Chris, the tech involved in modern farming is amazing.
It is pretty amazing
thank you very much this was very interesting. I always wanted to know how this worked.
You're welcome!
I was watching you do this from the road. It was awesome.
Oh cool.
Nice video guys, thanks for the details and explaination for calibration. I like your suggestions on the divider between the bins, good thing CAL-Ranch had a scooper! The seedhose is being addressed and we will have an update for you in the near future.
Awesome excited for the updates.
Really good video so informative loved it and I’m not a farmer but hopefully soon
I’m glad you loved it. Thanks for watching.
Can I come and work for you guys?
Just kidding. Probably don't want an old guy. I grew up on a farm and miss it. The equipment has advanced leaps and bounds since the 70s.
Take care.
If you live close, sometimes we need a truck driver here and there during harvest
You can get that anti static hose from companies here, if needed in a pinch. I don't remember the company we got it from when I was at the feed mill
That would be great
Great video, when will there be a potato planting video? Can you start again Monday or wait till Tuesday ? Great to meet you Saturday! You are as nice in person as in your videos!
It was good to meet you. We will probably start potatoes tomorrow and I will start making a planting video.
@@RockyMountainFarmer Hopefully you will have a great planting, unfortunately the next time I will be in your area the spuds will be blooming.
Wonderful video like always. Thank you for your hard work on the video. Have you ever tried harvxtra seed?
Thanks I’m glad you liked the video. No we have never tried that seed.
Seen a setup like this just east of Basalt.
Yeah there are a couple around
good video explained well, just wondering what do you work down the ground with before the drill
We go over ours with a lemken karat 10 chisel plow to prep it.
Have looked at horsch equipment before
Yes, but we were never able to get one out for a demo
Fall of 2022 we ran a kelly diamond harrow once , sown 2.2 bu per acre with a airplane. Then one pass with a 46ft McFarlane harrow. Made 110 bu per acre. Probly wont ever happen again
That would be an interesting thing to see, an airplane seeding a field, crazy
Do you have to calibrate each time you fill up?
No, in reality you really only need to calibrate it when you’re changing varieties or increasing how much you’re planting per acre
You should tack the straps to the inside of the lid
Probably not a bad idea
How many acres you are planting wheat
We planted 1600 acres
How big is your property
We are farming about 3000 acres this year
You pushed the wrong button when the machine was folded in. You should have touched the left one to tell the machine that it is folded in. Then all valves are off and you arent able to move the tools.
Oh interesting
are you guys twins? Sure look like you are!
We are not twins Christopher is 4 years older than me. We do look a lot alike tho
Wow to have hoses on the seeder last 1000 acres is unreal
would not be a good machine if you are planting thousands of acres
We agree they told us they are working on getting better hoses
