Don’t do all the side quests Afro, the game is fantastic but has too many extra side quests. Only do the really important ones or ones that you find interesting so the grind of doing so many side quests in the game doesn’t affect your experience of it.
Funny enough now that the dust has settled, this has become a top tier game in fans minds. At first there was this air of “it’s not what we want, we don’t want it”. But it’s totally becoming hugely loved by those who play it, with the dlc coming out in 2 weeks, I’m pretty sure it’s going to surge up in popularity with a full complete story now

I hope it's story dlc and not just random side missions but either way looks like I'm dusting the game off once I finish rebirth. Yea everyone was all "hallway simulator this" but it was WAY better than 13 which did the same thing. I'm glad it's getting love now. I'll still never get over not getting the last story dlc for 15 but Final Fantasy fans been EATING lately
I actually love the narrating recap style of editing for this cause while I personally do not mind watching all the cutscenes again, I can acknowledge that it's a hella lot of cutscene to watch for a playthrough. But either way... MORE AFRO FF16 LETS GOOO
Totally agree. Most of these games I've played or watched somebody play already. I'd love to see all the commentary and reactions, but the Afro Narration goes too. So it's a win-win.

Just finished this up recently. Freaking amazing, combo game go crazy. I literally did all the hunts and side quests before every main mission. The world is captivating and immersive. It's one of my favorite FF games. I'm playing 7 Rebirth now, and loving it.

by the way, if you pause the game during a cutscene, you can access the active time lore which will give you details regarding the history and timeline of the game
Never had a linear driven rpg feel so expansive. The attention to the lore and the way you can see timelines, relationships, battles and troops moving on the map as the story progresses… its chiefs kiss. The boss fights will go down in history. They poured so much love into this. Had no problem with the ARPG aspects. Beautiful combat, beautiful game.
I've platinumed 2 games in my life, and im a 30 year old gamer. This is one of them. I absolutely love ff16, and i can't wait for the rising tide dlc on the 18th💪🏾

I dont play games to get trophies, but those two games were so impactful for me that I immersed myself in their worlds and did everything I could, and by proxy, got the Plat.

I would honestly say the boss battles in this game are the most epic ive played in any game. The set pieces, music, anime-esque epicness of them. Square really came with it in this game. I remember one of the battles making me and many others emotional, i haven't had a game do that to me in so long. It was like a "WTF am I playing right now?" moment. My wife was like "are you crying?" and starts laughing at me 😂😂😂 Afro this boss battle is simply a tip of the iceberg when it comes to the boss battles of this game. I hope you play this one through.
I honestly believe this game could have gotten game of the year if it came out any other year besides 2023. The fact that it had to compete with other heavy hitters just took the wind out of its sails. Lore note- Jill is not Clive's sister. She is the daughter of a chief of bandits in the north. Clive's family went to stop them, and Jill was given to the family as a peace offering/hostage. Clive's dad wasn't a bitch (unlike his wife) and treated her like family. Other lore note- the people in this game don't know how to do anything without magic. They can't farm without it. They don't dig wells, they just dig a hole and fill it with water. I almost want to say they couldn't even start a campfire without magic. So, Clive shocked that they could farm in a location with absolutely zero magic in it was a goddamn miracle to him.
Its less that, and more the Blight actively *drains* the Aether from everything around it. When you go into Blighted Lands not long after this point, to Find Out What Happened That Night, *none* of Clive's magical abilities are available. and if you ever come back for shits and or giggles, to that location, *it's still like that* So its not so much Clive is surprised people did things *without* magic, but that they managed to do it in a place that is *actively negating a known fundamental requirement to life of any kind* is what makes him so shocked.
A few tips Afro I would recommend changing your magic button to L1 it’ll make it easier to charge your magic while your attacking you can charge attacks at any point even while attacking or other animations are happening.
Square and X at the same time to thrust attack and slash then triangle then slash and triangle to burst(you can do it 3 times for a different combo) hold square to use a charge attack,also it can be used in the air
Put points in your skill tree. Also, press the pad button on the controller. Fireball after every blade swing for combo string. Hold attack on downed enemies for an execute.
Yo Afro idk if you know but if you equip the Timely Ring Set it automatically does complex combos by touching “Square”. It makes Torgal automatically attack too. Then the other ones can do stuff like give you extra time to dodge, and auto heal I think. Just a tip

You can increase your damage by timing your Inputs correctly, while using your Range attacks after your melee and repeat that sequence until it ends in a finisher

Afro, you can hit a magic attack after a precision dodge, for that counter attack, instead of just a melee counter You can also alternate your melee and magic attack buttons for a longer and stronger combo, it requires precise timing though
