We know at least 6 named people who were stored in Auracite that are inequivcabily good with a good dozen or more friends, and they got their Auracite right from the source too. The Original Ramza not only sealed his soul in Auracite, but had said auracite split into two so he could help defeat the High Seraph, his closest friends who sealed themselves along with Orbonne, Cidolfus Orlandeau, Agrais Oaks, and Mustadio Bunansa not only stayed sane and true to their good nature for hundreds of years, they could tap into the Auracite's powers to become Lucavi themselves to test the Warrior of Light's party. Then we meet the Original Alma, Delita Heiral, and Orran Durai. These people all kept their sanity, their memories, and stayed good people until their final rejoining the Lifestream after Ultima's demise. Just like in the orignal Final Fantasy Tactics, Space Rocks aren't Evil. Their creator and some of their users were, but not all of them. Memory Lahabrea even says as much, Athena was already insane, the Auracite couldn't make that from Whole Cloth. Lahabrea fused his soul with Athena's, giving him HER insanity (which he Cut out, and then reaccepted later on). That fragment of her insanity then got amplified by the Heart and his body jumping. There's nothing that says Claudien can't use it for benevolent ends.

If the Heart of Sabik was made by the High Seraph, we know for sure by one of Lahabrea's lines that Athena did something to it that made it black. And judging by the Gaol in the Orbonne Monastery (The Auracite wall that Ultima is stuck in), and by how the High Seraph *continues* to make Auracite even unto us meeting and killing it, I could venture a guess and say no 'Natural" Auracite are Native to Etheirys, except White Auracite, the Garlean Synthetic Auracite used in the Werlyt series, and Jobstones are native to Etheirys, on account that these were explicitly man made.

If you in the orcrastion list in game, it tells you the name of the savage version's music: Ultima's Perfection (Endwalker). Can't wait to see what happens next week.
At this time it's only guessed that the auracite came from Ultima. There's a dialogue option for the WoL to ask Lahabrea about Ultima, to which he says that he knows nothing about such a being. Though he admits also that Athena kept a lot of the details of the auracite's origin to herself. Basically, we suspect it comes from Ultima and certainly this fight seems to hint at it I suppose, but it's never actually officially confirmed. I actually would like to go back to the Ivalice raids and read up on Ultima's role in FF14 again, as I never quite fully understood her role in that raid's story.
I'm sure we'll see even more of that later on. Ultima and Espers (Lucavi) became sort of "Mist primals" when they were defetet by Occuria gods in FFXII lore. And i see many parralels between concepts of Dynamis and Mist from XII. I think the nature of Ultima and auracite is defenetly connected to Dynamis.

What really impresses me about this is how none of the three themes jammed into here clash or contradict each other. It just flows from one to the other effortlessly (dare I say hypnotically which might’ve been the intention considering Athena) and makes it all sound like one coherent piece.
I'd say it's because Hic Svnt Leones, Scream, and The Tireless One share a lot of the same motifs. If you look at the opening lines to each song ("Wild shrieks..." "Lost lamb..." and "Souls laid bare...") despite their lyrical differences sound rather similar to one another. Basically they seem to be the same song under 3 different contexts
This isn't an attack that shares the same name either like with some previous uses. It uses the exact same animation effects as the Ultima Weapon. They WANTED you to know this was the real deal.
unlike the weapons using diet ultima (optimized ultima) or certain other bosses like kefka and pandaemonium using ultima with different sfx and vfx, all of which using it as their basic raidwides, this used ultima weapon's ultima animation, which required all of hydaelyn's power redirected onto shielding you to survive, then the next usage would wipe you, even with a tank lb3 on top of being the exact same ultima, it was titled "theos's ultima", which is basically just "god's ultima", which implies it was even STRONGER than ultima weapon's "ultima" very great to see just how far we've come from standard adventurer to god-slaying space-faring reincarnation of The Adventurer™

Curious on what Ancient Shackles influences you think there are, since the first half is just Hic Svnt Leones ("Pride, greed, in mud thrive these seeds..."). I can't really tell myself; the backing vocals are one (that "aaaaaaaaa" behind the actual lyrics, which isn't exactly like the Ancient Shackles version, but similar in concept.) Maybe the fact that the song goes into a lower pitch in general, I guess?
It's interesting how most EXs, all Savage and Ultimates are literal exaggerations of what actually happened in the story by either a bard who wants the story to be more epic, some scientists who are curious about how bad it could have gotten, or some bored person who just to imagine the most batshit scenario. I like to imagine the WoL doesn't like them for wishing for the scenarios in which you die the hardest lol
@@silvergrove8517 I always found that funny too. It's also the polar opposite of narratives like WoW's, where they say only the hardest version of the raid is canon. This way makes it far more inclusive to people who just want to do the story.

So the FF2 references were correct: - Hephaistos in P8 is the Emperor of Hell that Firion fights in Pandaemonium - Athena in P12 is the Emperor of Heaven that Minwu fights in Arubboth I. FUCKING. LOVE. IT
Honestly I still feel that's bit of a stretch, me and friends best is, "Themis kinda looks like astaroths sprite?" This was never really an FF 2 raid, it had zero real refrences to it. The lack of music a real kicker as Pandemonium from that game might still be one of the best final dungeon themes in the series. This just shifted back into being a Ivalice raid series at the end, which like, I get the Ascians are base of the Sions from Ivalice. I love me some Ivalice, but my friends ripped off on both sides here, when it's a FF2 theme it gets nothing, and when its Ivalice it's always War of the Lions or XII, never Advance or A2.
Asphedelous ended with a Gothic Horror boss, Abyssos with a body horror/mad science horror boss, and the Biblically Accurate Angels were terrifying to behold, I really hope P12S has her go full Eldritch Horror.

I apologize to everyone I spoiled with the thumbnail/title earlier. I didn't treat side story spoilers as sensitively as I would MSQ story spoilers, and that was purely my mistake. I'll be more careful with side story spoilers going forward. (I will also have an no-spoiler title/thumbnail for the Savage theme for at least the first week of that video)
A bit strange that Lahabrea somehow recovered the Heart of Sabik from Praetorium but didn't use it later, he kinda just carried it until he is killed and we just left the heart at the Aetherochemical Research Facility for whatever reason. Also it seems like Athena escaped sundering this way, it didn't explained how other 3 ancients did that though.
It is explained in the Short story that Emet-Selch escaped into the Rift with Elidibus and Lahabrea (Who happened to be nearby at the time). Thus evading Hydaelyn's Sundering Strike.
Hydaelyn purposely spared Emet-Selch, Elidibus, and Lahabrea by letting them exploit a way out. Remember, everything she did was because that's what the Warrior of Light told her happened: she needed to keep the time loop closed, and so she had to be careful to make sure history played out exactly as the Warrior of Light explained it. Hence, the three of them needed to escape the Sundering.

I just love this intro man, feels like I'm in a rave!
What I feel doesn't get enough credit is the whole stretch and fusion of Scream and Ancient Shackles, 1:18 to 2:34 or so. The changes already make each one sound amazing individually, but going from the newly frantic pace of Scream into the slow, lamenting-sounding wailing of Ancient Shackles is downright haunting. There's some weird-ass duality I get between the frantic parts being her insanity cracking through and the calmer points being the facade she puts out. But then I'm definitely reading too much into it, when it's just a damn fine mix.

@@natebroadus8474 Nah, Ishikawa doesn't do this kind of music. His music tends to be bombastic and/or dark. This isn't officially confirmed yet but something like the Golbez boss theme should be him. Some confirmed ones from previous patches would be tracks like "Deep Blue" (Lapis Manalis dungeon), "Rhythm of the Realm" (Euphrosyne boss theme), "Battle with the Four Fiends (Buried Memory)" (Barbariccia), etc. This should be Soken because it sounds experimental. Something like "White Stone Black" which is also experimental.
This patch was truly something special. Soken gave us a beautiful and epic FF4 medley AND a beautiful and epic Pandaemonium medley AND another remix of Flow. Such a legend
I can see that now that you mention it. I just felt they were going FF12 Cid route with Athena, which may also be the case. Design-wise, the eye choice was VERY intentional to evoke similarity with Venat to make the contrasting personality more jarring.
Respect on you changing the thumbnail and apologizing. A lesser person would double down and or keep it like an a-hole. I may have done the content but spoiling it so blatantly would leave a bad taste/experience. Definitely worth a like and even subscribe.
To be fair to Athena despite all the funny bullying, the Ultima Weapon in Praetorium cast Ultima with a really charged up Heart of Sabik. Lahabrea's dialogue suggests it hadn't been used since the Allagan era or earlier. That auracite has been stocking up on aether for maybe a few thousand years? Meanwhile Athena's got it after it's only recharged for a like year or two since ARR.

And judging by the Gaol in the Orbonne Monastery (The Auracite wall that Ultima is stuck in), and by how the High Seraph *continues* to make Auracite even unto us meeting and killing it, I could venture a guess and say no 'Natural" Auracite are Native to Etheirys, except White Auracite, the Garlean Synthetic Auracite used in the Werlyt series, and Jobstones are native to Etheirys, on account that these were explicitly man made.

At this time it's only guessed that the auracite came from Ultima. There's a dialogue option for the WoL to ask Lahabrea about Ultima, to which he says that he knows nothing about such a being. Though he admits also that Athena kept a lot of the details of the auracite's origin to herself. Basically, we suspect it comes from Ultima and certainly this fight seems to hint at it I suppose, but it's never actually officially confirmed.
I actually would like to go back to the Ivalice raids and read up on Ultima's role in FF14 again, as I never quite fully understood her role in that raid's story.

And i see many parralels between concepts of Dynamis and Mist from XII. I think the nature of Ultima and auracite is defenetly connected to Dynamis.

What really impresses me about this is how none of the three themes jammed into here clash or contradict each other. It just flows from one to the other effortlessly (dare I say hypnotically which might’ve been the intention considering Athena) and makes it all sound like one coherent piece.
I'd say it's because Hic Svnt Leones, Scream, and The Tireless One share a lot of the same motifs. If you look at the opening lines to each song ("Wild shrieks..." "Lost lamb..." and "Souls laid bare...") despite their lyrical differences sound rather similar to one another. Basically they seem to be the same song under 3 different contexts
This final version made me love the first tier’s themes
It's still really cool that Ultima is just a thing that you just shrug off in this fight.
This isn't an attack that shares the same name either like with some previous uses. It uses the exact same animation effects as the Ultima Weapon. They WANTED you to know this was the real deal.
unlike the weapons using diet ultima (optimized ultima) or certain other bosses like kefka and pandaemonium using ultima with different sfx and vfx, all of which using it as their basic raidwides, this used ultima weapon's ultima animation, which required all of hydaelyn's power redirected onto shielding you to survive, then the next usage would wipe you, even with a tank lb3
on top of being the exact same ultima, it was titled "theos's ultima", which is basically just "god's ultima", which implies it was even STRONGER than ultima weapon's "ultima"

I can't really tell myself; the backing vocals are one (that "aaaaaaaaa" behind the actual lyrics, which isn't exactly like the Ancient Shackles version, but similar in concept.) Maybe the fact that the song goes into a lower pitch in general, I guess?

No remix of the Pandaemonium theme when we've gotten constant remixes of FF4 tunes to an insufferable degree is a bit disappointing though.
Honestly I still feel that's bit of a stretch, me and friends best is, "Themis kinda looks like astaroths sprite?"
This was never really an FF 2 raid, it had zero real refrences to it. The lack of music a real kicker as Pandemonium from that game might still be one of the best final dungeon themes in the series. This just shifted back into being a Ivalice raid series at the end, which like, I get the Ascians are base of the Sions from Ivalice. I love me some Ivalice, but my friends ripped off on both sides here, when it's a FF2 theme it gets nothing, and when its Ivalice it's always War of the Lions or XII, never Advance or A2.

A bit strange that Lahabrea somehow recovered the Heart of Sabik from Praetorium but didn't use it later, he kinda just carried it until he is killed and we just left the heart at the Aetherochemical Research Facility for whatever reason. Also it seems like Athena escaped sundering this way, it didn't explained how other 3 ancients did that though.
Athena was dead before the sundering even happened. She etched her memories and will upon the Heart, and the other memory crystals.

It is explained in the Short story that Emet-Selch escaped into the Rift with Elidibus and Lahabrea (Who happened to be nearby at the time). Thus evading Hydaelyn's Sundering Strike.
Hydaelyn purposely spared Emet-Selch, Elidibus, and Lahabrea by letting them exploit a way out.
Remember, everything she did was because that's what the Warrior of Light told her happened: she needed to keep the time loop closed, and so she had to be careful to make sure history played out exactly as the Warrior of Light explained it.
Hence, the three of them needed to escape the Sundering.

I just love this intro man, feels like I'm in a rave!
What I feel doesn't get enough credit is the whole stretch and fusion of Scream and Ancient Shackles, 1:18 to 2:34 or so. The changes already make each one sound amazing individually, but going from the newly frantic pace of Scream into the slow, lamenting-sounding wailing of Ancient Shackles is downright haunting. There's some weird-ass duality I get between the frantic parts being her insanity cracking through and the calmer points being the facade she puts out. But then I'm definitely reading too much into it, when it's just a damn fine mix.

Some confirmed ones from previous patches would be tracks like "Deep Blue" (Lapis Manalis dungeon), "Rhythm of the Realm" (Euphrosyne boss theme), "Battle with the Four Fiends (Buried Memory)" (Barbariccia), etc.
This should be Soken because it sounds experimental. Something like "White Stone Black" which is also experimental.

Some say the whole story of pandaemonium raids are somewhat similar to evangelion and i kinda agree on that as Themis is exact homage to the anime.

I just felt they were going FF12 Cid route with Athena, which may also be the case. Design-wise, the eye choice was VERY intentional to evoke similarity with Venat to make the contrasting personality more jarring.

To be fair to Athena despite all the funny bullying, the Ultima Weapon in Praetorium cast Ultima with a really charged up Heart of Sabik. Lahabrea's dialogue suggests it hadn't been used since the Allagan era or earlier. That auracite has been stocking up on aether for maybe a few thousand years?
Meanwhile Athena's got it after it's only recharged for a like year or two since ARR.
We were facing her right within the Aetherial Sea, she had _all_ the aether she could ever need.
