Yamaha first introduced fuel injection on the 450 in 2009 so this bike IS fuel injected. It doesn’t have a traditional choke like a carbureted bike but does have an “enrichment” knob for a cold start. Generally not needed though.

I bought a built yamaha blaster when i was 17 and it lasted about two rides and something in the carb broke. Unleashing all the fuel to the motor that sent me into bushes because i couldnt stop. Flipped off and the motor reved until it grenaded. It was great.
The fuel injected bikes need to be slowly pumped with the kick starter, once you pump it a few times you can feel the tension. Once pumped pull the throttle 3 -5 x. then give it a good kick! BOOoooM!

I’ll put it this way the bike definitely has been rode hard and probably not properly maintained. Aside from that it definitely isn’t stock and that old man ain’t lying. Now $10k in the motor I can’t justify that. But a built PR2 racing engine is all you need to know. Along with the suspension etc. This bike had a lot of money put into it at one time. The small oil leaks(just residue)is simply gaskets that need replacing and or just build up from being a 2016. Cheap and easy fix(if even needed)but they all leak over time it’s a 2016. Water in the radiator just shows some kid definitely had it. Regardless overall it’s a quality bike it just needs some good love. He’s at $4300 which if the bike was 100% wouldn’t be too awful. Considering the little cosmetic things and not much background on maintenance I’d start around $3000-$3300 and work my way up. $3500-$3800 would be my absolute max. But personally I don’t know if i’d pay that because i’m not there in person seeing the bike. I will say you could definitely find a cleaner bike as far as $4300 goes though.

If you buy a bike you need to know how to work on bikes. That bike looked ok and the dude seemed legit. It's a used dirt bike so it's beat on because that's what you do to dirt bikes. They are easy and cheap to fix so as long as the frame is good everything else is fixable. Small oil leak could be easy to fix but also easy to diagnose. Some coolant looks like water and easy to change. 4300 is def to much but that's the asking price. I would tell him I had 2200 today and go from there. Upgraded forks ECU and a ported head do add some value.
Suspension work is useless if it wasn’t setup for you! It might you more money to get it right? What proof does he have it’s a built engine? Maybe receipts or a build sheet from the builder? The ECU would be easy to verify just by looking at it or if it’s a GET ECU the map switch would be on the handlebars. And if the engine is that built it’s now a short duration engine that needs parts replaced about every ten hours! The bike is maybe worth 2500 bucks

It will definitely need a rebuild, leaking oil everywhere and the engine is being cooled without proper coolant witch means loads of limescale buildup inside the engine. I wouldn't pay 1000 for it

Besides, I doubt there’s actually 10 grand into the motor. I’d say closer to like six or 7000 but still 4300 for that bike is a good deal even with the oil leak. There are small combustion engines easy to work on easy to repair. It’s probably just an oil gasket or something simple like that definitely not worth passing up on the bike, anybody knows anything about bikes knows this is an easy fix

That motor is going to need atleast several gaskets to stop the oil leaks, flush the radiator and put real motorcycle coolant in it, check the clutch that's probably shot also... The valves definitely need to be adjusted, they were ticking badly...That whole motor will need to be taken apart and refreshed & tuned prior to being able to ride it confidently so you know it won't break down...Looking at about 1,000.00 just to feel confident in it...I wouldn't give him more than 3,300.00 because you are going to put around 1,000.00 into it. Chain is shot also so the sprocket teeth are probably rounded off and worn...$3,500 max offer!!!
I got the same bike and live were it snows my bike sat all winter took it out when it was still cold as hell and fires up 2-3 kicks max even with out the choke on definitely wasn't cuz of the gas 😂
