Yeah, if you could do it passively every turn in the background it would be insane. But that’s probably why it’s not one, you would be able to, at all times and for free, know what your opponent has and plan for it.
Red Card rarely gives a true benefit. I know every time I have been Red carded, it either fixed my bad hand, or I just redrew the cards that mattered. It always feels like it could do something, but even with Sylph Scope, there's no guarantee it will do anything.
Red card is underestimate as F ! When your opponent draw 2 but can't evolve or play a base card turn 1 or 2 then either they have an evolve or another professeur or misty (cause only one supporter card per turn) and they still have more than 3 cards in hands... So you're very likely sure it's effective to red card there. This card is very luck and skill base but you can also guarantee some benefits.
I really want to play a Gengar deck. Not only does he have a cool effect, but him and Haunter are some of my favorite Pokemon. Unfortunately though I haven't found a single Gengar EX.
I have 3 Gengar EX but only 1 Gastly so I can't play the deck LOL. I also have 3 other decks I want to play where I'm missing one of the middle evolutions.Somehow the common cards are the rarest for me.
hand scope is totally better than using mew attack to just merely took a peek at opponent's hand since attacking automatically ends the turn and your chance to use red card is in next turn (which they might already used the evo form/trainer cards to disturb your active/benched with sabrina) knowing opponent's turn is good but not changing things if you saw it and end the turns right after, so hand scope is totally better
yeah, Mew could be useful, IF we could use Red Card after we attack and before we pass the turn. 60 HP is waaaay to low for how gimmicky its attack is. you're basically giving your opponent a free point.
That may be kinda the point. Mew works for Gengar IMO because of the low HP, + upside. Gengar decks suffer from slow energy build up, and a lack of low cost attackers/ walls in psychic. I don’t want to run multiple evolution lines or commit multiple energy to anything but Gengar. Mew, for 1 energy, lives 1 attack while giving me information that *can* slow the game down to let me power up the Gengar. It also provides the critical 5th basic. Which helps prevent Sabrina cheese and bricking into only one basic.
@@chrisessick7192 if low cost attackers is the issue kangaskhan and farfetchd both slot in, even golbat if you really want to help pad the mewtwo matchup
Hand scope is so underrated. I don’t even use red but 2 hand scopes and it’s so useful. Especially if you don’t have Mew yet. Red is not as impactful you might think. Sure the off chance it can mess their hand up but most times their hand is fixed, or they redrew the card you hoped they lost.
The only real benefit I've found to Red Card is combined with Persian cheese where you can try to keep your opponent's hand really small with red card and discard. And that's not like a sound strategy
Speaking of red cards I’ve had this coin flip/target their hand gimmick/meme deck idea that uses them: Persian (if heads, discard a random card from your opponent’s hand) Aerodactyl (if heads, return their active Pokémon to their hand) Kangaskahn (30x damage per heads) Red Card (return your opponent’s hand to their deck and draw 3 cards) Mew also wouldn’t be a bad Pokémon to slot in all things considered.
Is there some sort of card in the TCG that let's you re-flip a coin? Like maybe a supporter card you play, the effect reads like: "Once this turn when you flip a coin and the results is tails, re-flip that coin." So basically auto re-flips for the first tails you flip after playing that card but no other flips.
Because it's an attack you're basically giving them one turn to cash out their hand before your next turn. the hand scope + red card combo is still better because your opponent doesn't get the turn/chance to cash out their hand before you red card.🤔🤨🧐
There are times when Red Card is useful. The problem is, with the current set of 200 odd cards, the times it is good are very limited when you're dealing with higher spec'd decks. One Player Made ruleset it could do better under is an Ex-Banned format. It's not uncommon for the Turn 1 Player to use an Oak and 2 Pokeballs, running their deck down to 12, before a Red Card can hit the field, it's not going to work. When the simplest counter to a card is in, literally, every deck, accounts for 20% of the cards in those decks *_and_* can be done by just playing the game, that card is not good. It doesn't matter what niche benefits it can _theoretically_ provide, either. Those are nonstarters.
This game desperately needs more archetypes to play right now like 80% of the decks feel exactly the same with just different stats and a different type attached to it and all the types play exactly the same. There’s no reason to specifically play a type over another type outside of the card itself just has better stats.
Almost every time someone plays a red card on me it gives me a better hand. Although I usually assume my opponent has a red card. So if I have trash in my hand and would love to discard and draw 3 then I leave some extra cards in my hand, 5 or 6 cards and if they have a red card they almost always hit me with it. But then if I have what I think I need to win a game I'm trying to keep my hand small, I don't think anyone has hit me with a red card when I have 3 cards in my hand and rarely when I have 4 cards.
Get all 150 Pokemon from this generation. 1 of each and it doesn’t matter if it’s ex or not. So for example you only need either 1 motres or a motres ex and don’t need the other. In my case I have motres ex but not the base motres still counts. So you don’t need any of the rare full arts although they count like a full art bulbasuar counts. Basically just 150 of the Pokemon no need for anything else no promo cards, no supporters, no items. Just 150 generation Pokemon.

Deck sizes are too small for it to make enough of a difference.
I thought I was one of the only one's thinking like this. Having Red Card being used against me has convinced me not to use it myself.
