Great to see a community of people working together while respecting the natural world, giving thanks for what they have. A great comment included about living 'with' the land, not off of it. A whole show and no one on a cell phone.
I really appreciate your sharing our way of life subsisting on fish, wildlife and and other wild resources we depend on to survive all year, not only fish that are migratory
I just recently moved to Delta Junction Alaska two weeks ago, and now that im here, i never want to leave and live like these people in the documentary. Someone from a rez adopt a brotha 🙏🏽
It's awesome to see a Father pour knowledge into their children. The reward is when they have done it by themselves and the results were positive. Then, you KNOW they were listening! 😂
There is no way Amerikkkans in the city would, could have the mindset of WE THE PEOPLE like the last 3 minutes of this program. Taking care of one another.
I have so much respect for the indigenous people of Alaska. They have continued to pass along their culture & traditional living to their children. They will be able to sustain themselves from now until the end of time. I truly enjoy this episode.❤️
What I learn from here is that life is hard and risky need to be strong and think positive stay alert all the time understand the weather condition and ways to survive everyday living. They are very strong people with confident and believe in themselves God bless y’all
I love the culture shown here! This is my culture too(Samoan Heritage) A few of us are trying to keep it alive, sharing is love and its amazingly beautiful..awesome the natives in their lands
I wish you show that all the villages in Alaska have at least 1 little store and some have 2. I lived among the Yupik Eskimo for years. Yes they do hunt and net fish.
Amazing documentary but absolutely wrong choice of music... it made the nice and calming, cozy atmosphere of the footage rather unsettling and stressfull.
How much real life and real relationships are in the community life. but here with all scientific developments, we are losing. very sad and bad days to come.
Mr. Strassburg is a wonderful father. Those walrus hunts have gone on for thousands of years. In paddled skin canoes. What do the Innu fear? Angry bull walruses.😊
removing the bark all the way around kills the tree. this is done some time before you want to cut the tree so the tree dies and dryes standing. by the time you fell it it’s already dry
Must add..Oh How proud the boys to men...lol have mafe their beautiful Father. Many levels. Its sink or swim IN Alaska. SWIM.CRAWL. WALK. RUN. whatever you gotta do..for Love of the precious land. And for survival.
This would be so much better without the music to manipulate the viewer. Yuck! Really neat to see fathers instructing their sons. Something every boy longs for.
- 24:15 I am so glad your son survived so we can meet him. 💙 Also, in your wood forest, do you guys ever plant trees? Or how is it possible that after generations there are still woods in the patch your family owns? 🪵
That walrus hunting method seems very unproductive. Obviously it's been done forever, but bombing around with an outboard, and rifles, being very noisy, and wearing dark clothes seems like a way to not be successful. Good luck out there!!
That walrus looks like the most unappetizing thing ive ever seen 😂😂 and no I'm not Knocking the native people i know that's how they survive and have been forever i respect it for some reason i dont remember walruses looking like that 😂😂 the skin looks crazy
What is certain is that the Earth's poles play a very important role in the Earth's livable ecosystem, which is unfortunately being destroyed by human interference.

I love living in nature, I get a new life from seeing plants and wildlife
- 11:23 Won't the rabbit just jump *over* the snare? If I was a bunny, I sure would.🐰 🐇
My Name Georgia Bowery-Clark. This is Beautiful!😸
‘This water has game’…said it so loud probably scared off all the walrus/seals
I am honored to stayed one entire year in Trapper Creek, AK, USA. I got in touch with the native population. Kind-❤ people
THIS CONTENT AND FAMILY ARE AMAZING IN TEACHING THEIR YOUNG SURVIVAL SKILLS AND AWESOME TECHNIQUES 🫴🏽🏆🏆🏆
Jody is a hunter and tries to be like her ancestors. I wonder how many of her ancestors had manicured nails lol.
Awesome

I wonder if the Strassburg family replenishes the trees they harvest from the wood yard

35:22 it’s only failure if you didn’t learn something from it
I've been to the Alaskans, it's very cold. Amazing, i’m jalous learning all that skills..
Anyone know why there is a ring of bark removed just above the cut line of the two trees they cut down? They can be seen at 5:00 and 30:50
Marked beforehand for falling maybe?
removing the bark all the way around kills the tree. this is done some time before you want to cut the tree so the tree dies and dryes standing. by the time you fell it it’s already dry
I believe he may have marked it for the boy's because the tree definitely wasn't dead.@@Marduk443
I enjoy the show, but the music is too loud and the instrument music is too strange sounding. Play something mellow at a lower volume.
I've been to the Alaskans, it's very cold
😭😭 Perhaps you meant "Alaska" yes? Cold it is! 😉
THAT'S AMAZING, I KNOW IT WAS FREEZING 🥶 ALOT OF PEOPLE CAN'T HANDLE THAT TYPE OF COLD. I KNOW IT MUST OF BEEN AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE AS WELL.
These people should be thankful for the good health to live that lifestyle. Anyone with health problems wouldn't be able to do all those things.
What was the two things that was repeated in the video
Must add..Oh How proud the boys to men...lol have mafe their beautiful Father. Many levels. Its sink or swim IN Alaska. SWIM.CRAWL. WALK. RUN. whatever you gotta do..for Love of the precious land. And for survival.

The producer and editor need to learn to balance the music and audio. Music is so loud we can barely hear them talk

why is it i never feel happy seeing a tree falling?
