Yep, most likely caused by the missing screw. Open up the front diff to see how the teeth are. From my understanding the LC diffs are different so don't think that gear will work for you

As far as the diff failing i own 2 of these and same problems. I fixed mine by locking the diff completely with jb weld and haven't had no other problems running 1/10 scale buggy tires 5900kv brushless 120amp esc,, supper fun
Those cars you have to grease the diffs before first run. I bought disassembled and modified all issues. Hmm emb gears racing? Let us know if they fit.
J.b. weld the diff if u just want to forget about the diff problem it may drift little more but it's better than a diff that's made if soft metal inside my front diff is still ok probably cuz the back diff is taking the load off also the screwsthat hold the drive shaft cups inside the diff WILL SHEAR OFF if u tighten it too much so replace them or be careful when tightening them other than the diffs tires will go bald quick on asphalt those r the 2 main problems still VERY IMPRESSIVE MACHINE FOR THE PRICE
I think the internals fit but not the out drive to the center shaft, so no, it doesn’t fit. I know because I tried doing the same before I dumped Wltoys and went full LC Racing.
Additional thought, maybe the diff had too much free movement between the spider and side gears. Without full engagement of the teeth you would lose a lot of load bearing capacity and wear the teeth more quickly. For the next one, if still running more power or more tire/traction, open up the diffs and shim the inside gears (either the sides or the spiders or both) for minimal backlash and full gear engagement, but not so much it cogs. The missing screw probably also didn't help with keeping everything properly aligned under load.
ha ha...I like that idea and I can run it now. Might def. try it while I wait. Thanks man!! Hope those other gears fit, make sure to replace that missing screw, with that extra power if it had just a hair of play with that screw missing it probably caused it to slip and check the little gears in the diff they might have bad spots on them know.
I've replaced mine with metal gears. Lasted only 5 batteries. I noticed a little play in there so I bent the shims ever so slightly to provide more meshing. Hopefully these next set of metal gears last longer. Maybe change to powder alloy or even epoxy it all up.
