I am thankful for Ming. She is helping us Cambodian Americans (at least this one 😀) recreate her authentic recipes. She is truly a blessing. Thanks for sharing!
Your mom is an amazing and talented woman. Her explanation is very helpful and informative. Tell her thank you and many blessings. She reminds me so much of my grandma. She loved to cook too.
Yeah my mom really wanted to explain why she was making that dish. And she really put her heart into it. I'm happy that I can enjoy her food at her finest.
Your mum, she is genius for food, she explain about coconut, beef, mix Khroung. She gave good advise that make the delicious food for her generation and Buddhism. when i listen to her advise i drop my tears bc i think of my mother, father, grand...thank you and your mum so much that post this video.
I am Asian but not Cambodian/Khmer....I like learning how to cook different cultural foods. It would be great if you had subtitles so I know what your mom is saying. :) TY your mom for the true recipes instead of buying the paste at the store!

This is THE BEST curry soup that Ive came across. It is time consuming but what a difference! Id rather use the fresh coconut milk than the can. You can definitely taste the freshness. I never thought making coconut milk could be so damn easy thank u for emphasizing the importance of fresh coconut milk..it makes the soup....really. Your mom makes it so simple and easy to learn..im so excited because I found my long lost Cambodian aunt who can help me make delicious Khmer food.lol
Awkunh!!!!! Ever since my mother passed away 10 years ago, it has been difficult finding Khmer recipes to learn from so that I can replicate her recipes. I appreciate all of your videos! I especially appreciate that you speak Khmer in your videos as I am forgetting how to speak the language! I am so happy to have found your videos!!!! Please keep them coming!
Thank you for sharing all the recipes and keeping our traditional dish vibrant. Your mother is wonderful. I love the way she explain things, her patience is admirable. I enjoy the conversations between you and your mother. Thank you!
Two years ago, I had tried this dish over at a Cambodian family's house and had no idea what this was called. Finally, I came across your page when I was researching curry dishes and realized it was the exact dish that I had tried 2 years ago. Thank you for sharing this recipe, for my family loved it!
Thanks for making these videos because my mom doesn't take the time to teach me this. But also she takes all the short cuts now and uses canned items. Please make more cooking videos as I subscribe to your channel and its the only way I have learned how to make authentic dishes.
As I was reading some of the comments, lots of people say that your mom gives a lot of great tips. Please share with those of us who do not speak your language. Thanks again ;)

hi I am paul p of Fresno California. I am Mexican but I have a Cambodian x. who sparked my fascination with Asian food. I have some successful dishes I have recreated and I will be making this dish for my American idol finale party , party of 1. lol im sure my mom and brothers will eat it up too. but I have this evening alone, me, American idol and some beef curry and jasmine rice. Thanks for the recipe I have already made the express version so I know I can do this one.. AHKUN. LEAH HI!
Great video. I also wondered about your mom's accent. I thought she either was from Battambang or Siem Reap. She's great, I love how she made the comments about taking the curry to wat and the lesson on how to pay respects to the elders that passed away. Thanks for posting.
In reference to the coconut milk she was preparing, she said heat the cream until the coconut oil separates from the cream. You can see the oil rise out of the cream, that's when you know it's ready for the other ingredients. The advice she gave at 20:50 made me want to cry.
tell your mom to put galangal in a jar of cold water and change the water once a week. that way her galangal is always fresh and it would be easy to slice. please let me know if she tool my advice and what she thinks about it thank you for all her hard work
