This synth is criminally underrated. IMO, it’s the best poly synth under $2000 to come out in the 2000s. So much more versatile than people give it credit for.
Oh hi there again :) I got interested in this as well after the tuning problems seem to be fixed. So right now it's Argon8 vs Summit vs Prologue for me. I think soundwise the Argon8 is the most flexible of them and I do love having a sequencer, but the layout of the summit and the double filter are just fantastic together with the effects. The Prologue seems to be limited compared to the others, but the sound design in this video has proven otherwise, yet I keep thinking about why they possibly went for only one lfo with only three destinations. The keybed on the Prologue has to be very good though, a feature which I have come to value over the years. Decisions decicions. The problem is that Komplete is on sale atm and for the price you simply won't get more sonic flexibility but you sacrifice hands on Kontrol, even with the Komplete keyboards. Damn the Prologue sounds good. Eh, time to sleep. Do you stick by your decision and get the Argon8? It's definitely the most tempting one not mainly but also because it's so affordable!
I am really happy with the Prologue16. It can do basically any sound. Smooth to dirty distorted. My Oberheim Matrix 6 sound better in some ways but the Prologue holds it own. The strings are really beatifull on this beast. Pure lush and silk it can do. But also much harder modern sounds The modfx never inspired me. But the reverbs are massive.
kind of insane they go on sale for so low. I mean, the prologue 16 is going to be under $1000 for black friday- it was $999 last year. It's impossible to beat this for the money.

2025. These are outstanding! Such care taken, patch after patch. Gigantic swells/long tails (with genuine character). Clever use of LFO (creating sort of pseudo-delays). Combination layers that actually work together (sometimes ‘dance around each other’). Delays/Reverbs that actually compliment the LFO/Arp patterns. Normally I buy “classic” synth sounding presets as starting points (& usually hate designers that turn single patches into orchestrated step sequence journeys…or ‘aimless drones’ aka a mess) but these are all creative, fun, well thought out ideas, sometimes genius 🤷♂️ I’m very impressed 👏👏👏

This sounds so nice to my ears, butI saw you comment in another video that this was like an enhanced Minilogue. Do you still think that after playing the Prologue? Not much of a tinkered here, more a traditional keyboard player.

For me personally overall i would prefer the System 8 just because you have the plug outs which is basically 4 synths in one for almost the same price. Othervise they are very different. Prologue sounds Raw Analog, like the old synths. S8 plug outs are rather round and Roland'y sounding :)
@@alphacodesynth I have the Summit and really love the sound, design, high level of connectivity etc. At the same time, I just bought the Monologue for fun and I really enjoy it, it´s amazing. Totally different experience, raw, old school, funny, of course - different monophonic league, but I mean the sound design and user experience. Is it somehow comparable at the polysynth level?
@@davidvochocjr1005 I have a Monologue (my first synth!) and am saving for a Prologue at the moment. My local store has a Prologue 8 voice out on display that I play around on every time I'm in there, and the interface feels very similar. I found it quite intuitive to dial in sounds just standing around in the store.
If you want/need real polyphony go for the Prologue. Otherwise, it’d be hard to turn down the Pro2. Though, personally I’d rather have the Matriarch or Matrixbrute over the Pro2.
@@alphacodesynth Yep so true. You think the synth is lacking in the bottom end? First demos i heard of it it sounded really thin. Better in your demo though...

Depends on what you want to create. Pro16 is the best analogue synth that Korg have ever built though. Sonically it is insane. Enough to overcome its shorfallings by quite some margin.

Uuu very different , Summit is a modern hybrid synth , much more complex, Prologue is more like a Raw old school analog :)
