Thanks for posting, been following cycling for 35 years and have fond memories of picking up cycling monthly knowing that each month they featured great champions of the past, Coppi and Steenbergen being part of that rich history.
Thank you for the clip! Van Steenbergen was in great shape coming from the 6 days season. But Coppi? Maybe a bit out of his element. Still back in the day you didn't specialize. You did all the races.

Steenbergen was a track star, Coppi didn't stand a chance when they entered the track together.
Fausto Coppi was a legend. I wonder what he would do with the modern carbon frame bikes of today with electronic shifters etc... ??
And he did all the races. Didn't specialize at all.
I guess he would............ ride? Yes. He would ride on those synthetic, soulless "bikes".
