San Gil is a municipality located 97 kilometers from Bucaramanga, capital of the Department of Santander, since 2004 is considered the tourist capital of the department.
It was a territory populated by the Guanes Indians during the pre-Hispanic Colombian era, is located on the road axis between Bucaramanga - Bogota, and is the most important urban and tourist center of southern Santander. It is an agricultural municipality, which complements its economic activity with extreme tourism, beekeeping, handicrafts carved in stone, wood and fique weaving among others. The gastronomy is varied and for all tastes.

Can you provide an update on the extent to which the new Omicron variant has become to penetrate Colombia, in particular Cartagena and Bogata and whether there are any noticeable new restrictions being put in place? I write this from NYC and the new variant is everywhere. Most experts predict that it will also be everywhere in the next few weeks. Thanks. Steve
