Just an FYI, if you did bench Pikachu in that first match you wouldn't have to worry about Gio. He only affects the active pokemon. So basically the zebstrika can do 40 to the active and only 30 to bench with Gio
Super glad the algorithm suggested the new channel, I used to love the hearthstone content but I never got into Marvel Snap haha. Hope you’re enjoying pokemon!
Saw your channel recommended in the PTCGP subreddit and have been binging the videos all day. Really love the vibe you bring, especially as you are completely new to the world of Pokémon. Really hope you enjoy this game and are able to make some cool videos in the future. Again, really loving this channel a lot!
At 29:56, mewtwo missed a win con. Mewtwo should not have pysdrived, had hit for 50 over 2 turns, he could have kept enough energy to 1 shot Pikachu and still 2 turn kill zapdos who had no energy, or 1 tap the electrode, or just do another pydrive for the other pikachu.
I recorded 40 Zaptos attacks and got heads on the first roll 12 times. Nice 30% on my 50/50. I decided that Zaptos hates me, so in return I will not play this deck and I will misspell Zaptos every chance I get.
When you didn't use Sabrina in that second game to knock out the Ivysaur instead of the Egg, my heart cried. I know it can be hard to focus on everything while streaming/chatting, so no judgment. But I was sitting on the edge of my seat when you drew the third basic and then had to audibly sigh 😂
Hm, I think I was more worried about the Exeggcutor EX upswing there, because the Venusaur EX line is so behind on energy with no ramp, but I can see the alternative when you consider all that healing in hand, it gave them the time they needed.
@regispokebin I can see that. It appears our scars informed our decisions. You've been smacked to death by too many Exeggcutor coin flips to risk it, while I've suffered at the hands of infinity Venusaur heals for too long
@@regispokebin the way I see it, life is too short to waste time arguing with your favorite RUclipsr on a video about a Pokémon mobile game when you could instead have a nice conversation with them that you'll remember fondly. All the best to you, Mrs. Killbin, and Regina!
Started playing 2 days ago and it can be really frustrating. Collecting-wise I have gotten a couple of lucky pulls with 2 full art Dragonites, a fa Nidoqueen, and a Blastoise Ex. In the same vein I've pulled 20+ Mewtwo packs since and have yet to pull a single Dragonair and only 1 Dratini also I have yet to pull anything from the Bulbasaur line :/ Unlike some card games these decks these are unplayable until you have the middle pieces :/ Got the missing pieces in my next ten packs for Dragonite 😁 running him with Frosmoth atm. The lack of ramp definitely hurts Dragonite allot though, if I pull a Misty I may try running her to ramp Frosmoth. I've been trying the deck with 4 basic mons. Not sure if I'm just unlucky or if 5/6 is a better number cause I've lost a few games due to only getting 1 basic mon even though I have 2 pokeballs and 2 Oak 😅 I will say I think wonder trade should be faster like 8 hours to regen 1 after all its a 1 in 5 to get a chase card and some offers go up to 4 cost (maybe higher idk) It's nice that Zapdos has a different weakness than Pikachu gives more defense against fighting decks honestly I wish more mons were like that especially to be more in like with the games.
Personally no, I think Electrode's free retreat is crazy valuable to get Pikachus online reliably. This archetype also wants to play more aggro most of the time, so the ramp on Magneton just doesn't go far without committing even more stuff like Raichu/Lt. Surge.
I've opened about 111 packs after playing for 3 weeks as an F2P. I have about 130 of the 220 available cards. I have not used the season pass, but it gives you one extra pack per day and some extras on top of that. Overall my collection is pretty decent, I have several viable decks. I'm also missing a few key cards for some other decks, but i expect this issue to be resolved once trading is released. Overall seems quite f2p friendly, and the season pass has great value too. Just give it a try, the game gives you a bunch of packs at the beginning and it's very fast and easy to reroll so you shd be able to get a decent start.
When you think about it, it's kinda funny - the game isn't globally released yet, but the meta is basically solved already :) But to be honest, it surprised me it wasn't solved even with NZ launch - the cards should simply copy the tabletop version, if I'm not mistaken?
@@ShiniOokami I think they changed a lot of the cards. I know the trainer cards do different things, not sure about the pokemon themselves. It is a very simple game tho, so it's not as difficult to figure out the best card combinations.
It's funny that you mentioned unbalanced going first/second, when you went against a deck that prefers to go first. Going first has the advantage to attack with a stage 1 first and going 2nd with smth like exeggcute is bcuz is more vunerable since it didn't got a chance to evolve. Ideally players should balance their decks with options when they go first and for when they go 2nd.
I don't like using Zapdos as it is such a niche use case and just extra 2 points for your opponents. I took both of mine out and I run other electric types.
It's important to have a big body that can tank hits. There is no bigger option for Electric decks that's also a Basic Pokemon. Flexing in a Zapdos can buy you time or counterswings, especially since his weakness is unique from other Electric types.

I dont think having a stage 1 evolution on a pikachu deck is a good idea. In order for pikachu to do full damage early on, You need to fill that bench. And having only basic pokemons early accompishes that real fast. Having a stage 1 on hand only cripples you. 4:46 for example. That electrode could have been on the bench already if its basic.
I don't think I've ever seen a highly placed tournament list that didn't have an Electrode, Zebstrika, or Raichu. It seems self evident from results that key Stage 1 evolutions improve the deck, or they wouldn't keep winning. Each of those offers meaningful utility, free retreat, bench snipes, or big damage.
Just an FYI, if you did bench Pikachu in that first match you wouldn't have to worry about Gio. He only affects the active pokemon. So basically the zebstrika can do 40 to the active and only 30 to bench with Gio

Second and final time suggesting this, but for the right side of the screen you could put an enlarged version of the important cards being played.
