Great video! I’ve been shopping around for dashcams and been looking at wolfbox. When you leave it powered on to watch your vehicle, does it drain your battery or do you have a secondary power source for it. Also JOCO native as well!
Hey! How fun! Yay johnson county! It barely draws any juice from the Battery when you install it with the permanent kit. It’s been an awesome addition to our Subaru!
@@slmah1998 awesome! Looking forward to hearing how it goes. I’d recommend a bigger memory card because I have to format the 32g every day and it gets old
How did you feed the rear wire through the trunk opening button? I have been trying to install my rear camera and can’t figure out how to get it through the lights for the license plate or where that button is. Would really appreciate your input!!!
Hey! Thanks for asking! I took the trim middle trim piece off the back door. Once I did that, there are 10mm bolts holding the piece on. I took the middle bolt off. Feed the wire through the hole with the part that connects to the dash first, then feed the wire through the pillars and bolted everything back on
Thanks for the video. I have a 2024 Outback and was looking into this. The only issue would be viewing the footage. Would I have to take the sim out and download it to my computer or just buy the version that comes with Wifi?
Thanks for the response. So if you have to physically save the footage for legal reasons, you have to take the SIM card out and download it onto your computer?
@@johncaban4310 yes! It has a slot for a micro sd card. I would suggest getting a big one like 1tb or else if you use the 32g that comes with it, you’ll have to format the card every time you get in your car and that could get annoying after a bit
Bro, how in the hell did you feed the rear camera through the hatch, i can see its tucked up through where the hatch release is but how did you get it there?? i've got my whole car tore apart and there seems to be a cavity of some sort when i try to feed a fishing line, did you drill a whole some where and snake it through????
@@Loubar87 Thanks! I ended up just pulling up the lower secton of that outer piece, with the bolts out and just the lower plastic clips and put a little socket in to hold the thing up and then drilled a whole just big enough for the connector to slide through, wish i could post pics in here, anyone else doing an outback, this would save them some time.. without long needle nose pliers, pushing those plastic retainers out would have been a pain, love this setup though, super pita to get a clean setup though!
back license plate have 4 plastic pieces, the two on the top is being use to hold the license plate. I’d removed one of the bottom one and route through it, and filling it up with some weatherproofing silicone.
@@Loubar87 after removing the back panels, I’d route the back camera wire through one of the license plate hole, after removing one of it plastic(two of the top one are being use by the license plate screws.
would you install this dash cam in your car?

@@Loubar87 will do. Installation looks pretty straightforward. I hope 🤣
@@slmah1998 haha it is!
Louis job well done, I used a different dash cam but ran power through the mirror, my model is Red Tiger, love my Outback 😊
Thanks Charles!

Hey John! With this specific dash cam, you can review the footage right there from the screen! It was one of the draws for me!

I took apart one of the back panels on the back door and there is a bolt you can slide off from the inside of the door and feed the cable through that

What year is your outback? What fuse numbers did you use? 12v and acc were both empty?
My outback is 22’. Both were empty, yes.
@@Loubar87 just did a 15’ AZDOME M550 3ch.
How many amper do you use for the empty fuse for the dashcam?
I used 20 for each one.
Could you please do a video on how you route the rear view camera? Thank
Yes! Was planning on it!
