  • Anne Sacoolas sentenced for killing Harry Dunn in car crash: The mother of motorcyclist Harry Dunn broke down in court as her teenage son's killer avoided jail after a three-year fight for justice. US citizen Anne Sacoolas, 45, declined to come to the Old Bailey in person on Thursday when she was handed eight months in prison suspended for 12 months for causing the 19-year-old's death by careless driving.

The USA refused to extradite this woman to the UK to stand trial in person for her crime. The suspended sentence she has now been given is a legal slap on the wrist designed to ensure that the British Govt doesn't have to make the same extradition request again so that she can serve jail time here (because it would be refused). The parents of Harry Dunn have been shamefully treated. A legal process has occurred, but justice has neither been served or done.

This is why we the British people should be against the extradition of Julian Assange. This justice always gives into American politics.
Harry Dunn's mother has justice. But it is not justice as she did not face the course nor has she ever shown any remorse. All she has done has gone along to play the game knowing that she would never be jailed and will never be challenged in the US. this reminds me of our British woman student that was raped and murdered in Italy. One was arrested, but the Italian and American women did not and even made money from the British young woman's death. This family has never had justice. The Italian man and the American woman can travel anyway in the world and they will never be arrested.

It would have been better if that ban and suspended sentence was only clocked up on days when she's in the UK. So it could last 26 years if she wanted to come here 2 weeks per year. Or indefinitely if she hasn't visited. During which she wouldn't be able to drive. That would at least feel there had been some inconvenience to her life if she ever wants to return to the UK.
