It’s very funny to me that I genuinely can’t tell if they cancelled the game due to ongoing, volatile, modern politics being intrinsic to the game, or the fact that it’s a 8-10 hour single player campaign. The gaming industry is weird
As someone who keeps a list of games lost to time, I am here for this channel. If you're taking recommendations, "Faith & a. 45" was a canceled PS3 title about a Bonnie & Clyde type couple.
Having seen this video a few times now, my biggest takeaway is that the characters in the original games where from the books. I never knew that, and now i kinda want to read rainbow six and replay the og titles.
@@LuckStat btw, do you have links to those images of the game informer articles? Like the articles themselves? I saw an image of one but now I can’t it find anywhere
Your content is amazing, you really turn these troubled game projects into riveting stories. Keep grinding the videos, your channel will explode in popularity soon!
I always have to double take when I see the quality and consistency of your videos compared to the amount of subscribers. I've watched and enjoyed every video even if I had no prior interest or knowledge in the subject of the video. I look forward to the next one and hope you see the success you deserve for you hard work!
I think it a right time they should make rainbow six patriot because of Ready or Not videogame to hunt down school shooter, terrorist, and search warrants. Plus making a decision you wanted save them or don’t save them.
It still hurts Patriot's never released 💔 To this day nothing on console comes close to R6V1-2 I don't understand the single player argument the game was co op single player including co op PVE & PVP It had everything it needed to have following on from R6V2
I'm not hardcore into Rainbow 6 since I mainly played the Vegas games and I do enjoy them but a game in the series that's like Modern Warfare and David Cage just sounds like a massive turn off. Just the idea of using David Cage games as an inspiration just sounds bizarre but this was before the massive dislike for him started to kick in with Beyond Two Souls. Patriots could've went either way but I picture one of two things happening: 1. The game comes out and it's so different from past games that it's not considered a "true" R6 game(ignoring the Vegas games since well franchise original sin be damned) because the gameplay is different and the story sucks but it might garner a cult following over the years and most likely it's because of the gameplay more than story. Stuff like maybe Metroid Other M, Metal Gear Solid 5, Resident Evil 6 and Hitman Absolution. 2. The game comes out everything I said before happens but there is no cult following and the game just gets forgotten about to time and is generally just viewed as that "really bad one" when discussing it. Stuff like your Devil May Cry 2s, Medal of Honor Warfighters and to some degree Halo 5. I can picture one of these two things happening and I doubt the game would've ended up as a massive success story where all parties are satisfied with the end product, you can pretty much look at games like Resident Evil 4(2005) for proof of that.
I'm maybe a little optimistic that it would be the first category as someone who has a soft spot for a couple of those examples and tend to like it when devs try something new (even if that new isn't necessarily in line with what came before) but I really think the 2nd one was much more likely. The fact that we never really saw gameplay and yeah, the David Cage stuff being an influence feels like a red flag, especially considering Siege just lopped off all single-player on release.
I know its literally the bare minimum to go "yeah harrassing the victims of and families of victims of a fucking school shooting is horrible behaviour and anyone who does it is a worthless piece of shit" but it was still weirdly a. relief? i guess? to outright call it out like that :v good channel and very excellent and interesting video, i had never even heard of it before
I wanted to relax and watch a video about video games after a hard day of work, you wanted to get some politics out of your chest. I'm really glad that at least one of us got what they wanted out of this video.
Apologies if it came across that way, it wasn't my intention to "get something off my chest" beyond a tiny tiny part where I compare headlines from one specific journalist. Patriots is a project so *entrenched* in the politics of the time so it's hard for it not to come across that way. Appreciate the feedback.
Lol, found one of the "True Patriots" I'm guessing you think the video was full of "Fake news". I very much enjoyed the video for being informative about the development hell that was this game, or these games(not sure if they should count as 1 or not)

The gaming industry is weird
Given the recent events with Luigi, this game would’ve aged gracefully
I was extremely hyped, still play Vegas 2 to this day, and never touched Siege as I already have CS:GO/2 to be sweaty with.
I played Siege for the first time for this and it was SO Sweaty. I'm not built for competitve FPSes like that anymore
Same

So technically, Patriot was cancelled but the concept and tech being used in The Division, Siege, AC and Far Cry.
Yup basically. Chopped up and served in pieces all across Ubisoft
I don’t get why they didn’t adapt the story into a book at least. The premise is good enough to be adapted into its own novel.
I'm kind of surprised it didn't either, they did tie-in novels up until The Division. I imagine if it got closer to release we would've seen something

I bought a copy off of eBay a while back because I couldn't find any either. Here is a scan on archive.org

@@LuckStat thank you!
another awesome video. I never really played any Rainbow Six but still really interesting
God, I remember being so hyped for this game

I'm still bummed we never got Patriots. Yeah Ready or Not or whatever else are similar. But it's not Patriots.
was getting deja vu as it turns out id seen another video on this game some months back by someone else but still good

I really appreciate the support! We're starting to get there!
I think the last R6 game I really got into was Vegas 2. I didn't know anything about this subject, so you taught me a lot here!
I only had Ghost Recon as a kid, but Rainbow Six always had the cooler name. Also 8k hype!

Awesome video! What was the music for part 1 btw? I feel like ive heard it somewhere but cant place it
It's Rooftops from The Division 2
@@LuckStat Oh cool, thanks! I've never played Division 2 and recognized it. It sounds just like something else, I just can't remember what lol
You absolutely do not have enough subscribers for the quality of your videos. You make better content than channels 100x your size

The studio chose to make a very political game. It's not that LuckStat chose to make a political video about an apolitical game.
