Chile’s geography is full ig mountain from north to south, and believe me, in the mountain Im talking over 3000 meters over sea level, the best Way to carry equipment in those difficult mountain roads is the donkey.

Dear King Sloth, I really liked your reaction to the Chilean army video. I'll tell you some details: The Chilean Army has had a Prussian tradition since 1885, which is why it is similar in form to the Wehrmacht. This is because between 1879 - 1883 Chile fought a simultaneous war against an alliance formed by Peru, Bolivia and very narrowly also against Argentina, since then, our army has always been on alert for that possible aggression (3 countries against Chile). Regarding the mountain force, our country has a border (Andes mountain range) of 5,308 km with Argentina and due to the height of the mountain, it is not possible to move war material in normal vehicles, therefore, in 2006 created an immediate mountain response unit using mules, not horses, to carry material over the cliffs of the geography. The camouflages respond to the different areas of the country (Atacama Desert, Central Zone, and Patagonia, a total of 4,250 km long in a straight line). The army with white clothes and skis at the back it’s because the Los Andes range runs all along our east border, with Argentina, it’s like a natural barrer against enemies, it has many very height mountains (as “Aconcagua” mountain), all of them plenty of snow and freezing weather.

The troops in white and with the mules are mountain troops. Considering the andes borders the whole eastern side of the country. Mules can get to more places than trucks.

@@KingSloth Those are Mules bigger than a donkey because is a hybrid species,a cross between horse and donkey. Due to their size they are able to carry heavy military equipment up in the mountains in areas inaccessible to vehicles.
87% of the Chilean territory is raged mountain. To carry stuff you need much more that a 4x4. You need mules. Chilean army is prepared to move quickly and fight in terrain that is not like Europe or the US. So, has to be equiped in a different way. Chile is about three times as big as the UK.

There are not horses, they are mules which transport almost any item to the mountains where there are no roads and much less vehicles through the Andes Mountain. This is South America with the Largest Mountain Range in the World .......

These are not horses, but mules, an offspring of a male donkey and a mare. This equine is the only animal, apart from goats and rams, that can walk the mountain paths on the slopes of steep mountains and cliffs. They are of great importance and usefulness for our mountain army, since they can carry heavy loads, guns, and assorted equipment along paths no other animals can. It is important to note that the offspring of a stallion and a female donkey does not present the same qualities as a mule does, this is why these equines are taken good care in our mountain army. Relax , it is ceremony the Prussian uniform because the Army keep the Prussian doctrine when after Pacific war, like 1980 we decieded to have a profesional army , so they ask to a high oficial Emil Korner (sorry for wriying) and that it is how so. And for another way NAVY is almost completly UK with strong tiigh in every sence for almost two centurys until now, I was Chielan Navy as a doctor , now I am Inmunologist , but here you belong until your death for our country . And if you look the oficial navy are quite equal to UK , and our ships have names like Condell, Williams, Prat, Cochrane. Chile is bound to UK in NAVY, so try to see our relationship. It celebrates all the triumphs and glory of the 200+ years old Chilean army. ( not a lot compared to European armies of course) one of our most revered heroes is actually from your country. Lord Thomas Cochrane, 10th Earl of Dundonald. The history between your country and ours goes on for some time. The discipline is Prussian and the military school is one of the oldest in the Americas. The army with white clothes and skis at the back it’s because the Los Andes range runs all along our east border, with Argentina, it’s like a natural barrer against enemies, it has many very height mountains (as “Aconcagua” mountain), all of them plenty of snow and freezing weather.

Is about a fellow from about neighboring country (Argentina I think) that said that they will invade us so in just a few hours they will be having tea in Santiago, and then peeing it (the tea) in Viña del Mar, a city by the ocean. The Chilean fellow answered "quiero verte", meaning " I want to see you doing it"., like "I don't believe you" or " if you try, will see what happens to you". 😄

87% of the Chilean territory is raged mountain. To carry stuff you need much more that a 4x4. You need mules.
Chilean army is prepared to move quickly and fight in terrain that is not like Europe or the US.
So, has to be equiped in a different way.
Chile is about three times as big as the UK.
The Andes mountains probably covers more distance than the entire UK

There are not horses, they are mules which transport almost any item to the mountains where there are no roads and much less vehicles through the Andes Mountain. This is South America with the Largest Mountain Range in the World .......

These are not horses, but mules, an offspring of a male donkey and a mare. This equine is the only animal, apart from goats and rams, that can walk the mountain paths on the slopes of steep mountains and cliffs. They are of great importance and usefulness for our mountain army, since they can carry heavy loads, guns, and assorted equipment along paths no other animals can.
It is important to note that the offspring of a stallion and a female donkey does not present the same qualities as a mule does, this is why these equines are taken good care in our mountain army.

Relax , it is ceremony the Prussian uniform because the Army keep the Prussian doctrine when after Pacific war, like 1980 we decieded to have a profesional army , so they ask to a high oficial Emil Korner (sorry for wriying) and that it is how so. And for another way NAVY is almost completly UK with strong tiigh in every sence for almost two centurys until now, I was Chielan Navy as a doctor , now I am Inmunologist , but here you belong until your death for our country . And if you look the oficial navy are quite equal to UK , and our ships have names like Condell, Williams, Prat, Cochrane. Chile is bound to UK in NAVY, so try to see our relationship. And my regards , hope to be there soon

The army it is Prussian that is why the uniform and helmet almost 130 years ago, almost the march and music. The Navy are British as your country like and until now the uniform of the officials are quite equal as yours my friend. Even the Prussian uniform is for ceremony, the doctrine is still alive. And Navy from England, our float have names like Cochrane, Prat, Condell, Williams, and we keep a high tight relationship with your country my friend. Look for a video like the Falkands Islands and the conflict with Argentina when our ties got strength for ever. So try to do some with a little more knowledge. And no offense, my apologies to you.
