
What a wonderful interpretation of the movie!! It is so touching and insightful! Thank you!
You video about po really helped me to stop being
Worried about my future , and I have to make sure that I won't fall just because I'm afraid of who I was in the past.Action speacks louder the words💙💙
10/10 my cat loved you, first time I can take a shower without him crying
this is the greatest comment ever
Sages rain is my addiction
I always loved Kung fu panda, having watched the first film a million times when I was a kid
Years passed by and I had watched at the cinema the other two films, with Shen scaring the hell out of me and I still remember how cool was Tai's entrance music.
Being quarantined in the last week, I just rewatched the trilogy and discovered all the hidden messages and philosphies that only when life happens you can rrally appreciate, expecially the doubt in Po's mind in the second film of acceptance of whatever he is and the human growth he endured.
Best pixar saga hands down
However you managed to make me drop tears about this question and the way these films explore it, thank you.
Just kind of a waste of potential there.
he understood what the scroll being blank meant INDIRECTLY thanks to his stepfather mr. ping, and it was about how the "secret power" actually comes from within
and the last fight scene was po finally starting to throw hands, showcasing that "secret power", thus humiliating and destroying tai
Also, I am just now realizing how good the lighting and environments were in these movies
yes have been waiting for a new video
Gorgeous essay, one of the best i've seen.
You summarized pretty well the deep reflections the perfect trilogy leaves its viewers, i love the work you did with this video, keep it up
I would really love to hear your thoughts on the themes of What if Episode 6’s ending. Unrelated to this video but your black panther episodes is one of my favorites
Thank you for doing this video so that I now have an alternative to Cosmodore's analysis on the series since I just learned about him being a groomer three days ago.
And I've spent the last few days really wishing we got a fourth film, but this analysis is making me realize that Po's arc wraps up nicely in three.
hello from 2023, we ARE getting a KFP4@@skylerb97
Every Kung Fu Panda villain is safe up until the sky turns gold
"Noodles, don't Noodles" said a very wise tortoise
Watching this hurts me after seeing the 4th
always a good day when you upload
I like that he adds sponsors to the end of the video instead of the beginning, really awesome stuff right there.
Would you say the Kung Fu Panda series has now become underrated?
no, i wouldn’t
Thank you for this analysis video. I love kung fu panda; it’s one of my favourite movies in this medium and general. I love the hero's journey, and Poe is a great character who I connect with and listen to his story about identity and confidence and who you want to be in the present is something I find inspiring. I’m dealing with my anxiety about my future career, but hearing all of this puts me in more perspective in my life, and I’m going to take it to heart and try to be better. You and Poe have influenced me. Thank you
