The song is an original composition for an ancient lyre and an accordion, inspired by the spark ("ἔναυσμα" in ancient Greek) that realizes itself, almost magically, just before pure art manifests.
It is dedicated to an iconic cultural space in Thessaloniki that recently closed its doors permanently, Bensousan Han, and to its art director, Stylianos Dokouz. Bensousan Han hosted some of our greatest moments as a channel, and we will always be grateful for it. This music clip was our last filming session in this remarkable place.
The melody is performed here by Thanos Stavridis on the accordion and Theodore Koumartzis on a LUTHIEROS ancient lyre, masterfully handcrafted in Greece.

🎙️ Who is Theodore?
Theodore Koumartzis is the youngest brother of the Koumartzis family. Being part of the family's endeavour since its early stage, he soon came to be an inspiring top-notch lyre player, constantly learning and experimenting with musicians around the world.
He is the founder of the PAUSIS Project, a curator at the SEIKILO Museum of Ancient Music in Greece (Thessaloniki), and an integral part of LUTHIEROS Music Instruments.

🎙️ Who is Thanos Stavridis?
Thanos Stavridis is one of the most recognised accordion players, with collaborations with some of the biggest and best-known singers as well as composers and musicians, both in Greece and in the Balkans.
He is also one of the pioneers of the Balkan scene in the country.
He has participated in over 100 CD recordings both as a soloist and as an arranger.
His two personal albums "a Suitcase full of Dreams" (2016) and "Spicy Margarita" (2021) have received many good reviews both at home and abroad, having airplay on radio stations in Australia, Argentina, and throughout Europe.

WOW !!! Such a sweet elegant vibrant piece of music. . . Magic touch on the accordion, esp with the tremolo, bending notes and the beginning breathwork. Really takes it to another level. . . Also the harmonics on the lyre add a nice touch. . . I felt at around 5.30 you could've even dropped a solid sparse drum beat and a reinforcing bass melody line to lift the roof off, before eventually floating back to earth (maybe on another version?). . . For me this is a majestic piece that could go into many epic variations (like it already has in my head, and yes, I'm a musician too). . . Many thanks for this amazing sonic journey. . . I'm really touched. . . Blessings. . .

Concerning your question, we cannot recommend you more the LUTHIEROS family in Greece, a workshop that specializes in ancient musical instruments with an immaculate reputation so far. You can take a look at www.luthieros.com
Especially for the ancient kithara, we think that they are the only ones (they are the first ones, for sure) that handcraft them with a movable yoke, resulting in an exquisite instrument that is able to produce vibrato and portamento.
