Additively manufactured concrete-based formwork in time lapse (2.0m print)

An innovative solution using additively manufactured concrete-based formwork as a permanent part of a structure has been developed within the framework of an ‪@Innosuisse‬ funded project with a research team from Empa and an industrial team from BBR VT International under the leadership of Moslem Shahverdi from Empa's Structural Engineering Research laboratory.
This method eliminates temporary shoring, reduces construction time as well as waste and enables customization.
The team has successfully fabricated 30mm and 45mm thin additively manufactured concrete formworks up to a height of 2.5m.
