The more I learn about shoeing from these videos, the more I realize how deeply respectful and thoughtful good farriers are towards the horses, and how careful they are to give the horse exactly what it needs to stay healthy and be able to do whatever it does at the highest level possible. Keeping the horse healthy and comfortable is always their top concern.

When do you need to have an breackover on a sliding plate?

you shouldnt ever need breakover since these are strictly hind shoes.

it makes the movement more comfortable for some horses and it all depends on the shoer's preference, there's really no need to have a rock in the toe.

Layna Grue thank you so much for your reply! So if I’m understanding well the horse will slide easier? Doesn’t the horse shoe comes earlier out of the sand with an rocket toe?

The rocker toe is to help prevent their toe from digging in the ground.
