You and I will venture into the sprawling metropolis that is Panama City. Panama is often shunned by tourists for not being like Colombia and nominally less exotic than other places. People are sorely missing out. The reality is clear, Panama is vastly underrated and is one of the most comfortable experiences I have had as a traveler.

I am from just outside Colon. Arco Iris (Rainbow City). Thanks for covering and noticing the vibe.
I'm going to Panama soon so I'm watching all these Panamanian travel videos. Yours are awesome! Even the parts with the history lessons
Thank you so much my brother… If you have any Panama questions just ask 🔥🔥🙏🏾!
I just went to Panama last week and miss it already. Really enjoyed your video and also walked the same street to Casco Viejo. A local told us to go that way. He also said don't turn down any side streets but we could not help it because the artistic graffiti drew us in. From the fish market and China town to Casco Viejo to the center of the city we enjoyed walking. We stayed at Playa Bonita and enjoyed the serenity of watching cargo ships lined up to enter towards the Panama canal. We only had a week and it was not enough. Still so much more to see. It helps to speak at least some Spanish as many places we went the people did not speak English. Anyway throughly enjoyed your video even the history. Thanks for sharing.
Keenan please give people the history when you can it’s worth it. And as far as the culture Panama is rich in culture. If you go to Panama and only stay in one spot you will miss out on a lot.
Thank you Saey! I will keep it coming!
It is so good to see a brother do a video with class and not all the theatrics with your Barry white Voice. Im organize
I was in Panama 3 years ago. I was walking around like you, but I was wondering how the locals knew I was a tourist. I went back to my hotel room, did a little research, found out locals don’t wear shorts. I took the shorts off, pants on, and not another person looked at me. A lot of them don’t wear sunglasses either. Very interesting city.
Lol ! That's funny
Sherry its a real thing! Did you like Panama City? Something I noticed here is that people didn't scatter and run once they saw the camera. There was widespread indifference..... :D
If you’re a foreigner they know right away because of the way you speak ( if you speak Spanish of course) every Spanish speaking country speaks differently. Shorts and shades only at the beach, they will look at you like 🤔 where are you going or where were you coming from ?
Hi this is Sherry’s husband. I’m the one who was in Panama City. It seems that the locals were focusing on making a living and didn’t really pay attention to outside forces. They did take time to answer questions and were very friendly to me. I would like to go back with the wife for a visit but she’s not too interested.
What's with the no shorts? That's so weird.
This is good content, my family is from Colon & Playa Chiquita near Congo river. They all still live there so it’s cool to see an American viewpoint of where my family is from. The history lessons were 🔥
Thank you so much.... You have to come over to my Colon video then... It's a must....
Thanks for the history- my grandfather was from Panama its nice getting to see where hes from can wait to visit!!!
Good 👍 job on video, I happen to like history which lets me understand the deeper issues of an area
I think your insights about caribbean history are interesting. Remember, the Caribbean history is something of the most undocumented one of modern times, you discovering JAmaican settlemens in Guatemala and talking about Garifuna, how their villabe in barrio rasto was segregated, this makes your channel stand out (all others are partyand puxxy) and I will always be an admirer if your curiosiry and bringing us these stories. It's not just puxxy, believe me you can get bored of it, but learning about human history and its nuances, will stick for longer..
Thank you so much family.... I really appreciate doing the Caribbean cultural content WWAYYYY more than the chica chica content.... I know that some guys need that sort of content to stay engaged so I try to produce nightlife content that includes deep cultural elements to make it a covertly enriching experience.... Thank you for recognizing the intention.... I feel like some of my work here is underappreciated at times.... Big upsss
we love when u give facts with history its amazing
Thank you family! I'll keep it coming!
That small pool and how impressed you looked made me laugh. Really enjoying your videos, man. Keep 'em coming! (P.S. Keep adding historical tidbits)
Ozzzzy bless up bless! Mannn that pool was such a let down… But hey $40 can only go so far
I really appreciate your videos and as a history major- right up my alley. This video shows the Panamá that feels familiar to me from when I lived there in the 90s. And your Colón video inspires me to visit. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos!
Thanks for watching these Sarah! I am history minor.... with major in Poly Sci w/ Conc. in Urban and American Politics and Policy. However, history is easily my first love. I enjoyed banging around the streets of Panama City all the way.... The Colon video I put a little extra into because I wanted to speak to the movements and culture of the Colonesa/Afro-Antillean Panamanian people... Grew up with many of them in Brooklyn & I wanted to get that video right for them! Thanks again my friend!
@@KeenanLambert198 A country like Panama we want to to know the history of our West indian ancestors and their descendants. I visited and loved the country but not to see our people in Colon especially neglected after their hard work building the canal. Some of the money from earning from the canal since the American government handed over the canal of the Panama government should be reinvested in jobs and housing for the people of colon.
@@marlenepollard4982 100%, better must come for our brothers and sisters in Colon. I think we agree that there needs to be a “redevelop Colon tax fund” collected from the canal revenue to improve the situation in Colon…. I cried after going to the Antillean museum in Panama… The neglect is real and the inability to fix the situation is upsetting…

Love my Panamá! I've lived here 11 yrs! Traveled a lot but pty is home. She stole my heart my 1st visit in 2009. It's the culture. By US standards. Some ppl have LESS than nothing..but they are happy.. and generous..and proud. Spent every Sunday my 2st years here strolling Ave Central. "No hay nada mejor"
I love it Janet!!!! Panama is such an underrated place for travel! I'm glad you fell in love with the place.
I travel there annually to enjoy the very rich culture, the food, clubs, shopping, and fishing in Gatun ! Thanks for the video!!!
Excellent!? I like to fish too! What do you find out there?!
@@KeenanLambert198 I fish Arrenosa and Gatun, peacock bass mainly. Arrenosa is a longer drive but the fishing is awesome (Gatun is big and very deep, Arrnosa not so much). We normally hire someone to take us out. They provide everything. On Arrenosa, when you;re done for the day, there is a restaruant right on the lake that will cook what you catch and make an awesome lunch for you. Make that run, you won't be disappointed.
Ok im on a roll now , great video thank you.🕺

HAY KEENAN WHADDA GWAAN, I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS EARLIER BEFORE I LEFT FOR PANAMA BACK IN JANUARY 2023 AND STAYED UNTIL APRIL 11. I LOVED PANAMA. I STAYED 3.5 WEEKS IN SANTA ANA AND EL CHORILLO IN A AIR BNB DOWN THE STREET FROM CAFE COCA COLA THAT WAS DURING CARNIVAL. GOOOD VIBES, FRIENDLY PEOPLE, THE FOOD WAS WICKED SINCE I,M HALF JAMAICAN BORN IN THE USA BUT LIVES IN GERMANY OVER 45 YRS I COULD RELATE TO THE PANAMANIAN CUISINE. YES THE IN THE AREA I STAYED WAS MANY POOR PANAMANIANS BUT THEY WAS HAPPY, BUT THEY GOT THEIR HUSTLE ON JUST LIKE IN JAMAICA NOT WAITING FOR A HAND OUTS. I DID THE ROOFTOP CLUBBING THING, TOOK A TOUR WIT A LOCAL AND FOUND MANY HIDED GEMS THAT THE NORMAL TOURIST WOULD NOT FIND. FOR ME ITS A BLACK MAN PARADISE. WENT TO COLON 3 TIMES AND PORTOBELLO 2 TIMES ANQD ISLA EMMEY. STAYED 8 DAYS IN BOCAS DEL TORRE, AND STAYED 10 DAYS @RIO MAR IN SAN CARLOS BLOODY AWESOME MAN, SPEND SOME TIME IN DAVID AND BOQUETE, I WANTED TO GO TO SAN BLAS BUT MY OLD LADY FLEW FROM GERMANY TO PANAMA TO GET ME, SHE THOUGHT I HOOKED UP WITH SOME ONE BECAUSE I STOP CHECKING IN. AND SHE IS LATINA. SO I HAD TO CANCEL SAN BLAS OR GET SERVED WIT DIVORCE PAPERS. LOL I HAD A BLAST AND I SPEAK VERY LITTLE SPANISH BUT I,LL WILL RETURN NEXT YEAR WIT A BETTER KNOWLEDGE OF SPANISH. OH DID YOU EAT AT EL CARIBE IN EL CANGREJO. ITS ONE OF THE BEST SPECIALLY THE OXTAILS. I WAS GLAD I SAW YOUR VIDEO BEFORE I WENT, BECAUSE THEY HELP ME OUT. SO THANKS BREDREN FOR ALL THOSE SUPER VIDEOS, SINCE I HAVE BEEN BACK IN GERMANY I JUST CAN NOT ADJUST BACK TO EUROPEAN LIFE AND I,M READY TO PACK MY GRIP AND GO BACK, BUT I WILL BECAUSE I MET SO MANY FRIENDS THERE. THANKS ALOT.
When staying in a hotel, it's all about comfort and service for me.
How important is the hotel to the trip?

Ahhh thanks so much Mr. Roberts! Good luck en Panama!!!
I like the older hotels they have character and charisma like old bullet hole in a wall
Absolutely!!!! The new places are comfortable yet sterile!
Hey brother. I live Panamá! I was in the jungle of Bocastown near Almirante. The beaches are outstanding!
I will have to try it on the return!!!! Respect!!

Morning MendoZo!!!! That hat is firee in appearance but NY Yankees all dayyyy!
Peep the Colon Panama video
If you went to Panamá back in the 80's and 90's you would've thought you were in Jamaica. We used to listen and play dancehall everywhere from morning to night and you will hear it at every Party and event and we had soo many Panamanian Reggae artists back then, it started mixing like around 2015. Because of the migration of Colombians and Venezuelan in the recent decades Panama has completely changed in culture. I think its becoming more like the rest of Central America or a lil of South America. I barely hear English or even real Reggae when I go.😢
I lived in Panama for almost 3 years from 89 to 1992. And I remember exactly what you were talking about about the Latino reggae. I loved it in Panama I wanted to stay but I had to come back to the United States
😱😱😭😭
It’s the end of an era! I had to go back to Tocumen Airport late at night to take a COVID test and I took one of the school buses back to town and he was ripping some wicked dancehall the whole way! I was vibinggg! I went to a $10 all you can drink spot in Casco Viejo (It’s in my Panama Nightlife vid) and I had the most fun in there. Only few could speak English but everybody was whining and having fun!
I wish I was around for that!
@@KeenanLambert198 I remember Tocumen airport well.
@@KeenanLambert198 glad tou enjoy it. Some local radio stations still play that old school good stuff I love🔥💯🇯🇲🇵🇦

Loved Casco Viejo
Casco Viejo is a vibeeeee! Did you watch that video yet?
Rubén Blades, the Salsa singer and actor is from Panama City, Panama. He stars in Fear of the Walking Dead on AMC.
I’m very familiar with his musical work… Blessings!
You have a real knack for doing very interesting travel videos! I particularly like the fact that you contrasted the rich and poor areas. I agree with you that the poorer area you visited definitely seem to have a much livelier cultural vibe, thanks to the Afro-Panamanian influence in Panama City and Colon. How safe would these areas be for white people to visit? Keep the videos coming. Love them!
Thank you so much for the compliment!! It gives me the strength to keep going! Panamanians seem to leave foreigners alone for the most part in the city areas… I think you’ll or white folks would be fine!
Awesome ! Love your history. Some folks struggle with the hx of conquest and colonization. It's real, even if we don't talk about it!!!
Thank you Theodore! I see you've been picking up what I'm putting down, I love it and appreciate it my brother!
Please if you are going to give history do your research first. Casto Viejo was burned/ destroyed by
British pirate Henry Morgan in 1671 not by Jamaican pirates. I hate or should I say detest people who give wrong information. If you don't know the right history of a place then don't say any at all. Please !!
@@carmenmoss6897 Welshman Henry Morgan received permission to raid from the Royal Governor of Jamaica.
He left from Port Royal, Jamaica….. and gathered his pirates from that port station.

Those sailors from Jamaica were British privateers ... pirates, based in Jamaica. One of the stories is that the Spanish had a gold altar in their church, which they painted white to keep it from being stolen.

"Everything was shiny and the pool was packed with women" lol Great video.

I'm Panamanian. What we have the most is culture but yeah the CBD may not be the best place for that. Plus it depends what people mean by culture, because some think culture is like theatre, concerts, big sports games and the like. Panama is not the place for that, you go to Panama for party, food, history, nature, stuff like that. I would also recommend it for shopping although that has nothing to do with culture 😂
That's a $40 view alright. I love Panama City though. It's got a lot of vibe and character. But you gotta go to the right parts. The San Francisco area is great along with El Cangrejo. It's a mixture of expats and locals. Plenty of places to eat and enjoy the culture.
Panama was an amazing experience for me... As soon as there is a break in my baseball season I will have down there. Thanks for the recommendations... I will try it out the next time I am in town!
@@KeenanLambert198 El Caribe and La Tapa Del Coco are good places to eat. I also just got in from Casco Viejo and could tell it is ramping up for a Friday night but going back tomorrow night to hit the clubs you recommended. Also tomorrow gonna try and eat at a place called Peachfuzz international in ciudad de Panama. Your video is good bro. Keep up the good work, but more importantly keep up the traveling and sucking up life experiences. That's the real value.

If you would have stopped at original ruins you would have read about it in the displays.
