Sales make sense to me when I am buying essential items (soap, toothpaste, etc). I absolutely refuse to purchase those items at full price. I put a little money in an envelope every payday to pay for those items when they go on sale. Example: I only buy steaks when they are on sale. We just won’t eat steak until it goes on sale
I got a kid. How I get around that is make sure the gifts are from her and I have a 25 dollar budget per person. I want to make sure people get something from her because a lot of people bless her. But 25 dollars is my cap. And because it's from her their expectations are low😂😂

I have that everytime I go to the caribbean. I tell them, I don't want that expense on my books... get out of here... they would say I will pay you back. If I buy it for them. I will say, then go take the trip yourself and buy it there while you are there because you excited about it. :)
I purchased a really nice well kept car from a reputable dealership last month 60k miles ( not a lot for this brand) for 20k dollars. The sticker still in the glove box was 56 thousand dollars. I ALWAYS want to put more money in things that go up in value ( land, realestate, mutual funds...). I purchased 1 new car years ago....never again!! Also was able to buy it cash. We love to travel but we stopped crazy souvenir shopping too! The most souvenir shopping that we do is purchasing refrigerator magnets and stickers for our son commemorating where we traveled! He enjoys looking at them and seeing where he's been! 😊
I’m glad i learned early. Seeing my uncles and my dad get their cars repo, watching them keep up with the latest and greatest always set them back. They always spoke about how hard they work because of the things they have. I learned from their word, they still haven’t, unfortunatel.

My nephew asked to borrow $200 to pay back a week later. Guess what, a week later, he mentioned tax return. Almost 3 weeks later, his tax return was taken by IRS. I told him to keep it. I am not lending anymore money to anyone.

Those dates do get expensive....especially due to the fact that the expectation is for me to pay for everything. I had to cut back on that...a lot! I used to bring back shot glasses from all my trips...I don't even know where they are now. Glad I cut that out. I buy my god-kids/friend's kids shares of stock as gifts.
I spoke to a colleague at work the other day, he lent someone money and the person left the company and never paid him back. He did it again the other day and this person is messing him around. I'm gonna send him this video.

I got the iPhone 11 when it came out because it was the first one that didn’t have a button under the screen. All of the iPhones since then have had a similar design. Apple announced the 11 will stop getting updates in 2026 and that is probably when they will release an iPhone that has a design significantly different than the current versions. Car companies also rarely make large changes in car designs from year to year. For I wait until the new models design comes out plus one year to avoid the inevitable recalls.

Good morning all I agree with the thoughts in the car. I needed a car and went to purchase last week. Got lucky and grabbed a 2015 Equijox with 43000 miles. So when I trade it in, I already have a bit of equity because of the milage.

The only thing I can say about the brand new car thing is that in today’s economy, used car prices are way overpriced. A used 2020 car had about the same amount total after apr compared to a new 2024 car.

I learned years ago when someone asked me for money and I gave it, then I knew it was a gift. When I give money, if they tell me they will give it back, then so be it. I never ask fo it. Never. Don't loan money you can't afford to lose.

One of my so-called best friends I met in college was upset at me for not financially supporting her sister, and I never promised her anything. The discussion was impromptu, and she wanted me to fork out cash I had, and highly recommend her business to my network, but I was not obligated to do so and didn't. Some people are opportunists. 😐
Ex brought a new Camry over twenty yrs it still runs. Just need oil change and brake pads. And new tires nothing else. A new car that last thirty years is a deal..... Car was around 24k decades ago Plus you don't worry about it breaking down or needing repairs Now buying a new car for 200k is different 😊

The market sets the price. If the market won't spend $50 on an item and it sells at $10 then it is only worth $10 if you need it , use it and purchased it at $10. No such thing as a sale.
I think it’s a little misleading when you state that there will be a 10% return when the market hardly ever produces that. On average the market produces an 8% return sometimes more and sometimes less. But to put the market return at 10% for an average return is pure optimism
I promise it does. In 4 years my 401k has yielded 25% in earnings. You have to look at the 10 year track record. I look for Funds that yield from 8 to 12 % average earnings.

Black Friday is for poor people. So is getting excited about a tax return and blowing it on black Friday or the second you get it.

I have an Equinox 2019 i bought in 21 .... it was part of a fleet from a business. 10500 miles. 17,900.
