The Oklahoma State Cowboys beat the Oklahoma Sooners on November 4th, 2023, 27-24 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This is my POV of the game, from the stands.
Boone Pickens Stadium (previously known as Lewis Field) has been home to the Oklahoma State University Cowboys football team in rudimentary form since 1919, and as a complete stadium since 1920. Aligned in an east-west direction since 1920, the field is the oldest in the Big 12 Conference.
With the resurgence of Cowboy football, sparked by the 2001 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the annual Bedlam Series game and the subsequent 2002 Houston Bowl season, interest grew for a major overhaul of Lewis Field. An ambitious fund-raising project for the renovation dubbed "The Next Level" became the flagship effort of the Oklahoma State athletic department.
The stadium has a capacity of 53,885.
The Bedlam Series is the name given to the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State rivalry. It refers to the athletics rivalry between Oklahoma State University Cowboys and Cowgirls and the University of Oklahoma Sooners of the Big 12 Conference. Both schools were also members of the Big Eight Conference before the formation of the Big 12 Conference in 1996, and both were divisional rivals in the Big 12 South Division prior to 2011. The rivalry will conclude as an annual conference matchup in 2023, after which Oklahoma will officially join the Southeastern Conference. 40 years of the rivalry's games were played without the teams playing in the same conference, and it is possible that the series may continue beyond that date.
While the football and basketball games stand today as the marquee events in the Bedlam Series, the term "Bedlam" actually began with the rivalry between the schools' prestigious wrestling programs, more particularly the raucous crowds that attended the matches held at Oklahoma State's Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The first Bedlam football game was held at Island Park, now known as Mineral Wells Park, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. It was a cold and extremely windy day, with temperatures well below the freezing mark. At one point during the game when the Oklahoma A&M Aggies were punting, the wind carried the ball backwards behind the kicker. If the Oklahoma A&M squad recovered the ball it would be a touchback, but if the University of Oklahoma squad recovered it, it would be a touchdown. The ball rolled down a hill into the half-frozen creek. Since a touchdown was at stake, members of both teams dove into the icy waters to recover the ball. A member of the OU team came out with the ball and downed it for a touchdown. OU won the game, 75-0. The rivalry has now been played without interruption since 1910, and alternates between the two respective campuses. Since 2011, games in odd-numbered years are contested in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on the campus of OSU, and games in even-numbered years in Norman, Oklahoma at OU.
Oklahoma lead series 91-20-3, although Oklahoma State now holds a 1 game win streak. - Спорт

I love the vid! Im a current student who was in the student section. That was the loudest i have ever heard BPS. I hope you enjoyed a taste of our beautiful campus, Cowboy culture and whole experience. Sorry you got the class act of sooners fans crying in front of you. Go Pokes!
It was an awesome experience! Glad I decided to go to this one! BPS is probably the loudest under-60k capacity stadium in the country, I was very impressed!
As a cheerleader at Okstate, the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. It is so much louder on the field! And GO POKES!!!
I bet it is! Great win for you guys!
I was at this game and it was awesome!! So glad we beat OU. Go Pokes!
Such a good view of the Gooners!
peaking 110 db even in a middle tier seat omg! I can't even fathom how loud that field was at ground level.
For real! I couldn’t believe how loud 55k sounded. I have been to plenty of stadiums this year that are much larger (Camp Randall, Lambeau, Soldier Field, Jack Trice, etc.) that did not get as loud as Boone Pickens did on Saturday.
Great video! Thanks for letting me relive my last home game as a student through it! Come back to Stillwater any time. We'll welcome you with open arms!
Great to hear! It was an awesome experience, one of the top of the year for us!
Thanks for visiting my hometown team. I'm glad you folks had a great time at the game. If you wanted to know why they do the arm wave when the Cowboys score, it started back in the day because we had a kicker who was hard of hearing and they did it to show him that they were cheering when we scored. If you think that game was wild, come back next year to homecoming the night before they have a big walk-around event at the Greek houses and street vendors, it's a site to see and a lot of fun.
Thanks for the info! Love historic traditions like that, those are some of the cool details that make college football so special!
This video is awesome! I've been a student at OSU since 2018 (undergrad and grad), and this game had the most sustained loudness I have ever heard in BPS. I think Bedlam 2021 had higher peaks (we ran a kick back and the place went nuts), but that was probably the best crowd we've ever had.
Glad we could document it for y’all!
Ok State fan/alum here. Glad you had a good time! It’s too bad it wasn’t at night!!!! GO POKES!!!
Night game would’ve been awesome, but it was still a great time regardless!
Great video, I wonder what your measurements would have been like if you had been in the bowled end of the stadium. I was on about the 30 yard line on that end of the field and on the final 4th down play, it was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think.
Next time I’m there (whenever that may be) I’ll have to try the other end of the stadium! I appreciate it!
Been an OSU football fan for since high school. I tried walking on for the team in 1986 - lasted only one day. Then transferred to GWU in DC. Eventually moved to Florida but stayed an OSU football ever since. My wife graduated from FSU and we go to those games as often as we can. You'll enjoy the FSU-Miami, big rivalry. If you're on visitor side it'll get a little toasty but supposed to be cloudy tomorrow. Great video of the OU-OSU game.
Luckily I’ve had my fair share of the rivalry (FSU Class of 2020)!🤣 I always love going back to Tallahassee, definitely have to sit on the West side, east side can be very toasty for sure! I appreciate your comment!
Glad yall enjoyed the game in stillwater ok..hope to see yall back
local student here! this came up on my recommended feed and i just HAD to watch it! i loved seeing myself through a lot of this (i was in the endzone w/ the paddle people!) thank you for visiting Stillwater and don't be afraid to come back!
That's awesome! We’ll be back sometime in the future I’m sure! It was an awesome time, and we loved your town.
Idk where y’all from but I’m happy y’all came to Oklahoma most people see Oklahoma as tornado season or other things but Oklahoma is a very beautiful place but thank you for coming to the last bedlam game means a lot to all us okies. Go Pokes 🤠
Not gonna lie, we currently live in Wisconsin, and one of our hobbies is storm chasing, so we’ve been to Oklahoma for that🤣 it’s awesome to see how much this game means to you guys!
Pleasantly surprised at how well done this was. OSU looks like a lot of fun; Gundy is a hell of a coach, no doubt. I'll be looking for FANaddicts going forward. Best of luck.
I appreciate it! Gundy is one of the best out there when it comes to over performing with his talent level! That dude can really coach
This is amazing thank y’all for coming. Hope y’all had a good time! 🤠
Absolutely did, super glad we could make it!
captured the enviroment perfectly! nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
THANK YOU!! Please post more of these!!
Absolutely! You are in luck as there are a load of games we have gone to this year on my channel! Stay tuned for more as well!
Looks like we were a few rows up from you! What a blast! Most fun at a bedlam game ever! OU--don’t let the screen door hit ya…
It was definitely a lot of fun!
I'm a student whose been to dozens of games in my childhood, and for this game I took my fiancé for her first ever OSU game. I will never ever forget how loud it was.
Wow, what a first game that must’ve been!
Cool content guys! Thanks from the Pokes!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video - great editing and love the video series concept. Thanks for posting for those of us who couldn't go!
Glad you enjoyed it, I appreciate it! It’s a format that I’ve always wanted to see, but I couldn’t find anyone who did anything like it - so may as well do it myself!
Great job on the video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Those 2 little gooners right there look so sad hahahahahahahaha
Never been to Boone Pickens, very impressive setup! Awesome sound enclosure, reminds me Henry Iba, their basketball arena, the students are on top of you...one of the best atmospheres in each sport! Love from a Jayhawk fan!
Definitely crazy how close the fans are to the field. Must be wild to be an opposing team on the sidelines
Cool material. Really like this aspect
I appreciate it bro!
Good video and excellent game
Thank you 👍
Thanks you for this video truly. Thank you. Please more
Absolutely! More videos are on the way as the season goes on!
@@FAN_addicts definitely will be looking forward to those games
As an Oklahoma State fan, I LOVED it!! GO POKES!!🧡🧡🖤🖤🤠🤠 And THWOU!!
Glad we could get the experience on video!
This is awesome!!!

Thank you! GO POKES!
Absolutely, glad you enjoyed!
Well done, and thanks.
Go Pokes!
Absolutely! Thanks for the comment!
Love the channel go Noles
I appreciate it! We're going to FSU vs Miami next week, it should be a good one!
Do the Georgia vs Clemson game in 2024! Ya’ll should go to that game next year!
Great suggestion! We’ll have to see when the cfb scheduling starts getting released what games make the most sense. Maybe it would! That rivalry would be a fun one though for sure!
@@FAN_addicts I just looked up the future football schedules for Georgia and Clemson and they will play each other on August 31rst 2024
great content! go pokes!!!
I appreciate it, thank you!
So glad you guys got to attend. Thanks for stopping by!
Absolutely! Was very glad we chose this game - still can’t believe Boone Pickens only holds 55k, with the noise it sounded like 80k!
@@FAN_addicts It used to hold 60,218. Renovations have brought it down. Masterfully built stadium though. Looks a lot bigger than it is and traps sound very well. One of my favorite places on earth
@@m00t53 definitely traps sound very well. It also helps that you Pokes are loud and proud! Had an elderly guy on the right of me who was making noise the entire game! Was awesome to see how much this game means to you guys!
Awesome, Go Pokes!
18:00 you can see on top of the stadium how excited all of those folks are. Little dark specs lol
I think 2021 was a little louder. Night game with more wild swings. Nonetheless great atmosphere.
I wish I could have been there! But being at the last Bedlam was a close second.
I was there and it was such a great experience, wish you would’ve been at the 2021 game also that one was even louder!🤠
Man I wish I was at that one… this one is the next best game though that’s for sure!
This is a fantastic look! Subscribed. I am a Kansas fan. If you ever go to ONE basketball game, go to Allen Fieldhouse. Maybe this year for UConn, or in 2024 for North Carolina. Or any conference game, especially K-State, Baylor...etc.
KU hoops is 100% on the bucket list, we’ll for sure be attending a game there sometime in the future!
@@FAN_addicts 🔥🔥🔥
Such a fun environment.
Agreed!
U should come back next year for when Oklahoma State plays Utah
I was there too! So much fun! Interesting that OSU actually removed capacity recently to upgrade the seating experience in certain sections.
I saw that. Looks like it’s down a few thousand more. Still though, there’s not a bad seat in the house!
They are going to renovate the south stands in the off season much like they did the north side, I think final capacity will be around 52k.
@@scottmerrill2416 which means they will raises. High demand + low supply = $$$
@@FAN_addicts That stadium is old old which explains the interesting slope and E/W configuration. The recent renovations are superb but it's still built on the bones of Lewis Stadium a/k/a Rustoleum Stadium.
So funny to see how sad the gooners are there hahahahahahahaha
What did you use to film this?
Just my iPhone!
Oh man!!! You didn’t go to “the walk”!
Yeah, we personally are trying to get to the stadium earlier to not miss these things! Next time though!
Have yall been to LSU?! Go to LSU stadium and sit in the bowl section...I guarantee you, you gonna leave with your head hurting and ears popping! 😢😮😎🤯 Loudest college stadium ever
Not only the loudest college stadium, but probably one of the loudest stadiums period! It’s on our bucket list!
Go Pokes!!!!
Sorry you were in an OU section. Those gooners are not fun to be around
Hey that’s not true some are respectful and some are not I am respectful
@@trippchance2820 lol sorry I was joking
Hilarious to see their eyes...constantly a look of defeat hahahaha all that money wasted
poor gooners, so mad haha
I am an Oklahoma Sooners fan and I completely understand that the BedLam Series came to an end it was a Good run between The Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State cowboys I understand that there were a lot of Oklahoma State fans who were chanting f Oklahoma which was very unsportsmanlike but it was a great run with the series
Yeah, you guys definitely dominated the historical series, they won the last one. I think both sides can go home happy!
What is interesting is that there are OU fans mixed in with OSU fans. That would NEVER happen in Europe with soccer. They try to kill each other in the stands.
Guess we are slightly more civilized lol. Nfl teams tho are mostly separated cause of fights
Because America has something called laws, that’s why they can’t set the arena on fire like they do in Europe
And I know that pass interference call towards the end should had been called but it wasn’t I know Oklahoma did the best they could
That pass interference at the end that wasn't called will never not make me angry as a sooner fan. Osu played a great game but the officials gave the game to them.
Cryyyy. OU gave them the game by playing poorly on offense. 3 turnovers …. To 1.
0-2 on 4th down. Osu should have won by 10 or more if we want to be real.
@@BWen3 doesn't excuse poor officiating lol
@@deaddad6310 happens to us all. We don’t care. Nobody feels sorry for you. U should Hope your team improves.
@@BWen3 I'm not looking for sympathy. Just fair officiating. That's not alot to ask for lol
@@deaddad6310 thank you captain obvious. We all want that. We all don’t get that on every play. That call did not decide the game.
awesome video!
I appreciate it man!
This is awesome!
It sure it! It was truly an awesome atmosphere!
