Just so many references I couldn’t help but fanboy a little Edit: typo
Though Dante's Inferno depicts Cocytus as a frozen lake, it's original purpose in greek mythos was one of the 5 rivers of the underworld, derived from the word "kokutos," which meant "lamentation." The souls of those who died without burial or funeral would not be able to pay Charon's toll, and thus the wailing souls would linger, awash on the riverbank to Acheron. Incidentally, Erikthonios, Lahabrea, and Themis all being restored as memories after defeating Kokytus seems fitting, as in their current state they are little more than ghosts of a time long forgotten. We recovered their souls, and it is our responsibility to put them to rest.

So because nobody else seems to have been able to guess, I'm gonna throw my theory into the ring here: Based on the mechanics of both the Mage and the Martialist segments, as well as the titles themselves, and the fact that since shadowbringers we've been calling back to the allagan empire and crystal tower constantly, my guess is the Mage is Scylla and the Martialist is Glasya Labolas. The personality of the mage in particular matches Scylla's demeanor quite a bit as do the fire and ice mechanics. This would line up with there being a King Behemoth segment, as otherwise it's quite random.

I'm glad I'm not the only one nutting over the music this tier. They went absolutely insane with this joint y'all. BRAVO. Now to be burnt out on it when savage drops sksksksks. XD
Still has that creepy vibe, i love it
That drop? I wish it was longer - I feel it each time it ends to the girl singing in major it just UGH I WANT MORE OF THE SPECIAL SHIIIT DUDE! AAAA it's so good
it is a fucking phenomenal drop
"Make it fun for me..."
EHGGHHHGGGGGGGGGHHH??
So because nobody else seems to have been able to guess, I'm gonna throw my theory into the ring here:
Based on the mechanics of both the Mage and the Martialist segments, as well as the titles themselves, and the fact that since shadowbringers we've been calling back to the allagan empire and crystal tower constantly, my guess is the Mage is Scylla and the Martialist is Glasya Labolas. The personality of the mage in particular matches Scylla's demeanor quite a bit as do the fire and ice mechanics. This would line up with there being a King Behemoth segment, as otherwise it's quite random.
the mage is a very obvious reference to Shantotto
Thought it was Ysayle/Shiva.
@@Lyu-Phy Ysayle never used fire magic as far as i know
@@kanonical108 a reference to shantotto but with none of the rhyming
uh huh buddy
Glasya didn't have any of the martialist's mechanics though.
FFxiv definitely has the BEST bgm in ALL mmorpg. Hands down
The chimes/bells remind me a lot of Imbroglio from Shadow Hearts. Instant favorite this tier.
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one thinking this
I wasn’t convinced that I’d like this song, but the high bpm makes it an absolute banger in the moment. I’m excited to wipe over and over with this in the background!
Gives me such Shin megami Tensei vibes
BATTLE BELLS
[Aggresive Xylophone intensifies]
Yeah, I know they're tubular bells, btw.
Minecraft experience jokes aside, this gets me pumped to do these fights
All the sycrus tower bosses came back to run our fade one last time.
Oh ye of little faith who thought they couldn't keep up with the pace of music quality, haveth thou learneth nothing?! This is Soken and team we're talking about here. Living legends!
THE FACT THAT THE MAGE CASTS FIRE AT 1:59 AND THEN CASTS ICE WHEN THE SOUNDTRACK BECOMES MORE CHILLED IS INSANITY
now *this* matches the energy of Scream *really* well.
Oh hell yeah! I love this so much! I'm gonna do a dance to this song :D
really like 9th circle boss and as for 10th boss i have never had so many wipes on a normal before him but overall fun fight(the only fight that actually made me use my brain along side 12th circle)
10 was the hardest of them all I think because the spider web mechanic is poorly visualized (too many visuals on screen with tethers going everywhere, appearing and disappearing seemingly at random until you figure it out) and the outright noob-trap of the triangle indicator on the pole, pointing people towards the pole when they want to stay away from the pole.
Revisiting this is inteeesring. It’s a distorted, far-away version of The Tireless One.
Thank you for giving us this; the earwormiest of earworms. Dante'd love it. (Durante, too.)
Good god this song is an earworm
Awesome and really unique. Seriously this is so drastically different from the previous ones.
Best OST from this tier!🎉
The lyrics on this just like the rest of pandemonium is metal af
I'm a really big fan of the aggressive fights. Stuff like Barbariccia, E12S, stuff that just feels like you should be on edge. P10S did not disappoint 😌
This song is addictive
I cannot unhear the minecraft exp sound
I wonder if they were raving in their studio creating this. This theme is such a banger!
am I commenting for the third time? yes.
is this the most addicting song Soken and Imamura have cooked up? also yes.
im in love with this song
Kinda crazy after listening to tireless one. This theme is basically a remix of a finished song and gave to us before even reaching the end
S T A Y R I G H T W H E R E Y O U A R E.
Goosebumps.
P10 is favorite out of the twelve but this whole series was an absolute treat.
Can't wait to run this tier weekly until 6.5.
Ironic that a building is telling me to "stay right where you are"
I loved p10 mechanically and its absurdity of fighting the research facility... But as an arachnophobe... The spider legs and webs can F off🤣
@@augmentedsoldier6676 all they did was fuse the spider baby thing from toy story with the terminator. Kind of lazy design...
@@donaldbaker3967 you say that like that isn’t the greatest boss design idea in history
This is extremely beat-boxable
This song hits so hard in normal but god its only the embodiment of pain in savage
This song randomly popped in my head just now and I kept trying to remember which boss had the music that went "ding ding dingding" then I remembered the giant mechanical spider boss with the web posts.
Really sucks it isn't current content anymore so people aren't going to fall in love with the mechanics of the circles beyond just the quest completion.
The wol just stared at it and immediately took out azem summoning thing
Holy shit this music is god tier
Love that it is the hic svnt leones music this tier on techno its so good :))))
It's so distorted and f***ed up, I love it.
my fc will NOT stop referring to this as "penis music" and i hate to say it but they're 100% correct
Context on why they call it penis music?
I can't unhear the minecraft exp sounds...
Yet more music that feels like Ar tonelico boss music. Always welcome!
EXEC_DESPEDIA
Not sure if anyone noticed, but I’m pretty sure the mage is Ryne’s VA :)
Sounded a lot like her. Was waiting for her to shout about a disturbance in the aether
oooh we’re definitely getting ryne in 6.5 now
@@supreili new MSQ definitely does point towards it, more to do with the First
THE MINECRAFT EXP SECTION GOES SO HARD I LOVE IT
I have no idea what to call this genre except "Good Weird".
This sounds so much like a library of ruina track in the best way possible
People are also saying Umineko and .hack
....which, yeah, I can see it too
I can so see this as a Distortion Theme ngl. So you're absolutely right.
I AM PANDAEMONIUM
AND THESE CELLS ARE MINE!!!!
The music in pandemonium has been great, but it's a shame we didn't get a ff14 version of the ff2 pandemonium theme
I was so disappointed 😥 Especially after the pixel remaster version of that theme, it was SO GOOD
Right when 0:32 starts, I immediately thought it sounded a bit like dance till you're dead lol
that xylophone gonna make a fella act up
"It isn't over!"
*Levinstrike*
Narrator: "It was over"
