Camping with your family are always best. No matter where you're at or what obstacles are in the ways, laying down in a tent with your family will always make for a good story to talk about later in life. I love the outdoors ☺️ GREAT VIDEO!!!
The 4Runner is just perfect. Love how this one turned out. Mine is blacked out with a 3 inch lift and absolutely love mine. It’s just perfect and versatile for everything from daily driving, moving my drums around, off roading, mudding, crawling, overlanding, road trips, everything.
I like your honest approach to film making. Like rustic cooking, you tell it like it is. And provide knowledgeable background on your surroundings. Thank you!
I'm generally not one to leave comments on videos but I'm a recent subscriber and love the work you guys do. Having lived in New Mexico for 19 years, there's a lot more to that state than most people could ever realize; most just think its barren desert and nothing else. Thank you for showing the side of New Mexico I loved so much!
I love the New Mexico country side! John Chisum was my Grandfathers Grandfather, and its always cool seeing the lands he used to own. Great video and music man!
Wow! So cool! We really enjoyed the history behind all these areas we traveled. The Chisum family has some deep roots in this country, so cool to have one of them see our videos! Thanks for watching!
If you are ever driving thru Salida, Co. stop by Riverside Rv Park and Campground and say hi. I'm, Lisa one of the camphost and just started watching you today...all day that is. It definitely helps to have a good show to watch when your laid up in bed ill.
I am looking forward to this series for sure! I live in Albuquerque and have a 2015 DCSB Tacoma Off-Road. I haven't made any mods to it yet, but I have used it off road including taking it elk hunting near Tres Piedras and spending a week on forest roads. My wife and I also have a 4yo daughter who loves camping and the outdoors. So your style of camping and overlanding is what I envision for my family.
Justin Thor Simenson Hey thanks for the comments! We love the Tacomas, it's perfect setup for overlanding the NM backcountry with a small family. Hope to see you guys on the trail some day! Oh, and we are hoping to release the new video in a couple days...
I had to come back and watch your video as the stress at work is piling up it helps to watch your video. I'm at the point I just want to jump up on a train as the song says and see where it takes me. Oh well the video will have to do for now.
+Stroker Ace Don't let it get you down! Get out and have a breath of fresh air even if it's just for a day! Glad we can help you relax though. Hope to see you on the trail someday!
Thank you for your information. Today my wife and I went and did half of the first section from Queens then cut towards our Tx home. It was our first try at Overlanding. We hope to go back and little by little work up to Santa Fe. Sadly our work schedules would not allow us to go much further then that. Still love it.
Dude, these are some AMAZING videos, just inspiring. Thanks for making them and sharing them so other people can live vicariously through your adventures!
Charlie Roddenby Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Traveling with a little one certainly has its challenges, it just takes time to get them used to it. The trick is having multiple ways to entertain and making frequent stops to break up the day.
Expose The Heart Awesome! Hope you get out and explore soon. the 4Runner has been the perfect platform for our adventures! And thanks, glad you liked the video!
I love my 4Runner!!! I have a TRD Pro... However, I see people doing impressive off roading in the base model, with nothing but a good set of tires lol.. My husband and absolutely love overlanding and have recently taken 6 month leave to head to Australia next week and maybe eventually South Africa.... We live in the mountains in Northern British Columbia and have toured all over the Pacific Northwest US and Canada, as well as the north, Alaska, Yukon.. Great video!
What an incredible video, I've got to watch all of them now. We have a modded fifth GEN 4Runner and a four-month-old & I can't wait until we can do micro adventures somewhat similar to these videos
I really like the fact that you are from NM. I'm in northern NM and usually spend my camping days in Colorado under the protection of a toyhauler. I'm really thinking about getting a rig and taking the back trails now. We have some beautiful areas in this state. Thank you for sharing this amazing trip you and your family took!
+Steven C Love this Land of Enchantment! Yes, trade the toy hauler for a Turtleback and triple your mobility while keeping most of your comforts! Thanks for watching!
taylor ridings Awesome! Stay tuned to our blog www.lifestyleoverland.com/overland-blog/ for the trip data. We just released the first section last week.
Great job. I thought my wife and I had done some rough trails through Lincoln, but you definitely beat me. My wife would have been chewing me out if mine ended up like yours.
+M Borrego Funny, I expected someone to say something sooner but you're the first! Aha! You're right, it wasn't very big but it was large enough I would rather risk getting a little wet over a punctuated tire. If it had already been driven over, then no problem. But it was a fresh fall with some nasty stubs on it. Good observation though.
Just getting started in this new type of adventuring, and discovered your channel. Really enjoyable and very informative! Thanks! And +1 on the background music to your videos.
Rattlesnakes are no joke, but surprisingly forgiving. At Fort Davis, was hiking a deer path and a bush was hiding one, he didn't rattle until my foot was 18" away, and he didn't strike. Didn't even see him, just backpedaled (while on a cliffside). 😮
Finally! Someone not copying XO. Thank you for being original. Really enjoyed. Subscribed. By the way, the morning fog views (5:08 ish) were incredible.
claycope Thanks for the feedback. We made a commitment from the start to be ourselves and let the stories tell themselves, even if it's not as "epic" as we imagine, haha. Absolutely love everthing XO does and find inspiration in their videos. Our goal is to show folks that anyone can be overlanders, you just have to find the style that fits you best. Love the feedback, it's super encouraging for us amateurs. We will continue to work at putting out quality content as we learn! -Kevin
Great video. awesome to the whole family take an active role in the adventure. My family's the same size - daughter same age, would love to get them on the road like that someday. More props on the music, specifically the Ryan B. Keep up the good work!
Looks like a great adventure; 2016 certainly was rainy as I saw pronghorn with great horn growth that year. Believe it or not, I have crossed that cattle guard at 12:52 many, many times and have spent a great deal of time near where the windmill at 13:13 is as my uncle has a ranch near Corona.
This makes me want to go over landing even more now! I'm taking baby steps and starting with back packing till I have the money to start an overland project
Lifestyle Overland thanks for the scourging words! I'm going to work hard to get there. Going all the way from the east to the west. I know there's more than what's inside this bubble of a state known as Connecticut
Great video! My son was born in December and I personnaly always wanted to go out on the road and live off my vehicule (2DR Jeep Wrangler JK) With a small family of three, just like yours, I was apprehending overlanding trips. Now, I see that it is more than possible, equiped adequately. I'll be looking to trade my 2DR for a 4DR but in the meantime, I'll watch your videos and plan ahead for when our time comes. Keep it up! Thank you for lessening my fear of traveling to remote areas with my family of three.
Awesome! Love hearing that we inspire other families to get out and adventure! It's all about preparation and practice. Start small and range out as you gain confidence. This route is perfect for the family because you can find civilization periodically throughout the trip if needed. Feel free to shoot us an email if you have any specific questions we can help you with!
+The Totally Amateur Shooter No need to do that! You can do exactly what we did with any stock full size 4WD, quality tires, a tent and some food and water. It doesn't matter what you drive or how fancy the gear, just get out there and explore!
How did we plan this route? Watch this: ruclips.net/video/RVflThDx7ZA/видео.html
Look at the bare naked roof liner in the 4runner!!
Camping with your family are always best. No matter where you're at or what obstacles are in the ways, laying down in a tent with your family will always make for a good story to talk about later in life. I love the outdoors ☺️ GREAT VIDEO!!!
+cool kayak Hey thanks so much for the comments! Glad you liked our video!
I award you two cool points for Ryan Bingham background music!!
nathan case Thanks! Ryan Bingham and New Mexico trails go together like bread and butter, or cigars and whiskey to be more specific!
i second this. perfect vibe. bingham is a legend
I think you meant they go together like "Bread and Water" 😜
How'd you even get to use that with all of RUclipss copyright crap going on right now?
I was thinking the same thing just seconds into the video...Ryan Bingham and an overland Toyota make for a great start to the video. I just subscribed
The 4Runner is just perfect. Love how this one turned out. Mine is blacked out with a 3 inch lift and absolutely love mine. It’s just perfect and versatile for everything from daily driving, moving my drums around, off roading, mudding, crawling, overlanding, road trips, everything.

Just wanted to comment on the relatively small branch you stepped out into the rain to remove. Could you not have run it over?
+M Borrego Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Lifestyle Overland haha ten-four. by the way... I'm pretty sure I helped build those wind turbines that are in your video
+M Borrego Oh yeah?! Think that was east of Lovington. Right?
