    The cables at the bottom are usually for cable TV or phones, so low voltage.

    • @davidturk6170
      @davidturk6170 Год назад +1

      You’re correct. Those two lower cables are low voltage (cable/internet). Except in very rural areas, your power lines are in sets of three, and are attached to insulators on the poles.

    • @jamesmarciel5237
      @jamesmarciel5237 Год назад +1

      Yup, a good rule of thumb is that Electric/power lines are at the top, phone lines in the middle and cable/internet at the bottom. Generally lowest voltage at the bottom and highest at the top.

    That line is fiber. When it get hot it stretches' so it will sag. Fiber has a 5 year life in the southeast if it is hanging off a telephone post. If it is underground it has a 20+ year life and is easy to replace. I did that in a previous life.
    I run HotShot with a 35' trailer. My brake even is $1.19 a mile with 1300 miles per month. I don't roll unless I get $2 a mile plus backhaul. I know my worth.

    Those freight rates are insane. $1.26 per mile, does any one take those loads. I'm not a trucker but just spit balling some numbers like at least $.50 for fuel, your labor at least $25 an hour including load and unload dead times and dead heading time (perhaps 50 cents a mile), a wild guess at maintenance of $.20 a mile, insurance at $.15 a mile, depreciation of $.10 a mile. You would have to write them a check to take those loads. You would go broke staying at home a lot slower than you would taking those loads.

    The wires that are that low are nearly 100% of the time; twisted pair, fibre or cable TV and not power, but no one wants to cut a 50,000 line TELCO assembly, a fibre line or even a 500 line assembly!
    There are two sides of gas stations, locally I buy from Costco, saving 12 cents per litre (quart). But when traveling I prefer those little mom and pop stations who are busy that have one or 2 pumps usually with only regular gas. I used to have a long F250, 5.8l, 4X4, extended cab, long box, class V hitch, 2 tanks with 85l front 65l rear, both tanks of crapy Irving gasoline with microlene brought me about 300km (180mi) on interstate class highways to Calais, ME. Then filled in a single pump (87 octane) mom and pop station (likely no additives) the next fill was just south of Atlantic City, NJ, 1070km (663 mi) 92% of spec milage! I went to DC, Ohio, and explored KY, TN WV, MD. Another Mom and pop station in NJ off the I95 got similar milage, but a Marathon in Western KY got poor milage about one third the other two fills, then I got filled at a small station and made it from NJ back to Calais, ME, where I filled at a little station, and went home! My suspicion is that the little stations had pure fuel and did not add treehugger additives! A few gallons of additives cost as much as fill of the pure gas and who wouldn't cheat on worthless additives. I wish we calculated CO², CO, NOx and SOx by distance driven like Europe, Japan, Aus and Kiwi areas, not by fuel burned (USA, Mexico & Canada) because our auto industry would strive to have lower emmissions per distance. Europe has different motors and different additives that provide far better milage!
    Before you replace your dryer check to see if the berrings are replacable and are there options for better ones! Our Matag had plastic berrings that wore out durring warrenty but I found steel cartrage roller berrings in a steel mount that fit and are working perfectly 15 years later!
    I wonder if there is any way to get around music strikes, by joining a national/international music licencing organization. My thoughts that there may be affordable options similar to SOCAN's DJ licence where they can play anything without limits or extra fees! All they must do is to send in play lists, that is it, plus that can help them know their own stats!

I used to know and could call the local trucking terminal to determine where a load was or when it would be picked-up. I now can only talk with brokers and national call centers that have no-clue what is going-on. It has caused me grief and some truckers have arrived when no-one is there. This is not progress.
